Hello, Super-Couponers! Can you believe there are only 27 days until Christmas? I hope everyone survived the Black Friday insanity (and the amazing moneymakers at the drugstores, which likely left you with a healthy profit on your cartloads of free stuff!) Today is Cyber Monday, the official kickoff to the online gift shopping, and I’ve got a great gift idea for you…
This season, why not give a gift that keeps on giving, saving money month after month? My Super-Couponing® DVD contains my entire live coupon workshop, and in one hour, it will change the way you shop forever! Click here to order the Super-Couponing® DVD!
To my new readers, if you’re interested in learning to save on almost everything you buy at the grocery store, why not attend a Super-Couponing workshop? Many are FREE, and in one hour you’ll learn how to cut your grocery bill 50-70%! This week’s Super-Couponing classes are taking place in Belvidere and New Lenox. Learn more!
This week’s newspaper contained one insert: a Procter & Gamble (PG). The light insert week is due to the Thanksgiving holiday — we typically get no coupons at all during a holiday week (Here’s why). P&G is the exception, as they release their inserts the first week of the month, and the first of December falls this week. Sales typically take a breather this week too, but there’s enough going on that will likely have you hitting the stores this week regardless.
Now… ready for your Deals of the Week? You may enjoy .29-.79 bottles of Old Orchard apple juice, $1.25 12-packs of Dr. Pepper Cherry, a $30/$10 P&G Gift Card Catalina sale, shrimp for $1.16.lb., a great Tropicana/Quaker Oatmeal deal, .49 Kellogg’s cereals, three 30oz. bags of Tyson chicken for $3.31, .56 Jack’s Pizzas, 7 boxes of Cinnabon pancakes for $3, .63 Smart Ones selections, FREE Bestlife Buttery Spread, FREE NYC nail polish, a moneymaker Vicks/Nyquil/Puffs deal, FREE Salonspas patches, .99 Gillette Fusion Pro-Glide razors, .75 (big bag!) M&Ms, FREE Dawn Hand Renewal … so let’s get started!

Buy 1 Olay Body Wash and 1 travel-size Secret AND 1 Olay hand/body lotion (latter two don’t count toward Catalina but are necessary for coupons we’re using.)
Pre-coupon total: $32.45 ($31.16 qualifies for the Catalina – the extra $1.29 is for the trial Secret. The cost of the Olay hand/body lotion will be over this amount as well, but it will be free with coupon, so I did not include it here.)

A Pampers/Bounty scenario
If you need Pampers, this one’s not too bad.
Buy 1 Big Pack Pampers AND one 72ct. Pampers ThickCare Wipes (wipes don’t count toward Catalina but will be FREE with diapers)
Buy 1 Bounty 8-roll paper towel
Buy 1 Crest (a “filler” to get us over $30.)

If you are a “Black Belt” coupon shopper, you may like these Black Belt Scenarios for the P&G $30/$10.
“No Coupon Needed” Deals:
12ct. boxes of Bob’s Candy Canes are $1 – pretty cheap to see -before- those post-Christmas clearance prices!
Deals continuing from previous weeks:
Here’s a deal on Nature’s Farm natural, hormone-free milk! It’s on sale for $2.99 a half-gallon carton (through 1/2.) Look in the refrigerated case near the milk for a tearpad of $2 coupons. With coupon, you’ll pay .99 a carton! This milk is ultra-pasturized too, so the dates are long — mine expire 1/16/11.
Note that while this milk does not state “organic,” it seems to be similar in taste/quality as organic — and for the price, I’ll happily make the switch for a few weeks! I also noticed that at one store, the tearpad had $2 coupons on top, and midway through they switched to $1 coupons. Just a heads-up. Tearpad coupons expire 12/31/10.
Competitor Coupon Deals
Did you know Jewel-Osco also accepts competitor coupons IF they’re for a competitor’s house brand? They sure do — it’s right in their coupon policy, but many shoppers aren’t aware of it!
If you have the Dominick’s Big $60 Thanksgiving Coupon Book, there are coupons that line up nicely to sales on the same Jewel-house-branded items:.
Jewel brand powdered or brown sugar is $1.29 for a 32oz. bag. Use the .50 coupon from the $60 Thanksgiving book and pay $.79!
Jewel’s Shoppers Value brand spice shakers are on sale for $1. Use the .50 coupon from the $60 Thanksgiving book and pay .50!
If you have the Dominick’s “Big $60 Thanksgiving Coupon Book,” Swiss Miss hot cocoa is on sale for $1 a box. Use the $1 coupon in the $60 Thanksgiving book and it’s FREE!
Jewel-Osco has a Facebook page. If you have questions directly for corporate, you can ask them there (and they answer promptly!) They’ve also got the free cookware promo under way, so save your stickers from qualifying receipts to earn free pots and pans.
Are you on the Jewel-Osco email list yet? Jewel has been making coupons available for many different products over the past few months, and they’re usually store coupons that you can stack manufacturer coupons with too. I’d recommend getting on their list if you shop there.

Jewel meat deals:
- Chicken drumsticks, thighs, or split breasts are $1.49/lb.
- Hormel Always Tender pork chops are $1.99/lb.
Jewel seafood deals:
- Arctic Shores frozen fish fillets (12-32oz.) are $6.49 a package. With the 32oz. package, that’s about $3.25/lb! Check your Avenu for a possible Arctic Shores ecoupon to drop this even more.
- Fresh whole catfish are $3.49/lb.
Jewel produce deals:
- 5lb. bags of Value Wise russet potatoes are $1.79 – that’s about .36/lb.
- 8lb. bags of navel oranges are $3.99 – that’s about .50/lb.!
- Fresh Express 120z. bagged salads are .69 each, limit 2 – super price!
- Organic avocados are $1.50 each
(Anytime meat is under $1.99 a pound (no matter what it is — beef, pork, poultry) it’s a buy in my book, because $1.99 is a cycle low and a good benchmark for meat prices — ditto for most produce. Seafood, by its nature, is more expensive per pound, but a good “buy” benchmark is $4 per pound or less for fish or shrimp.)
Let’s go to Dominick’s (View weekly ad)…
Note to my Safeway shoppers reading from outside Chicagoland: In Chicago, Dominick’s currently accepts expired coupons up to one year past the expiration date, so my coupon matchups for Dominick’s deals will include expired coupons. If an expired coupon matchup is provided, it will be noted with (exp) after the date. Also, in Chicago, Dominick’s does not double coupons (as other Safeway stores do) – if your store doubles, you’ll do even better with many of these deals. Also, in Chicago, previously-available ecoupons are being rolled into the “Just For U” section of electronic coupons available at Dominicks.com.
Dominick’s Super Coupons:
These are store coupons found in the weekly Dominick’s flyer, which (in the case of the name-brand products) means they can be stacked with manufacturer coupons for even bigger savings. You can also now load these Super Coupons to your Fresh Values card via Dominicks.com and not have to clip them. Best bets this week?
- Waterfront Bistro 2lb. bags of frozen shrimp – $3.99 per pound ($7.98 for the bag,) limit 2, with Super Coupon. Work this into the $5-off-$15 Frozen Food deal below to get the 2lb. bag as cheaply as… $2.32. Yes, you read that right. I have -never- bought shrimp for $1.16/lb… until this week :)
- Tyson frozen bagged chicken selections 25-30oz. (strips, nuggets) are on sale for $3.77, limit 4, with Super Coupon. Use the $1 coupon from 10/10 SS, 8/15 SS, the Dominick’s $60 Thanksgiving book, the “Make a Muscle” coupon book or the Jewel “Fall Into Savings” coupon book (latter two found in stores earlier this year) and pay $2.77 a bag, a GREAT price. Work them into the $5-off-$15 Frozen Food deal too and you’re looking at ridiculously cheap chicken — about $1.11 per bag!
- Tropicana Pure Premium orange juice – 89oz. bottles are $2.99 each, limit 2, with Super Coupon. Near the Quaker oatmeal, look for tearpads for “Buy Tropicana orange juice, get $2 off Quaker Oatmeal.” Quaker Oatmeal is $2.50 this week at Dominick’s, so if you’re buying the juice, get oatmeal too for just .50!
- Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes and Froot Loops are $1.49 each, limit 4, with Super Coupon. If you have any of the Jewel “Score More Savings” coupon books (available in stores back in June) there’s a $2-off-2 Kellogg’s coupon inside. Use that here, buy two, and pay .98 for two, or .49 a box! And then, if you have the Kellogg’s “Fuel for School” coupon books (available in stores in September) there’s a coupon inside for $2 off store-brand sandwich bags when you buy 2 Kellogg’s cereals. Use that for some cheap/free store-brand bags too! IF YOU HAVE NONE OF THESE COUPONS: Print this $1-off-2 and get two boxes for .99 each!
- Hefty Foam Plates are $1.99 a package, limit 2, with Super Coupon. Use the $1 coupon from the Dominick’s $60 Thanksgiving book. You’ll pay .99 per package! There’s also a $1-off-2 coupon in the 5/16 RP (exp) – with this, pay $2.98 for two, or $1.49 a package.
- The same Super Coupon is also good for $1.99 Hefty One Zip bags, limit 2. Use this $1-off-2 Facebook printable. You’ll pay $1.49 per box! AND, if you have the $25 Fall Savings Dominick’s coupon book, there’s a coupon inside for “Free Hefty OneZip Quart Freezer Bags when you buy Hefty One Zip” – use this and get another FREE box of bags!
- Hefty 85ct. kitchen trash bags (that’s the BIG box) are $8.49 each, limit 3, with Super Coupon. Use the $2 off Hefty coupon from the $25 Fall Savings coupon book and pay $6.49.
Dominick’s has a selection of products on sale for .99. Best bets with these?
Dial liquid pump soaps: They’re on sale for .99. Use the .35 coupon from 10/10 RP and pay .64!
Crest toothpaste: It’s on sale for .99 too. Use the .75 coupons from 11/28 PG and 10/10 PG and pay .24
Buy $15 worth of ANY FROZEN ITEMS, Save $5 Note that this is a COUPON instant-savings deal — you will need the $5-off-$15 frozen coupon from the current 11/26 Dominick’s ad. You may also have received the $5-off-$15 as a Catalina in recent weeks. As usual, Dominick’s has no prices listed in the ad, so I did the collecting for you :) Prices were gathered on a long Sunday afternoon at the Carpentersville Dominick’s. This list may not be reposted without credit to JillCataldo.com. Additionally, I did end up cataloging the entire frozen food section and its prices… if there is something specific you’re looking for a price on, post it in the comments and I’ll try to look it up. I’m posting only the best buys (nine legal pad pages later, I realized nobody would want to read through all these prices and items… my “Deals of the Week” feature is long enough as it is! :) Cinnabon frozen pancakes – $2 Jack’s Pizzas – $2 Ore-Ida frozen potatoes – assorted varieties – $3.50 Smart Ones frozen selections – $2.50-$3.00 Tyson frozen bagged chicken selections 25-30oz. – $5.99 Waterfront Bistro 2lb. medium raw shrimp – $11.98 FILLER IDEAS: Lucerne and Safeway Select 7.5oz. ice cream cups AND Haagen-Dasz AND Ciao Bella 3.5oz. cups – $1. Safeway 14oz. frozen sliced bell peppers – $1.49 |
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. The $5-off-$15 coupon has no restrictions on whether it’s before or after store and manufacturer coupons, so make sure you give it to the cashier FIRST.
2. If you do NOT load your Super Coupons to your Fresh Values card, the regular (pre-coupon) total counts toward your $15.
3. Give the $5-off-$15 coupon first, then manufacturer, then store coupons.

(Jewel’s got Dominick’s beat this week. At Jewel, spending $100 on gift cards gives you a $10 Catalina with no minimum, as opposed to Dominick’s $150 threshold to get a $15-off-$50.)

Coupon booklets currently found at Dominick’s
Note that this is a listing of what you MAY find. Coupon books tend to move very quickly once they become available! Look on displays throughout the store to find them. Some Dominick’s are now keeping these coupon books behind the Customer Service counter, so you may want to ask at your store.
The Big Thanksgiving $60 Coupon Book – here’s what’s inside.
Share Something Delicious – here’s what’s inside.
$50 Kellogg’s “Your Ultimate Holiday Guide – here’s what’s inside.
O Organics – brochure card with “$1 off any O Organics Item” coupons in the store, expiring 12/31/10. These are GREAT coupons for products like organic milk and produce.
Fall Savings (November) $25 Coupon Booklet – small yellow square book released monthly.
Dominick’s meat deals:
- Safeway boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs are $1.99/lb.
Want FREE marinade? Many Dominick’s will marinate your fresh meat free at the meat counter, so depending on what you’re buying, you may want to take advantage of that.
Safeway seafood deals:
- See the Waterfront Bistro shrimp deal outlined above…
Dominick’s produce deals:
- Large navel oranges are .50/lb.
- Fresh Express bagged salads are .99 each. There are some very old expired $1 coupons from Jewel books (back in February!) that would make these free, or .50 one in the Jewel Preferred Card book (also very old, from summer 2009!) that would make these .49. (There’s a printable for the “blends” variety floating around, but the “Blends” are not on sale for .99.) And, if you have any old tearpads for “Buy 2 Fresh Express, get 2lbs. bananas free,” this is my favorite sale to use those with. Two pounds of salad AND two pounds of bananas for $1.98!
Heading over to Meijer, here are your best deals for Meijer stores in in Algonquin, Aurora, Bloomingdale, Bolingbrook, Elgin, McHenry, Oswego, Plainfield, Rolling Meadows, St. Charles, and the Indianapolis area: (View weekly ad)…
It’s really a QUIET week at Meijer. And, again, this isn’t unusual — most grocery stores are very light on the sales the week after a holiday (assuming you’re still eating Thanksgiving leftovers!) But there are a few deals to note, like…
Bestlife Buttery Spread is on sale for .99 again. Use this $1 coupon and it’s FREE!
Pam cooking spray and Wesson oil are $2 each. With the $1 coupons in the $60 Dominick’s Thanksgiving coupon book, pay $1 each…
“No Coupon Needed” Deals:
64oz. bottles of Meijer apple juice are $1.50…
Are you a Meijer Mperks member yet? Mperks is a different set of electronic Meijer coupons. They’re attached to your cellphone number, but aside from one text message to activate your account, you do not need to use text messaging to continually use them. Once you register with Meijer Mperks, you log into the Mperks website and click the electronic coupons you’d like to load to your account. Then, when you’re at the checkout, type your cellphone number into the keypad at the register, and your coupons come off automatically.
Meijer meat deals:
- 4lb. bags of Meijer frozen chicken wings or boneless, skinless thighs are $5.99 – that’s about $1.50/lb.
Meijer produce deals:
- 4lb. bags of navel oranges are $2.50 – that’s about .63/lb.
- 3lb. bags of yellow onions are $2 – that’s about .66/lb.
Note that Meijers in other states are on different schedules. The Illinois Meijers are about a week behind on the sales vs. Indiana/Michigan. If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store… Confusing? Yes.
AND, if you shop at the Illinois NILES or ORLAND Meijer locations, they haven’t been following the same sale flyer as the other Illinois Meijers, under the convoluted reasoning that because the stores are newer, people will shop there -without- as many products being on sale. O-kay.
For my Rockford-area shoppers (and Kroger shoppers too!) here are your Hilander deals (View weekly ad)…
It’s a super, super light week at Hilander. The flyer only has two pages this week!
Purex laundry detergent is $1.99 for a 32-load bottle. Print this .35 printable coupon (upper right corner of the screen “Send to Friend, Get a Coupon”) which doubles to .70 and pay $1.29! That’s about .04 a load!
“No Coupon Needed” Deals:
Kroger cream cheese is $1 a brick.
Hilander meat deals:
- Boneless pork loin is $1.99/lb.
Hilander produce deals:
- 4lb. bags of navel oranges are $2.98 – that’s .75/lb.
Remember that Hilander doubles coupons up to .55 face value every day! You are only allowed to double two of the SAME coupon per day though — additional coupons will ring at face value. (Split your trips if you’re stocking up!)
Readers outside Illinois will want to check with their local Kroger or Kroger-affiliated stores to determine how they handle coupon doubling.
Off to Target
(View weekly ad)…
Please read this supplemental post about the way coupons are scanning at Target, particularly with regard to the gift card deals noted below. There is a serious glitch in the way Target’s registers currently scan coupons for multiple items and coupons involved in gift-card transactions. Cashiers have been instructed to manually approve every coupon, but BE AWARE before doing any coupon deals at Target..
It’s pretty quiet at Target this week too — most of their ad is featuring holiday gifts versus groceries… but here’s a little deal on NYC (New York Color) Nail Polish. It’s on sale for $1.79 a bottle. Print this $1 manufacturer coupon and stack it with this $1 store coupon. Voila! It’s FREE!
Reader yamiagemini spotted FREE Men’s Nivea body wash this week too! It’s on sale for $2.99. The 10/17 RP has a $3 coupon that makes this FREE! (Note that the coupon expires 11/30!)
“No Coupon Needed” Deals:

NOTE: Wags is running a “Friends and Family” sale on December 1, in which you’ll get an extra 15% off with this coupon!
The Vicks/Nyquil Register Rewards deal is back, and it’s even better this week! They’re both on sale for $5. Buy two and get $5 back in Register Rewards. The coupons make this one so much fun… the 10/10 PG has $4 off the Sinex variety, and the 10/31 PG has a $1.50. With one of each coupon, buy two, pay $4.50 and get $5 back! FREE and a little moneymaker! With TWO $4 coupons, this is again free, plus a big $3 moneymaker!
AND… did you see the “Buy Two Vicks, Get Puffs Free” coupon in the new 11/28 PG insert? If you’re doing the deal, throw in a box of Puffs and get it free too!
Salonpas Pain Patches 5-packs are on sale for $5.99. Buy them and get $5.99 back in Register Rewards (which they’re calling Jingle Cash for the holidays, by the way!) making them FREE!
Gillette Fusion Pro-Glide razors are on sale for $9.99. When you buy one, you’ll get $5 back in RRs. Use the $4 coupon from 11/28 PG, pay $5.99 and get $5 back… making your “expensive” razor just .99!
Holiday M&Ms (9.9-12.6oz) are a good buy this week too. They’re on sale four-for-$10. Buy 4 bags and get $5 back in RRs. Use coupons to make this even better… 11/14 RP has a $1-off-2. With one coupon, pay $9 and get $5 back – that knocks them down to $1 a bag. With two coupons, pay $8 and get $5 – that’s .75 a bag!
Coupon booklets currently found at Walgreens
Vitamins and Supplements – $40 in Walgreens store coupons for vitamins and supplements. All expire 4/30/11.
And finally, over at CVS (View weekly ad)……
Complete Multipurpose Solution is on sale for $9.99. Buy it and get $9.99 back in Extra Care Bucks, making it FREE! (Limit 1.)
Suave deodorant is on sale for .89. Use the .75 coupon in 11/14 RP and pay .14!
Dawn Hand Renewal dish detergent is .88. Use the $1 coupon from the Home Made Simple “Organize In Style” coupon book to take it home FREE, or use the .50 coupons from 11/28 PG and 10/31 PG and pay .38 a bottle!
Note that the Dawn is also part of the “Spend $20, Get $5 ECBs” deal running on P&G products at CVS. I didn’t see anything super-fabulous to write home about with this deal… unless you have 23 of those .50 Dawn coupons. If you do, buying 23 bottles will cost you $20.24 pre-coupon, but $8.74 after coupon. Pay $8.74, get $5 back, and it knocks your 23 Dawns down to about .16 a bottle.
And you will never need to buy dish detergent again for at least two years… or more.
CVS Tip: Remember to always scan your CVS card at the Coupon Center scanner in the store — it prints bonus coupons for you! And, CVS is now advertising a Thursday preview of the coming Sunday’s ad at www.cvs.com/weeklyad, so check in on Thursday…

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)
And, also, as always, a huge thanks to the many readers who posted and emailed deals that made it into today’s Deals of the Week! We’re all in this together, and I sincerely appreciate everyone who spots and passes along good deals that we can all enjoy :) Thank you… to YOU!
* (All You magazine is not a requirement for using the site, but if you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s a cheap ($2.49 an issue) magazine that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically $50-$100 worth per issue! You can subscribe to All You online and save about $10/year off the cover price. And depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

An Olay and Secret scenario
If you have four $5-off-Olay-and-Secret coupons (and you DIDN’T use them last week at Wags…)
Buy 4 Olay Body Washes ($23.96) and 4 Secret trial-size deodorants ($5.16.)
Use four $5 coupons.
Pay $9.12 and get $10 Catalina for the Gift Card Mall — all FREE after Catalina and a small moneymaker!
AND.. use as many “Buy Olay Body Wash, Get Olay Lotion Free” coupons as you have here too, up to four:
Confused….am I correct in assuming that we are supposed to use two coupons for one item? How is that correct? Or am I supposed to do the deal with the body wash/secret separate from the deodorant/lotion deal.

I did this deal at CVS yesterday:
Bought 3 each Pantene conditioner and shampoo (3.33 x 6 = $19.98) plus 1 Dawn Hand renewal ($0.88) as filler for a pre-coupon total of $20.86. Used 3 buy Pantene get free shampoo coupons, one $2/2 Pantene coupon and one Dawn hand renewal $0.50 coupon and spent $8.37 out of pocket and got $5.00 back in ECB’s for a net of $3.37! I’m still fairly new to this but that’s the best primatily Pantene deal I’ve come across so I thought I’d share.

On the Jewel insert it says in very small print that the minimum purchase is calculated after manufacturer coupons so I don’t think the scenarios will work

I went yesterday and did not get the catalina. Here is what I purchased at the preferred price and the coupons I used:
4 pantene (no get extra% on bottles) 3.50 ea = 14.00
120 ct bounce sheets 4.99
Cascade pac 20 ct- 4.29
2- Mr. Clean 40oz- 5.18
1- Oral B advantage tb – 2.50
30.96 total
Used:
B1G1 conditioner / shampoo -3.50
Mr. Clean -.75
Mr. Clean -.50
Cascade -.75
Bounce -.5
Pantene Buy 2 get $2 off -2.00
Oral B tb -.75
AND a $20.00 Jewel catalina from previous gift card purchase is worth mentioning
Every single thing I purchased was in the pictures on the ad. Any ideas why my catalina for the $10 off the gift card didn’t work? Was it because in the same transaction, I used a $20 cat the I had received for buying gift cards?
Oh, and PS- my cashier didnt give me double stickers either. I had to go to the cust serv desk like I do most trips after the purchase to get the correct total.
linzer001 says
Could you do this deal?
8 Pantene @ $3.50 each = $28
2 Puffs @ $1 each = $2
Total = $30
Use 4 “buy one Pantene, get one Shampoo free” coupons
Use 2 $1/2 Pantene (for the 4 you’re paying for) coupons
Total coupon value taken off of $30 price = $16
Total Catalina value = $10
Grand total = $4 for 2 Puffs and 8 Pantene’s
You’re over half way there for the spend $50 get $20 rebate, do this deal twice (if you have that many coupons) and you’ll get $20 back, which would end up making this a $12 Money Maker! Plus you get 4 Puffs!
Does this deal work?
Thanks

Yes, it’s true; sometimes I really HATE my Meijer store! I knew exactly what items I wanted, how much I wanted to spend and my coupons were all in hand. I went in there today for exactly 14 items! And four of those items were doubles. I had a “Save $3/$30 order” CAT I wanted to use as it expired today. My order was just one each of apples, oranges, linguine, PAM spray, and two each of Ritz crackers, Ragu pasta sauce, Keebler crackers, Ball Park franks, and King’s Hawaiian bread. As usual, I made the HUGE error of going to the self-serve checkout. I scanned everything with no problems. I tried to scan the $3 CAT which of course would not go in without the “Golden Blessing” of the Watcher. I hit the “help” button and called for assistance. Two Watchers were standing there talking. After many minutes one of them walked toward me and kept right on going. I continued to wait while the second Watcher stood there looking around the store as if scanning the sky for the Northern Lights. Finally, I raised my arms in a gesture as if to say, “Hello? I need HELP here!” Finally the Sky Gazer came over and gave the Golden Blessing for the $3 CAT and walked away. I had seven other coupons to enter. Only three would go through. I continued trying for at least another two minutes and got one more to go in. The last three would not go through AT ALL! Again, I hit the “help” button and again the two of them stood there talking…and talking…and talking. I kept hitting and hitting and hitting…well, you get the idea…the “help” button with NO RESPONSE. Finally, I said in a loud voice, “I’d like to void my sale!” That brought one of them over with a very unpleasant expression on her face. I told her my last three coupons wouldn’t scan. She said, “You know, you can enter these coupons YOURSELF!” to which I replied, “Yes, I know and I have been trying to for well over five minutes. And I already entered four coupons prior to these not going in.” Sheesh; she was rude! Then she said, “Oh, well I can do these for you but just so you know, you should be doing this yourself!” Like SHE was doing ME a favor! Then she walked away. Naturally, the computer then froze up because after I swiped my card and entered my PIN it just sat there and, yes, you guessed it! I had to call for help YET AGAIN!!! And again, it took many minutes for one of the two Sky Gazers to acknowledge me and come over to help. It took me WAY over 30 minutes to check out FOURTEEN ITEMS!!! I wound up spending $20.39 OOP. I saved a total of $23.31 with coupon and non-coupon savings but I am so aggravated every time I leave that store I might just quit going there.

I did this CVS scenario yesterday with my husband (yes, I did take him with me so he sees how much fun I have on Monday’s).
4 – Puffs for 97 cents = $3.88
5 – Dawns for 88 cents = $4.40
5 – Crest for $2.75 = $13.75, for a total of $22.03 pre coupon.
Used the following coupons:
Puffs – 4 x 0.25 cents = $1.00
Dawns – $1 and 4 x $0.50 = $ 3.00
Crest – 4 x $1.00 and a $0.75 = $4.75
and a $4 RR
Final total $22.03 – $12.75 (coupons plus RR) = $9.28 and I got another $5 RR.
Jewel,
Olay Bar soap; 4x 5.99 = $23.96
Olay Body Wash 1 x 5.99 = $5.99
Puffs to bring the total above $30, sub total $30.95
Coupons:
3 coupons of $5.00 on any Bar soap or body wash with the purchase of 3 Secrets trial size, 2 x $1 off coupons of any body wash or soap, FREE body lotion with the purchase of a body wash, FREE Old Spice spray with the purchase of two Secret deodorants, $1.25 Cat
Final price, not counting the 3 trial size Secrets was $12.70 ($16.57, with it) and the $10 Gift card, plus the two Free items.

I am not sure if anyone has posted this buy my Target has Beggin Strips dog snacks for $1.29. They are the 6oz bags. I just received a Target coupon book in the mail that has $1 off Beggin Strips (Target coupon). The 11-14 R1 has $4/4. Great deal!
I assume they adjust the $1 off coupon and don’t apply it to all four. But it is a great deal anyway.

Don’t buy the 25% bonus size Pantene Shampoo & Conditioner. As is most often the case Bonus Size products are not on the UPC list. For future reference bonus size will often cause problems at other stores as well such as CVS and Walgreens.
Only the smaller 4 oz size Crest Pro Health will work for the deal…the larger ones are not included.
The sizes may be what is causing you problems, not the coupon use!!

Is anyone else having a problem using the Palermo pizza coupon? The Algonquin Jewel told me today that it’s a fraudulent coupon and they were instructed to not accept them. This is the same lady who told me a couple weeks ago that she wouldn’t accept my oatmeal coupon because the last 4 digits were the same. Sure the last four were the same but the rest of the number was different and it had a different expiration date. Ugh. I’m just wondering if it would be worth it to drive to another store of if they are truly not accepting them.
Thanks

The Target coupon for the NYC nail polish is actually on coupons.com, not the Target website. So you need to get the manu coupon from All You, and the store coupon from coupons.com (under “personal care”) and you should be all set.

I went to Best Buy yesterday to buy Fantasia and
The Sorceror’s Apprentice. I had a $10 coupon for
EACH movie. Also Best Buy advertised that if you
bought both movies you got an additional instant
$10.00 off. The clerk insisted that I couldn’t
do their discount and my coupons too. He didn’t
even try to scan them. I ended up buying each one
separately with my coupons. DUMB ME!
After thinking it over when I got home I printed off
two more $10.00 coupons. Luckily Disney lets you
print a max of 2 of the same coupon. I took myself
over to Target where they have the same deal going
with the extra $10.00 off. I bought my movies with
no problem for a total of $30.00 off.
Today I’ll have to truck back to Best Buy to return
the other movies. I’m sorry I wasted my time and
coupons there. I will say that both Target and Best Buy
adjusted my prices though. One movie was more at
Target and the other was more at Best Buy.

Hi. I am a little confused, can someone explain? When it says Spend $30 to get a $10 Catalina, what does the $30 mean? Is it the store prices (sale or regular prices of the items) that add up to the $30?
Example – If my items on sale total $31 but I use $15 in coupons, does that qualify for the Catalina?
I think I am confused because when Jill shows the prices on the website, what prices are those? The regular price of the item or the sale price of the item? The Jewel offer this week is a good example.
Thanks!

Today is the best day to head out to Walgreens. 4 bags of MM came to be 37 cents each after 15%FF discount, $2 in coupons and 5 RR (Jingle Cash).
I also bought the Salon pas patches for 5.09 after FF discount, $1 off and got $6 in Jingle cash, This one was a money maker for me of $1.91.
Last, Gillete Fusion came to be only 49 cents since the price drops to 8.49 after the 15% FF.
Still thinking to buy the razor blades tonight since they are selling for 29.99, with the FF discount is close to 15 and you get 10 in jingle cash, not bad. Around 50% savings!!! (Well, I might have to throw a shaving cream or something in there).

OK So i’ll just put this out there… I’m on link. Today i learned the hard way that you cannot mix super couponing and Link. Apparently if you use coupons on something that is not food Link will not pay for your food. So much for my cheap shampoo and body wash :( instead of costing me just the $15 or whatever it was it cost me my entire food purchase too :( So for anyone else who is broke and trying to make this work for them, make sure you do your orders separately or you will pay for trying to save.

If I buy an item (let’s say M&M’s) and get the $5 RR, if I use the M&M RR the next time I go to Walgreens and buy more M&M’s will I get another RR? Or will the system know I have already done this?

Watch your printed bar codes. Sometimes a red line may show up. If it does, just go over the line in black. The registers don’t recognize the red lines and then the cashier has trouble scanning the Q’s.
Also, SOME not all, cashiers will be quick to say that it is not a good Q since they don’t want the hassle of manually entering the Q.
I must say that I have had GREAT CS at my Jewel..especially now that they have gotten to know me better and recognize me. They are most helpful and always wear a smile.
Thanks Algonquin/LITH Jewel CS! Merry Christmas!
