Hello, Super-Couponers! I hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful warm weather over the weekend — that is, before it turned into a severe thunderstorm on Sunday night. Such is life in Chicagoland….
It’s also been a busy week in coupon world! If you haven’t read my post on SavingStar and their new ecoupons, you may want to check it out. SavingStar is a new kind of ecoupon that pays you cash back for using it! Create a free account, attach your loyalty cards to it, and then select the coupons you want to load. When you reach $5 savings, you can cash it out and keep the savings! In Chicagoland, Jewel-Osco, Hilander/Kroger and CVS are all affiliated with SavingStar, so check it out! Some of this week’s Deals involve SavingStar coupons too, so I wanted to give you a heads-up on these if you haven’t already signed up.
I’ve got a new giveaway posted on the site this week too… 25 of my readers will each win a dinner for two from P.F. Chang’s! Enter at this link if you’re interested (and hey, free dinner? Is anyone in this bargain-hunting crowd NOT interested in that?)

- The Dominick’s deals may be applicable at Safeway, Vons, Carr’s, Randall’s Genuardi’s, Tom Thumb, and other Safeway-owned stores
- The Hilander deals may be applicable at Kroger, Ralph’s, Fred Meyer, Dillon’s, City Market, King Soopers, and other Kroger-owned stores
The Target, Walgreens and CVS deals apply nationally.
This week’s newspaper contained two inserts: SmartSource (SS) and RedPlum (RP.) Some editions of the paper also have a single sheet insert of Target store coupons for P&G products (5/23 TARGET.)

“Deals of the Week” is written assuming you are using the inserts from the Chicago Tribune (or, if reading from outside Chicagoland, the largest newspaper serving your market area. That largest paper has the most, highest-value coupons. The content, coupons, and dollar amounts of the coupons in the RedPlum and SmartSource inserts differs by paper, so to coupon effectively, you do need to be getting the paper with the “best,” highest-value coupons.)

Grocery Deals
Starting at Jewel-Osco… (View weekly ad)
Here’s a SUPER-cheap “stock up on pop before summertime” sale! 12-packs of Coke, Pepsi, and Dr. Pepper products are 4-for-$9 when you buy 4 with an additional $20 purchase. The new Jewel “Fresh Summertime Fun” coupon book available in stores has a coupon inside for $2-off-2 Coke products… but the coupon EXCLUDES Coca-Colas. It’s for the non-cola beverages, but there are plenty of them, like…

I don’t usually blog beer and alcohol deals, but this one’s pretty good… Miller Lite 24-packs bottle or cans are on sale for $12.99. Sunday’s Jewel ad has a coupon that will have you paying ONE penny for the following when you buy the beer:
1 package of Oscar Mayer Hot Dogs
1 package of S. Rosen’s Hot Dog Buns

_______________________________________________
As long as this still has print limits..! Reader Avenger spotted a printable coupon for $2 off a $25 purchase at Jewel!
2011 FREEZER DEAL PARTICIPANTS: We are nearing the expiration date for the freezer deal coupons. If you would like to start using some of them up, items that typically -never- go on sale B1G1F include the light bulbs, batteries, ice cream sprinkles and ice cream scoopers. Especially for the sprinkles and the scoopers, last year, the stores sold out of these completely during the last week the coupons were in circulation… your call.
Jewel-Osco information:
Jewel-Osco has a Facebook page. If you have questions directly for corporate, you can ask them there.
Are you on the Jewel-Osco email list? Jewel has been making coupons available for many different products over the past few months, and they’re usually store coupons that you can stack manufacturer coupons with too.
Coupon books currently found at Jewel:
Fresh Summertime Fun – Coupons for charcoal, meats and other Jewel items
Smuckers Ice Cream – has ice cream topping coupons for $1.25 off and B3G4th Free
Fresh & Fun Celebration – Small book with coupons for $2 off any 1lb. or larger Stockman & Dakota Premium Angus Beef package; $2 off any 1 to 2lb. bag of Arctic Shores shrimp, and $2 off any Hormel Party Tray (all expire 7/15/11.)
Smart Easy Spring Cleaning – Coupons for SC Johnson cleaning products (Windex, Pledge, Scrubbing Bubbles.)
Jewel meat deals:
- Perdue oven stuffer roaster chickens are .99/lb.
- Split chicken breasts are .99/lb.
- Chicken drumsticks or thighs are .99/lb.
- 16oz. packages of Perdue ground chicken or turkey burgers are $3.99, B1G1F – that’s about $2/lb.
Jewel seafood deals:
- Farm-raised swai fillets are $3.99/lb.
Jewel produce deals:
- Baking potatoes are .69/lb.
- Vidalia onions are .99/lb.
- Jonagold, Golden or Red Delicious appleas are $1.29/lb.
- Green beans are $1.49/lb.
- Peaches and apricots are $1.99/lb.
- Asparagus is $1.99/lb.
- Florida sweet corn is .40 an ear
(Anytime meat is under $1.99 a pound (no matter what it is — beef, pork, poultry) it’s a buy in my book, because $1.99 is a cycle low and a good benchmark for meat prices — ditto for most produce. Seafood, by its nature, is more expensive per pound, but a good “buy” benchmark is $4 per pound or less.)
Let’s go to Dominick’s (View weekly ad)…
Note to Safeway shoppers reading from outside Chicagoland: In Chicago, Dominick’s does not double coupons (as other Safeway stores do) – if your store doubles, you’ll do even better with many of these deals. Also, in Chicago, support for previously-available ecoupons (Cellfire, ShortCuts and PGEsaver) have been discontinued. Ecoupons are now available in the “Just For U / Coupon Center” section of electronic coupons available at Dominicks.com.
Dominick’s Super Coupons:
These are store coupons found in the weekly Dominick’s flyer, which (in the case of the name-brand products) means they can be stacked with manufacturer coupons for even bigger savings. You can also load some of these Super Coupons to your Fresh Values card via Dominicks.com and not have to clip them. Best bets this week?
In the May 19-25 flyer – “4 Day Sale” on cover:
- Half-gallons of Horizon Organic Milk are $3.69 each, limit 3, with Super Coupon. Stack that with this .55 printable and pay $3.14.
- Viva 6-roll Paper Towels are $4.99 each, limit 2, with Super Coupon. This double dips with a Catalina offer too… buy two 6-roll packs of Viva and receive a $4 Catalina! The new “Fresh Summertime Fun” coupon book at Jewel-Osco has a manufacturer coupon inside for $1 off Viva, and Viva’s Facebook page has a game in which you can print coupons too. With two $1 coupons, pay $7.98 and get $4 back. $3.98 for 12 rolls works out to about .33 per roll!
- Arm & Hammer Scoop cat litter (20lb.) is on sale for $5.99, limit 3, with Super Coupon. If you haven’t used it yet during a previous sale, the July 2010 All You has a $3 coupon. With it, pay $2.99! There’s also a $1 printable here.
Dominick’s is running a 4-Day Sale that ends TODAY, Monday. Best deals?
– Safeway Hickory Smoked Thick Sliced Bacon – the 3lb. package is $8.97, which works out to $2.99/lb. Fair price for bacon, but we really like this kind. It is thick and smoky, like you’d get in a restaurant. For a store-brand bacon, I was pretty impressed.
– Safeway Select Pizzas (14.25-32.7oz.) are $2.99. Go for the largest sizes, obviously.
Ecoupons on Dominicks.com/Just For U worth checking out:
Just for U launched new offers in May (found under “Personalized Offers” at Dominicks.com’s Just For U.) The new offers are valid through 9/14/2011, and you do need to load them to your Fresh Values card to activate them.
Comet Cleanser (17-21oz.) is .99. Use the .35 coupon from 4/10 SS and pay .64.
Here’s a little deal on Children’s Reach toothbrushes. They’re on sale for $1.89 each, and they’re also involved in a YourBucks Catalina sale: Buy 4 and get a $4 Catalina.
So, you’ll want to buy four. Let’s add coupons! The 5/8 SS has a $2-off-2, and there are $1 coupons in the 4/17 SS1 and 1/9 SS2. With $4 coming off your pre-coupon total of $7.56, you’re at $3.56. Pay $3.56 and get $4 back… all free and a moneymaker!
If you haven’t yet signed up for the “Just For U“ electronic discounts that you can load to your Dominick’s Fresh Values card, you may want to. For registering your card, you’ll receive an ecoupon for a FREE 12-ct. Lucerne large eggs! You’ll also activate a set of electronic discounts that are tied to your card for the next 90 days. Each person’s discounts are different, and they’re based on past purchases made with your Fresh Values card at Dominick’s.
Dominick’s meat deals:
- Fresh Safeway whole chickens are $1.29/lb.
Want FREE marinade? Many Dominick’s will marinate your fresh meat free at the meat counter, so depending on what you’re buying, you may want to take advantage of that.
Dominick’s produce deals:
- Broccoli crowns are .99/lb.
- Roma tomatoes are .99/lb.
- Gala, Granny Smith or Red Delicious apples are $1/lb.
- Navel oranges are $1/lb.
- Zucchini or yellow neck squash are $1/lb.
- Vidalia onions are $1/lb.
- 1lb. bags of Eating Right baby-cut carrots are $1/lb.
- 3lb. packs of strawberries are $4.88 – that’s about $1.63/lb., great price
- 12oz. Fresh Express salads are .99 each
- Ataulfo or tropical mangoes are $1 each
Heading over to Meijer, here are your best deals for Meijer stores in in Algonquin, Aurora, Bloomingdale, Bolingbrook, Elgin, McHenry, Oswego, Plainfield, Rolling Meadows, St. Charles, and the Indianapolis area: (View weekly ad)…
Between last week and this week, Meijer’s really rocking, especially with the super $25/$10 Catalina sale they’ve got running! But we’ll get to that in a moment… kicking this week’s sales off is a deal on drink mix and bottled water! Buy 2 or more Crystal Light On-the-Go (7-10ct.,) Kool-Aid Singles or Country Time On-The-Go (10ct.) get a Catalina for a FREE 12-pack case of Meijer Spring Water. All the drink mixes are on sale for $2 each.
The best item to use here is the Crystal Light. Print two $1 printables here. There’s also a Buy Two Get One Free coupon in the 4/3 SS. However, the B2G1F is coded for ALL THREE boxes, so you cannot use it in conjunction with the other coupons.
So… with either two printables OR one B2G1F, buy three Crystal Light. After coupons, pay $4 for 3 Crystal Lights and get a Catalina for a free case of water!
Right now, the Crystal Light Pure is also triggering an additional $2 Catalina for buying 3. I do NOT know how long this Catalina runs, but it appears to only be on the “Pure” (natural sweetener) variety. To do this deal, buy 3 Crystal Light Pure – pay $4 for 3 Crystal Lights and get a $2 Catalina, plus a Catalina for a free case of water. It ends up costing $2 for everything!
Mott’s Apple Juice is involved in a little instant-savings deal. Buy 2 64oz. bottles of Mott’s (priced at $2.30/bottle at the Algonquin store) and get a FREE bottle of Mott’s Garden Blend juice! Meijer Mealbox has coupons for $1-off-2. With that coupon, you’ll pay $3.60 for your two apple juices and get a FREE Mott’s Garden Blend. That works out to $1.20 for each of your 3 bottles! Note that the FREE bottle is limited to one per transaction. Buying 4 Mott’s will NOT generate 2 free Mott’s Garden Blend.
Ball Park Franks are on sale for .98 per package, limit 6. Buy 2 and use the .75-off-2 coupons from 5/1 RP or 3/27 RP. You’ll pay $1.21 for two packages, or about .61 each! Just in time for Memorial Day weekend…
Did you know that Meijer Mealbox now has a tab for “Custom Coupons” that shows many of the Catalina deals currently running at the store? Here’s a fun one on Whiskas cat food that’s running through 6/11:
Whiskas Tray Food for Cats
BUY 4, GET $ 1.00 off your next shopping trip via Meijer Custom Coupon
Well, Whiskas tray entrees (white square with a peel-off lid) sell for .52 at most Meijer locations. The 5/15 RP has a B1G1F coupon, and Whiskas’ site has a printable too. With two coupons, buy four trays for $1.04… and get a $1 Catalina back! That’s .04 for 4, or a penny each! Your cat says “MeWOW!”
Meijer is running a “Spend $25, get $10” Catalina sale on Energizer and Energizer-owned products! Special thanks to reader Tammy for sharing the alert! This is a very nice deal that includes a lot of items. Products and prices were collected at the Algonquin Meijer. As this sale is not in the ad and is only being advertised on alerts and in-store signage, it took quite a while to compile this list. Please do not copy/paste this list to another site without crediting JillCataldo.com. Here are your products and matchups. What’s nice about this deal is that in most cases, ALL products of each brand/category are included! (Walgreens has a $25/$10 running on some of these items too, but the prices on the sunscreen are much better at Meijer this week.) Banana Boat – all products Edge – all products Energizer – all Energizer batteries or lights Lights: Hawaiian Tropic Playtex – all Gentle Glide and Sport tampons Playtex Infant Care – all infant care products Schick – all products Women: Skintimate – all products Wet Ones – all products |
SCENARIO IDEAS:
With all of the Hawaiian Tropic and Banana Boat coupons out there, you can do a nice all-sunscreen deal. For example, buy 4 Hawaiian Tropic and/or Banana Boat priced at $6.39 each ($25.56.) With four $1 coupons, pay $21.56 and get $10 back — $11.56 for four is $2.89 each! Good price! AND, if you have an $8 Catalina from last week’s vitamins sale that specifies it’s good for “health, beauty, or cosmetics” products, you can use it here for your sunscreen! With four $1 coupons and an $8 Catalina from last week, pay $13.56 and get a $10 Catalina back!
Or, buy 5 $5.57 sunscreens ($27.85.) Use 5 $1 coupons to drop it to $22.85. Pay and get a $10 Catalina – $12.85 for 5 is $2.57 each! And again, if you have an $8 Catalina from last week, add that here too. Pay $14.85 and get a $10 Catalina back! (I am super-stocked on sunblock for the summer now… AND I turned my $8 store Catalina into a $10 manufacturer Catalina. Love that!)
All of the Playtex baby cups and bottles are going to be good buys here too if you need them. Even with no coupons, this sale is a welcome opportunity to knock the prices down on these things. (I would have loved to have had a sale like this when my kids were younger… I have a small fortune invested in their collection of Coolster Tumblers, which were my [and my kids’] favorite spill-proof cups. Truly, I’m not exaggerating. We own TEN of those cups. Do the math…)
And… batteries! Go for the Energizer “bonus packs” to maximize the deal.
Lastly, the $10 Catalina you receive is a manufacturer coupon.
It’s charcoal stock-up time for charcoal grillers! Meijer’s running a Catalina sale on Kingsford Charcoal, Hidden Valley Ranch dressing and Glad trash bags. Buy $10 or more of ANY Hidden Valley, Kingsford, or Glad and get a $3 Catalina. Here are your products and matchups: Hidden Valley Mix (single packets) – $2.19 Hidden Valley Dressing (16oz.) – $2.50 Hidden Valley Salad Kit (croutons, mix) – $2.69 Hidden Valley Dip Mix (4ct. packets) – $4.99 Hidden Valley Dressing (36oz.) – $5.69 Hidden Valley Ranch-On-The-Go (4ct. dipping cups) – $4.49 Kingsford 16.6lb. charcoal – $7.49 Glad Trash Bags – $6.49-$9.49 |
BEST SCENARIO: Buy 1 Kingsford Charcoal and 1 Hidden Valley Salad Kit.
Pre-coupon total: $10.18
Use a $1 coupon for each. Pay $8.18 and get a $3 Catalina – knocks your charcoal down to $5.18 a bag, plus a “free” salad kit.
If you shop for kids who like Crayola art kits and sets, you may want to clip and carry the Crayola coupons from the 4/3 SS insert. There’s a $1 off Color Wonder and $2 off Glow Explosion. I’ve heard from several Meijer shoppers who have found Color Wonder and Glow Explosion kits on clearance at the McHenry, St. Charles, Elgin and Algonquin Meijers.
I too spotted some good finds in Algonquin. I picked up a Glow Explosion set on clearance for $1.99 (free with $2 coupon!,) some Color Wonder Light-Up Marker and Drawing Pad sets on clearance for $2.79 ($1.79 with coupon) and a Color Wonder Pirates of the Caribbean Floor-Size Poster Paint Set [has paint-filled brushes and three giant posters] for $1.99 (.99 with coupon.) Nice cheap art supplies for the kids to enjoy on a rainy day over summer break…
Reader Marie reports that the Color Wonder On-the-Go marker sets sell for $1.99 at the St. Charles Meijer (& probably other locations too) and with the $1 coupon, they’re .99.
“No Coupon Needed” Deals:
Dozen cartons of Meijer eggs are .99.
24-packs of pop (Coke, Pepsi, 7-Up) are $5 each, limit 3.
89oz. Tropicana Orange Juice are $3.99 each.
1lb. bags of Meijer frozen vegetables are .99.
12ct. Meijer hamburger or hot dog buns are $1.50.
Deals continuing from previous weeks:
Meijer is running a super Catalina deal on its Meijer Naturals and Meijer Organics house branded food items. Buy any 3, get $1 off, buy any 4, get $2 off, or buy any 5 or more, get $3 off your NEXT Meijer Naturals or Organics purchase. (Page 4-5 of last Thursday’s ad, through 5/28!)
Note that the Catalina is for your NEXT Meijer Naturals or Organics purchase, and it does state “Additional coupon offer will not print when this coupon is redeemed in the same transaction,” so don’t roll it if you’re planning multiple deals. Idea to use the Catalina on in a future trip? Meijer organic milk ($3.49 half-gallon) or Meijer Organics/Naturals fresh produce items.
Are you a Meijer Mperks member yet? Mperks is a different set of electronic Meijer coupons. They’re attached to your cellphone number, but aside from one text message to activate your account, you do not need to use text messaging to continually use them. Once you register with Meijer Mperks, you log into the Mperks website and click the electronic coupons you’d like to load to your account. Then, when you’re at the checkout, type your cellphone number into the keypad at the register, and your coupons come off automatically.
Meijer meat deals:
- Meijer split chicken breasts are $1.19/lb.
- Cook’s shank or butt portion ham is $1.49/lb.
- Certified Angus ground beef from chuck is $1.99/lb., limit 3 – GREAT price for this
- 4lb. bags of Meijer boneless skinless chicken breasts are $7.99 – that’s about $2/lb.

- 1lb. packages of frozen Tilapia fillets are $3.99.
Meijer produce deals:
- Vidalia onions are .69/lb.
- Asparagus is $1.49/lb.
- 1lb. containers of strawberries are $1.50 each
- Florida bi-color sweet corn is .17 an ear
- Large cantaloupes are $1.50 each
- Heads of lettuce are .69 each
Note that Meijers in other states are on different schedules. The Illinois Meijers are about a week behind on the sales vs. most of Indiana/Michigan. If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store… Confusing? Yes.
AND, if you shop at the Illinois NILES or ORLAND Meijer locations, they haven’t been following the same sale flyer as the other Illinois Meijers, under the convoluted reasoning that because the stores are newer, people will shop there -without- as many products being on sale. O-kay.

(View weekly ad)…
Did your Sunday paper have a one-sheet insert of store coupons for Target? If so, grab that 5/22 TARGET and get ready to put some deals together…
Gillette Venus razors are involved in a gift card deal this week. Buy two at $7.99 each and get a $5 Target gift card back. Add coupons to make this an even better buy…
The new 5/22 TARGET has a $2 coupon for the Venus razor. If you’ve got two sets of inserts from this week’s paper, you’ll want to use one of these coupons for EACH razor. Stack these with a $2 manufacturer coupon from either the 5/15 RP or the 5/1 PG… one for each razor.
Two razors, before coupons, are $15.98. With two $2 store coupons and two $2 manufacturer coupons, pay $7.98 and get a $5 gift card back! $2.98 for two is $1.49 each!
Clairol Herbal Essences or Aussie Hair Care shampoos and conditioners are $2.99 each. The new 5/22 TARGET has a coupon for $1 off Herbal Essences, Aussie, or Pantene. Stack this with the $1 off Herbal Essences or Aussie coupon from the 2011 P&G Everyday Savings book. You’ll pay .99!

Kraft salad dressing is pretty cheap. It’s on price cut for $1.69 a bottle at most stores. There’s a $1.50-off-2 coupon in the 5/15 RP which you can stack with a $1-off-2 coupon from Target’s site. Buy two, and after the stack, you’ll pay .88 for TWO, or .44 each!

Wrapping things up with Walmart…
Deals continuing from previous weeks:
Here’s a little deal on Just My Size shirts! Many Just My Size shirts are on clearance for $1-$5 each. The May All You has a coupon for $5 off Just My Size apparel on page 14.
Buy a $5 shirt, and it’s FREE with coupon! Buy a less expensive shirt, and Walmart’s policy is to give the coupon overage, so you could actually make money on your shirt!
***
Ivory bar soap 3-packs are .97 each at Walmart. With the $1 coupon from 5/1 PG, the 3-pack is FREE!
FREE Gain Dishwashing Liquid: The P&G $110 Everyday Savings coupon mailer contains a coupon for $1 off Gain Dishwashing Liquid. Walmart sells Gain for .97 (exp. 6/30/11)
Policies to know:
- Walmart will price match any competitor’s advertised price. Bring the other store’s flyers with you to the store.
- With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept other store’s STORE coupons with an actual price listed on them. For example, a Dominick’s store coupon advertising “.99 Ragu Pasta Sauce” would be accepted. A Walgreens store coupon advertising “2/$1 Morton’s Salt” would be accepted. (A Target store coupon for “$2.50 off Huggies” would not, because it does not show the actual selling price of the item.)
- With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept competitor’s Catalina manufacturer coupons. You can get a Catalina for $1 off Snuggle and use it at Walmart.
- Walmart’s new coupon policy specifically addresses coupon overage. It says “Coupons may exceed the price of the item. Change may be given or applied toward the cost of the basket purchase.” I have heard from one reader who used a $3 Register Reward on a $2.49 copy of All You magazine and DID receive change, in cash.
I would print a copy and carry a copy of the coupon policy with you if you anticipate any issues.
Will I blog Walmart in its entirety each week?
I will not be blogging entire writeups for Walmart each week. Every store location’s regular prices are different, and Walmart does not issue a weekly ad every week. I’ve listed Walmart at the end of each week’s Deals writeup, because if you see any deals above that you want, you’ll likely also be able to do them at Walmart.
However, if there IS an ad with noteworthy sales or I’m aware of great coupon matchups, you’ll find those here too.

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)
And, also, as always, a huge thanks to the many readers who posted and emailed deals that made it into today’s Deals of the Week! We’re all in this together, and I sincerely appreciate everyone who spots and passes along good deals that we can all enjoy :) Thank you… to YOU!
* All You magazine: If you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s an inexpensive magazine ($2.49 an issue) that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically $50-$100 worth per issue! Subscribing via the pink banner on the right drops the price to $1.67 per issue. Or, take advantage of the 30-issue “Campus Special” via this link and pay $1.33 per issue! And depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

Hi Jill!
I just wanted to add that at CVS this week Skippy Peanut Butter is on sale 3/$5 with your ECB card. It is also part of the “Spend $10 and receive $3 in ECB” sale. We bought 6 jars, making about $1.17 each! Thought it was a good deal considering I could not find a Skippy coupon anywhere!
jfranks158 says
I tried this listerine deal today…. the $3 store coupon does NOT include the listerine priced $4.49. It is only for the restoring or total care whitening, priced around $6.49.

Did you notice if the Skippy sale included the naturals?
sorry, this reply goes with the comment below.

Ragu was on sale at CVS 3/$5. puchase 6…spend $10, get $3.00 ECB. pair that with (3) 5/22 RP coupons $1.00 off 2 and save an extra $3.00. this makes your final price 6 for $4.00 or .66 per jar…not a bad deal, as i am a big Ragu lover.

I am new to couponing and hoping someone can help me with this.
Jewel brand shredded cheese is on sale this week for 2.49. I have an avenue coupon for 1.50 off Jewel brand shredded cheese. Shouldn’t my price be $1.00? It did not ring up my avenue coupon at the register and the manager seemed very unfamiliar with Avenue coupons. Also it did not have a “limit” listed so does that mean I can buy as many as I want?
bookmaven says
Were there ad circulars in the Sunday paper for Jewel and Dominicks? I had the SS and RP coupons, but didn’t see the Sunday ads for the grocery stores.

My WAGS had the menstrual TC’s for $3.50 each. Buy 2 Thermacare and get a $5 RR. That takes it down to $2. EVEN BETTER…use the $4/2 coupon in the 5/22 SS and you will make $2 on this deal.
Not sure if every wags will have the menstrual TCs for that price. This was the one in Grayslake, corner of 120 and 45.

I received one of these booklets in the mail, and there is NO Viva coupon in there!!
Are the mailed out ones different than the in-store ones? I haven’t had a chance to get one in store yet.

Sorry, maybe I dumb question here, but I don’t see the coupon in the 5/15 SS for the cracker combos. Does it say something else on it that I’m not realizing? I only see the ones with fruit and the sandwich combo coupons.

Not sure if this is true, but I tried doing the Meijer CL Pure this morning and did not get the $2 cat or water cat. I asked the cashier and she said the manufacture ended the promo a few days (she didn’t know when). I told her it was in the ad and she said Meijer wouldn’t honor it because the manufacture ended. I tried it twice and no cats. Anyone try to today with better luck? I did 3 pure and 3 on the go in separate transactions.
zukeeper6 says
Jill what do you do with your expired coupons? I have a ton and it makes me sick to just throw them out. My stores don’t take expired coupons. Do I try to sell them or just take it for what it is and throw them out. I am leery about buying coupons from someone else and would think others would be too. What do you suggest?

i totally messed this one up! but i’ve learned a great lesson – bring your calculator with you to the store! with the banana boat products on sale for 20% off, and the wet ones wipes unexpectedly on sale for 2/$4, i missed the $25 mark by $0.30! before i discovered my math error, i went to customer service and they said they didn’t have that deal in their flyers and they didn’t know about it. has anyone tried this deal at a different meijer than algonquin? i might grab a few different coupons and try the deal at wags.

Just wondering where readers have found the Lunchables with fruit on sale for $1 as Jill talked about. She says she didn’t get a chance to check this out herself, but I went to the Target in Algonquin, and they were not on sale. They were $2.69 each. I was hoping to get 9 free lunchables…that’s how many coupons I have for them.

I tried to get just the on the go packs and it didn’t work. I took the ad up to customer service and the women told me if you used coupons towards the deal the cat wouldn’t print. The 64-ounce Motts apple juice was priced at $4 per bottle at the St. Charles Meijer store. I was quite surprised to see such a drastic price difference, as compared to the $2.30 per bottle, which was from the Algonquin store. I didn’t think the deal was too great with a $4 per bottle price.

I wanted to do the Huggies Little Swimmers deal at Walgreens but I cannot find the manufacturers coupon that Jill says is in the 5/15 SS. All I see is a coupon for Little Movers. I don’t see one for Little Swimmers. Help! :)

B/c I was kind of excited. At my local Wags, the original Whitening Listerine WAS on sale for $4.49 from $6.49 (sounds like maybe the whitening kind wasn’t on sale everywhere?). I used the $3/1 coupon from the weekly Wags ad, plus the 5/22 RP $1/1 man Q to bring it to $.49. I saw that there was a $4 catalina when you bought two, but my store only had one left (I don’t shop on Sundays, so by the time I get to the store on Monday the good stuff has often been cleared out). I decided I still wanted the one at $.49, but when I checked out, the magic machine gave me a $2 catalina even though I just bought one! I have no idea why this worked, but I’m not complaining! So they paid me $1.51 to make my teeth pretty and white and my breath minty fresh!

I called Miller’s 1-800# and found out that the $100 in purchases can be on multiple receipts, receipts from any store that carries the Miller/Coors products will work and any items purchased at those stores work. The receipts need to be dated between 5/1 and 6/5. If you have enough receipts you can do one rebate on the Miller products and another on the Coors products.
I just read another post that states the rep they spoke with mentioned that the items had to be food items. My rep said anything purchased would work, best to be safe and and add up the food items only!

If you go on Facebook for the next 2 hours you can print a $1/2 coupon to go along with the $5/10 sale these coupons don’t come around often.

Does this deal roll? So I could do one transaction and use it to pay for my next one? Or can I do more than one in a transaction and get two catalinas? I have never done a catalina deal at Meijer only Jewel and Walgreens. Thanks!

I have the same question as some one here is that on the retail price before coupons and sales or after

Is the 4/$9 sale at Jewel mix and match? For example, does it have to be 4 Coca-Cola company products to get the sale price or can it be a mixture of Coke and Pepsi products? Thanks!

Went to Meijer today, but the cat food trays are reg price $0.75.

Can get generic Listerine Total Care for a little less than $2.50 at my Target for a 1L bottle. Pretty close deal on brand name Listerine Total Care at Walgreens this week. $3 off WG coupon in their add can be stacked with multiple $1 Mfg coupons we’ve gotten in previous newspaper inserts. Brought it down to $2.49 for each bottle, limit 3 per transaction.

I can’t find the 5/22 target insert for the Venus razors. where are they???

i couldn’t do the jet dry deal last week b/c they were out (still are!) but this week i decided to get the finish, one of the trib inserts has a $1.50 off wags Q and there was a $0.75 off Q that jill had us clip last week. i still got the $1.50 RR. i bought the finish for $4.99 so minus $3.75 – it’s not a bad price if you missed out last week.

I purchased 2 A1 sauces and 1 Bullseye BBQ (High Fructose Free) for a total of 3 (had Mperks Q’s to use) and got 8 free ears of corn .
When you go over by the A1/BBQ sauce area, there is a small “Notice” posted that if you purchass 3 of VARIOUS “sauce” items (can not remember them all) you get 8 free ears of corn. Corn LOOKS really good, fresh – (this was at the McHenry Meijer) – Jill listed the corn as .17 an ear too.

Where do you find these “Fresh Summertime Fun” coupon books with the coupons for Sprite et al? I visited Jewel in Dundee, Algonquin & Crystal Lake the past week and never found them.
I did have a bunch of $1 off 2 for Coke that expire at the end of the month, so I was able to get 8 12packs of Coke for $14.
And of course the Ronzoni was out of stock, so all I got for that was a rain check :-(

Hi. I bought 1 Little Swimmers diapers at Walgreens. I tried to use a $1 RR, plus a manufacturer coupon plus a Walgreens coupon. It wouldn’t scan correctly.
They finally figured out that they have to scan the manufacturer coupon first, Walgreens coupon second, and can’t scan the RR at all.
Is this others’ experience as well, i.e. only can use 2 coupons per 1 item, instead of 3, and that the manufacturer’s coupon must be scanned first? Thanks.

I have really began to notice lately that when Jewel does a B1G1 deal the “single price” has gone way up from the usual shelf price. For example, when Bagels were B1G1 the single price was $5.99. So, when the bagels are just on “regular” sale they are usually a better price than $3 each. Jewel is my favorite store but now I am watching everything very closely.
