Hello, Super-Couponers! Can you believe November is here already? Hope everyone had a great Halloween!
A big welcome to our new readers from this past week’s Barrington, Roselle, Marengo and Antioch classes… and to any readers from Slate.com as well. While my blog focuses primarily on Chicagoland deals, the deals at Target, Walgreens, and CVS work nationwide!
Now… ready to save big?
If you’re new to the site, take a quick minute to read Using this site and bring yourself up to speed on all the coupon lingo and abbreviations. It’s a good idea to save the grocery and drugstore flyers from both Wednesday and Sunday each week to have on hand & refer to too as you go through the deals! And, if you’re new to couponing in general, check out my Super-Couponing website for a list of coupon classes (most are FREE!) and easy instructions on how to start using coupons effectively!

Grocery Deals
Starting at Jewel, let’s take home some cheap cereal! Kellogg’s Froot Loops and Apple Jacks are on sale for $1.88 a box… and the blinkie coupon dispenser in the cereal aisle contains $1 coupons for Kellogg’s Froot Loops and Apple Jacks! Yes, sometimes these deals are just this easy… and you can take these home for just .88 a box.
Last week’s deal on Wholly Salsa continues… it’s $2.99, buy one get one free. We’re going to use two coupons on this deal and really bring that price down — and with two $1 coupons from either 10/25 SS or printables, pay just .99 for two, or under .50 each!
Sunday’s Jewel flyer has a LOT of store coupons inside, and these can be stacked with manufacturer coupons for even bigger savings! Best bets here?
Cottonelle 18-ct toilet paper. It’s $12.99. With the $5 store coupon from the Jewel flyer, and a $1 manufacturer coupon from the blinkie dispenser near the product, pay just $6.99 for the 18-roll pack. Not bad if you need it…
Arctic Shores large crab legs. The coupon is for $5 off a package. As coupon shoppers, one of our best tips is to use a high-value coupon on a smaller/lower priced item to take it home as inexpensively as possible. Look for smallish bags of crab legs here — my aunt picked up a package for $7.76… that was just $2.76 after this coupon!
Over at Dominick’s, there are again some Dominick’s Super Coupons in their Wednesday ads. You can stack manufacturer coupons with any of these that you may have manufacturer coupons for too (use www.coupontom.com or www.hotcouponworld.com [expired database]) for matchups.
Best SUPER COUPONS this week?
Tide: It’s $9.99 with the Super Coupon. Load the $1 off powdered Tide ecoupon from www.pgesaver.com, and stack it with the $1 Tide coupon from 11/1 PG (or any expireds.) You’ll pay just $7.99 for the 142-oz. Tide…
Crest: It’s $1.99 with the Super Coupon. Stack the .75 ecoupon from www.pgesaver.com with the .75 coupon from 10/11 PG, 11/1 PG or any expireds you have. Pay .49…
10lb. bag of potatoes: It’s $1.99 with the Super Coupon – a great price even without any other coupons!
Pepperidge Farm Baked Naturals crackers: They’re $1.99 with the Super Coupon. Stack this with the $1 coupon from 11/1 SS and pay just .99…
Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes – 2 for $3 with Super Coupon. Use the $1.50 off 2 printable and pay $1.50 for two, or .75 each!
Lucerne butter – $1.49 with Super Coupon for a 1 lb. package. Greast deal with no other coupons at all!
A note on Dominick’s Super Coupons: All of the Super Coupons require a total purchase of $20 or more to use. But, the “Minimum $20 purchase” applies to the REGULAR, non-sale price of those items. Really! It’s even spelled out very well on Safeway’s corporate site:
What does “minimum $10 (or $20) purchase required” mean? To use store coupons that include a minimum purchase requirement, you must spend a minimum dollar amount on that shopping trip. You will reach the minimum purchase amount based upon total purchases before your Club Card discount is applied. This total will include the coupon item’s regular price, not the discounted price. For example, the regular retail price of a box of Cheerios (before coupon and before Club Card discounts) will count toward the minimum purchase required in order to use the Cheerios coupon.
So, knowing this, getting over that $20 mark isn’t as hard as it seems. Mix and match what you like, and remember too that if you work any other items into your trip from this week’s deals, they too will count toward your $20.
At Meijer, there’s a good coupon on the cover of the flyer for $5 off any fresh meat purchase of $15 or more. With these coupons, I’ll typically look for the lowest per-pound item (coupon is good on beef, pork and poultry) and then use this coupon to bring the price down even more.
Grapes are a good price too at Meijer this week – .99/lb for black seedless or red seeded…
Note that Meijers in other states are on different schedules. The Illinois Meijers are about a week behind on the sales vs. Indiana/Michigan. If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store… Confusing? Yes. This is why I don’t blog too many Meijer deals…
Here’s a new tidbit about Target… if you take reusable bags with for your shopping trip, you’ll get a .05 savings on your total for every bag you bring and use! We like free money :)
Every November we see good and crazy deals on Glade products, and this November is already no exception. Target’s got a promo running on Holiday Glade products through 12/15. Buy any 5 Holiday Glade products and get a $5 Target gift card.
The coupons to use here? Two Buy One, Get One Free Glade coupons – here and here. With enough coupons, pay $5… and get $5! FREE Glade. The 11/1 SS has MANY more Glade coupons for you to work into this deal too, including B1G1Fs for candles, scented oil warmers, and more… and, many of the candle tins have $1.50 coupons inside too. (DON’T open the tins before you buy them… buy first, then use the other coupons to do another round…)
Continuing yet again this week, bags of Chef Michael’s dog food are $4.49 at Target. Use the $3 manufacturer coupon from 10/11 SS and stack it with the $1 Target coupon from 8/30 SS. You’ll pay just .49 a bag!
For my Rockford-area readers, Hilander has a great “Buy 10, save $5 instantly” sale going. There are a BUNCH of things in the current sale – check your ad for reference. But some of these things, when purchased in quantities of ten, become free after coupon, as .50 comes off the price of each item.

Also still free at Hilander… Reach dental floss! It’s on sale for a buck, and with the $1 coupons from 6/14 SS and 10/4 SS, it’s free. The 3/15 SS has a .50 coupon which will double to $1, making a third floss free for you too :)
Have you seen the electronic coupons for Hilander/Kroger stores? SoftCoin recently added support for Kroger stores (including Hilander) for their new electronic coupons for Unilever products! Click here to check them out… they load to your card the same way that Cellfire/PGE/ShortCuts do, meaning we now have FOUR sets of electronics we can stack with at Kroger stores. WOW!
Drugstore Deals
Heading to Walgreens, the big deals of the week is on Lubriderm products! Buy 3 and get $8 in Register Rewards. Best bet here? The 6-ounce fragrance free “Daily Moisture” variety. These sell for $3.79. Use the $2 coupon from 10/11 RP and two more printables. With 3 $2 coupons, pay $5.37 and get $8 back in RRs! Lubriderm moneymaker!
And finally, over at CVS, Listerine mouthwash is cheap! It’s $3.99 with $1 coming back to you in Extra Care Bucks. Use the $2 coupon from either 3/15 SS or 4/26 RP, pay $1.99 and get $1 back… you’ll take this home for just 99 cents!
Forum reader Coupon Kid spotted FREE Dawn dish detergent at CVS too this week! If you receive the Home Made Simple coupon book from P&G (direct mail) there’s a coupon for $1 off Dawn Hand Renewal dish soap inside. The Dawn is on sale this week for .97… which means… it’s FREE!

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)
* (All You magazine is not a requirement for using the site, but if you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s a cheap ($2.49 an issue) magazine that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically 20-30 of them. Many websites are now tracking the All You coupons and matching them to deals, just as they do with the newspaper coupon inserts. You can subscribe to All You online and save about $10/year off the cover price. And depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

Artic Shoes? Just in case it’s cold in the freezer section ;-)
Sorry – I couldn’t help myself. I know it’s late and I appreciate you posting the deals. :-)

There’s a new “Diabetes and You” coupon booklet at Walgreens that has a $1.00 Walgreens coupon for Lubriderm — use that to take off another $3.00. Pay $2.37, get back $8.00!
Also, I heard this will be a month long deal.

Used the 5.00 off coupon with the 2.00 blinkie from the shrimp ring extravaganza last week. Super cheap, Super crabby.

As far as I know you need 5 Glade products to get the $5 gift card. I’ve been doing this:
5 candle tins
5 refills
Use 5 $1.50/1 oil candle coupons (found inside the tins) & 5 buy a tin, get a refill free coupon. Comes out to be a good MM!

What about the Kelloggs at Taget? What are the best scenarios for this??
straysrus says
I tried to buy 4 Snuggle at Kroger for the $5.00 off 10 item deal with my $3.00 coupons. The cashier said Kroger has a new policy that they will only accept two of the identical coupons. So I could only use 2 $3.00 off coupons.

You mention that the Jewel ad isn’t out yet. Can we start shopping the deals now even though it isn’t advertised??
Also, is the paper towel deal one that you do with or without the preferred card?
Sorry! I’m still pretty new to this but want to use my Catalina’s that expire tomorrow on the paper towel deal.
Jenn Uren says
Has anyone tried this with the 6 oz size? The ad specifies the 16 oz. size at $6.99 each, which, if the larger size is required, does not make this a MM.
Gertiedeal says
Does anyone know if the Target glade deal had to be from the “holiday” line. I’ve seen posts that just mention buying the tins or refill, but no one has specified the “flavor” to be purchased. I thought the deal was on holiday candles. Anyone?????
dancingwolves says
your warning regarding the paper towels. Thought I would never get 16 again and lo and behold today they had boxes stacked in the aisles with the lids torn so you just had to pick up a box and take it to the checkout. Cashier said don’t take them all out just let me know if you have 16 or 32.

My mom and I went to jewel yesterday to do the 9 ice cream deal. We’ve done these black belt deals before, but for some reason we only got $15 back. We scanned the ice creams and the total was like 60 something, then scanned our preferred card and it came to $27 and some change. Can anybody tell me why this might not have worked? Is it on certain ice cream varieties only? Thanks!

I also had a problem with getting 9 ice creams and getting the $30 cat at my Jewel. Bought 9 and only got $15 cat, so I went to the service desk and asked for the refund, stating I wanted to purchase them again and add one additional ice cream. At first she told me she was informed by her manager that they were NOT giving any refunds for the Breyers Ice Cream, but she asked again, and the manager approved. I bought 10 ice creams and again only received $15 cat. The girl at the register informed me that the cat only prints for the regular full fat ice creams. So the only thing I can think of is that one of my ice creams was not on the list. Oh well, sad for me. This was the Jewel in Yorkville. On the paper towels, 2 of my stores had none in stock 2 days before the sale even started and still don’t have any. Some stores are holding paper towels in shopping carts for people who called early in the morning, but none on the shelves for the people actually in the store shopping.
Judy B. says
I just checked all my UPCs against the spreadsheet and they all match up. Confused as to why I didn’t get the cats.

Buying 9 Breyers will NOT trigger a $30 cat, over the past weekend but not now. You’ll pay around $27 doing it this route but you will only get $15 in cats back!
You actually need to purchase 11, pay $32.89, get $30 in cats back. You might want to update your post, so people don’t go out and buy 9 and wonder why they only got $15 in cats back.

I’m new to the wesite and very excited about all the deals, but have a few questions. This week Jewel has 18ct Cottonelle toilet paper on sale for 12.99 and it states there is a 5.00 in the jewel flyer. I have a jewel flyer and it does not have a 5.00 coupon in it. Also, it states that if you buy 16 rolls of the Scott paper towels and use 4 – 1.00 off 4 rolls you’ll get back 15.00 and wind up paying on 1.64 for 16 rolls. Sounds great, but do you get back 15.00 on your next purchase or is 15.00 deducted automatically from you grocery bill. Can someone please explain.

Just a quick note-
A Kroger team member mentioned to me last night that the current promotion will continue next week (11/9 – 11/16) with some different items on the list. :)
I guess I’ll have to sharpen my scissors again! :)

I went tonight and got 6 Lipton Pasta Sides, 3 Skippy Naturals, 1 Lipton Onion Soup Mix, 1 chex mix, and 3 Natural Skippy PB. No Cat…..the lady at the service desk said that Skippy Narurals were probably not part of the deal.
Anyone have luck with the Skippy Natural?

I have read and reread this and am not understanding. Please help!
The ad says if you spend $30 you will get $15 in cats. So if I buy 11 Breyers Ice Cream’s and spenc $32.89 how would I get $30 in cats? Wouldn’t it be $15?
and
The scotts towels If I buy 16 I’m only spending $20.64 so how do I get the $15 cat?
I’m new at this and thought I understood but I dont. :) Please help

Duracell Batteries (AA & AAA 4ct, C & D 2ct, and 9v 1ct) are on sale this week for $1.88.
Use the $1 off any Duracell batteries from this month’s P&G insert and get them for free after the coupon doubles. The register will not allow an overage, but that’s ok, free is good! :)
I purchased 3 packs in each transaction got a $2 ONYO cat. each time. :-D
