Hello, Super-Couponers! If you’re experiencing load delays at the moment, please bear with things – my blog’s receiving absolutely unprecedented traffic at the moment. On Sunday night, tens of thousands of users logged on (waiting for details of a certain Catalina sale, were you?) and the server, which I was told had scalable, “unlimited capacity” with its previous upgrade earlier this year… evidently does not. Hang in there. Even my web host was surprised, musing that they could not believe almost thirty thousand people want to read about grocery deals at the same time. (If they only knew!)
Now, I hope you’re ready to park yourself in the checkout lane at your favorite Jewel store for a while, as one of our favorite and most fabulous sales is back… Jewel’s ConAgra $25/10 Catalina! Everyone should be taking home enough cans of soup this week to last through an entire winter season, and then some. All the ConAgra “usual suspects” are on sale too. And if you’re the kind of person who likes to donate to your local food pantry, you’ll have the opportunity to be extra generous this week… with very little financial outlay (we’re talking pennies!)
A big welcome to everyone from my Minooka, North Aurora, and Elgin classes last week. And, to my new readers, if you’re interested in learning to save on almost everything you buy at the grocery store, why not attend a Super-Couponing workshop? Many are FREE, and in one hour you’ll learn how to cut your grocery bill 50-70%! This week’s Super-Couponing classes are taking place in Plainfield, Oak Brook (Super-Couponing 2) and Bolingbrook. Learn more!
This week’s newspaper contained three inserts: SmartSource (SS,) RedPlum (RP,) and Procter and Gamble (PG!) (The P&G insert alone paid for the cost of your paper this week, as the $1 off Gain Dish Detergent will net you a free bottle at Wal-Mart, or anywhere else it’s priced under a buck!) Parade Magazine also has a $1 off 2 Kellogg’s Cinnabon products too, so grab that before you toss your paper. AND, in the Sports section, around pages 12-14, there’s a coupon for .50 off a Tribune at Jewel, expiring 11/30. Not bad if you want to pick up extras on the cheap!
Now… ready for your Deals of the Week? You may enjoy one of the greatest sales Jewel coupon shoppers know and love – the ConAgra $25/$10 Catalina, which will have you taking home FREE Healthy Choice soup, bargain Angel Soft toilet paper, Sparkle paper towels, Pillsbury cake mixes, Hungry Jack syrup, Snack Pack puddings, Orville Redenbacher popcorn, Wesson oil and bunches of other products for less money than you can imagine; FREE TransOcean crabmeat, a cheap Classico/Barilla pasta deal, .99 Mott’s apple juice, FREE Idahoan pouch potatoes, .49 Oreo cookies (the big pack!), FREE Noxzema Spa Shave razors, FREE Halls Refresh, .25 Snickers, FREE Dawn Hand Renewal dish detergent, FREE Gain dish detergent, .64 Dial bar soap 3-packs… so let’s get started!

Grocery Deals
Starting at Jewel… before we get to the insanity that is ConAgra, here are a few other little deals running at Jewel this week too (you WERE going to buy more than just ConAgra products this week, right?)
TransOcean imitation crab meat is on sale for $1. Use this $1 printable to take it home for… NOTHING! (Why not print two and get two?)
Aren’t we overdue for a decent diaper deal? Jewel has a Catalina deal running on boxed Pampers and Huggies diapers. Buy a box (must be a box, not a jumbo plastic pack) of Pampers or Huggies and get a $5 Catalina. We, of course, need to make this better with coupons… this week’s 10/10 RP insert has a Jewel STORE coupon for $5 off the big box of Pampers (88-144ct. diapers.) The 9/26 PG has a $1 manufacturer coupon to stack, or check any Pampers home mailers you might have received recently — I have one with two $3 coupons that came within the last month.
The 88-144ct. Value Pack Pampers are currently selling for $29.99 (ouch.) With the $5 coupon and the $1 coupon, pay $23.99 and get a $5 Catalina back. That’s $18.99 — a dollar less than the current Big Pack Pampers are selling for ($19.99.) If you buy the 144ct., that’s .13 per diaper — for the 88ct., you’re looking at .22 per diaper.
If you want the Big Pack Pampers instead (60-92ct.) you won’t be able to use the $5 coupon. With a $1 manufacturer coupon, you’d pay $18.99 and get $5 back, knocking the Value Pack pampers to $13.99 for the box. If you buy the 92ct., that’s .15 per diaper — for the 60ct., you’re looking at .23 each with this deal.
This is one of those rare deals where the larger size IS a little cheaper per diaper, because that $5 store coupon stacks in nicely. And of course, if you have higher-dollar-value manufacturer coupons to work in here (check your Catalinas too!) you can make these deals even better.
Also note that the Catalina you get specifies it’s good for $5 off your next “baby purchase.” The $5 Catalina deal runs through 10/31.
Along with that, one of my readers spotted a little deal on baby formula. Similac Ready to Feed is on sale for $3.99. Use this $3 coupon and take it home for .99!
Idahoan pouch potaoes are on sale for $1. Like Idahoan on Facebook and print a $1 coupon, making these free! Idahoan are also part of a national Catalina deal – buy 4 and get a $1 Catalina. If you print 2 coupons and buy 4, you’ll pay $2 and get $1 back – four for $1 is .25 each… or just enjoy two FREE.
Jewel is running a “Buy 5 and they’re $1.75 each” sale on Kellogg’s cereals, snacks, Cheez-its, and Keebler crackers or cookies. You must buy 5 to get the $1.75 price.
Use coupons to make these prices even better:
– $1-off-2 Cheez-Its – 8/29 RP
– $1 off Keebler Fudge Shoppe Coconut cookies – printable
With one $1-off-2 and two $1 printables, buy 2 Cheez-It, 2 Keebler Coconut and a 5th of your choice, and pay $5.75 for 5, or $1.15 each.
With access to multiple computers — with five $1 printables, buy 5 Keebler Coconut and pay $3.75 for 5, or .75 each.
Here’s a little Catalina deal on McCormick Spices and Extracts. Buy two and get a $1.50 Catalina, or buy three and get a $3 Catalina (through 10/31.) Reader Letsshop notes that there are $1-off-3 McCormick tearpads in the aisle too. Most spices and extracts range from $1.50-$4.99. The 10/3 RP has a $1 off vanilla extract coupon too. If you bought three $1.50 spices and used a $1 tearpad coupon, you’d pay $3.50 and get a $3 Catalina back… .50 for three spices! Not bad :)
Just in time for fall, here’s a deal combo on caramel apple dip and apples! 16oz. T. Marzetti caramel apple dips are on sale for $3 each. Buy two and save $2 instantly on a 3lb. bag of apples! (The apples sell for $2.99.) So, you’re at $6.99 for two dips and 3lbs. of apples.
Make this better with coupons… 9/19 SS has $1 off T. Marzetti caramel dip, and the October issue of All You has a .75 coupon too. With one of each, pay $5.24 for all. With two $1 coupons, pay $4.99 for all.
64oz. cartons of Minute Maid orange juice are on sale for $2. If you have any of the $1-off-2 Minute Maid coupons from the current Jewel Pharmacy tearpads (they’re found in doctors’ offices, not in the store or pharmacy itself) buy two and pay $1.50 each!
And, another little beverage deal involving the same coupons… bottles of VitaminWater are .88 each. Use the $1-off-2 Vitaminwater coupons from the Jewel Pharmacy tearpads, pay .76 for two, or .38 each.
(Incidentally, if you do go to the doctor for any reason, keep your eyes open for these tearpads, typically seen on displays in waiting rooms. They have a lot of other great coupons on them, including $25 off groceries at Jewel with a new or transferred prescription.)
“No Coupon Needed” deals…
32oz. bags of Jewel frozen potatoes (fries, tots) are $2 each — that’s $1 per pound, a great price for these.
Gallon jugs of Shoppers’ Value milk are $1.99, limit 2.
15ct. gallon freezer bags or 50ct. Shoppers Value recloseable sandwich bags are .99.
(Yes, many of us do not like the Shoppers Value foods, but how does one mess up a jug of milk or plastic bags?! The prices are fair.)
AND NOW… ConAgra. Get ready to camp out in the check-out…
ConAgra, Georgia/Pacific, Dr. Pepper and Smuckers “Spend $25, get $10” Catalina sale Buying $25 or more worth of included ConAgra, Georgia/Pacific, Dr. Pepper and Smuckers will generate a $10 Catalina! If you have the most recent ConAgra $25 coupon book (from previous All You magazine mail-in offer — it’s “Tomorrow Starts Today” with 10/17 expiration dates) use those coupons here too.
Buying $25 worth of any of these items, pre-coupon, will generate a $10 Catalina.
AND… if you do this deal once it starts, SAVE your receipts. With $10 worth of ConAgra receipts, you can send in for another FREE “Back to School” $25 ConAgra coupon book. They typically do these coupon book deals quarterly, and the coupons inside typically line up to future sales very nicely. The form’s also in the August issue of All You magazine.
If you are a “Black Belt” coupon shopper, you may like these Black Belt Scenarios for the ConAgra$25/$10. This is such a crazy sale that even new couponers will be tempted to jump in and try playing the price spread in the “Black Belt” way to take home much for little. (It IS hard to resist so many FREE groceries!) if you choose to, PLEASE, please read and abide by all of the warnings I’ve posted. These sales are crazy enough for the store associates without people becoming demanding in the lane when things don’t quite go your way. If you are willing to assume ALL risks, head on over…
Jewel-Osco has launched a Facebook page. If you have questions directly for corporate, you can ask them there (and they answer promptly!) They’ve also got the free cookware promo under way, so save your stickers from qualifying receipts to earn free pots and pans.
LESS THAN TWO WEEKS REMAINING ON FREE 8-PIECE COOKWARE SET CONTEST! Jewel is running a contest in which you can win one of five complete sets of the new cookware… free! It ends on October 20th, so enter soon if you’d like a chance at winning!
Are you on the Jewel-Osco email list yet? Jewel has been making coupons available for many different products over the past few months, and they’re usually store coupons that you can stack manufacturer coupons with too. I’d recommend getting on their list if you shop there.

Note that this is a listing of what you MAY find. Coupon books tend to move very quickly once they become available! Look on displays throughout the store to find them.
Secrets of our Flavor – $7 worth of Coca-Cola, Nabisco and Kraft coupons – here’s what’s inside
Jewel meat deals:
- 16oz. packages of Perdue ground chicken or turkey burgers are $2.50. Use the .75 coupon from 8/29 RP and pay $1.75!
- Jewel is running their “Fav 4” meat deal again — any four packages of meats, mix or match, will cost $19.99. As with anything, watch your per-pound prices here. Anything under $2 a pound or so will be where you find your best buys — for instance, 4lb. packages of chicken drumsticks or thighs are $5, which works out to about $1.66/lb., a pretty good price.
- 10oz. packages of On-Cor breaded chicken nuggets or patties are $1.25 – that’s $2/lb.
Jewel produce deals:
- 10lb. bags of Value Wise potatoes are $3.99 – that’s about .40/lb!
- Chiquita bananas are .49/lb.
- Hard shell squash are .79/lb.
- California red seedless grapes are .99/lb.
- Zucchini or yellow squash are $1.49/lb.
- Gala, McIntosh or Jonagold apples are $1.49/lb.
- Bartlett or red pears are $1.50/lb.
- Sweetie and Honeycrisp apples are $1.99/lb.
- Organic Gala apples are $1.99/lb.
- 3lb. bags of apples are $2.99, with $2 in instant-savings with the caramel deal posted above for this week’s Jewel deals too.
- 1lb. packages of Wild Harvest organic baby carrots are $2
(Anytime meat is under $1.99 a pound (no matter what it is — beef, pork, poultry) it’s a buy in my book, because $1.99 is a cycle low and a good benchmark for meat prices — ditto for most produce. Seafood, by its nature, is more expensive per pound, but a good “buy” benchmark is $4 per pound or less for fish or shrimp.)
Note to my Safeway shoppers reading from outside Chicagoland: In Chicago, Dominick’s currently accepts expired coupons up to one year past the expiration date, so my coupon matchups for Dominick’s deals will include expired coupons. If an expired coupon matchup is provided, it will be noted with (exp) after the date. Also, in Chicago, Dominick’s does not double coupons (as other Safeway stores do) – if your store doubles, you’ll do even better with many of these deals.
Dominick’s is running a special on Barilla and Classico pasta sauces. They’re on sale for $2 a jar. When you buy two Barilla or Classico sauces, you’ll get two boxes of Barilla pasta FREE! Use coupons to make this better…

Reader Knafsr notes there’s also a $1.25 off 2 jars of Barilla in the SS 8/29 if you want to stock up. AND, if you go with the Barilla, check out this Catalina deal reader Mluks put together – “Purchase 1 Barilla Pasta and 1 Barilla Sauce, Receive $1 – 10/4 – 10/31/10” — you’ll get a $1 Catalina on top of it all! Sweet!
Mott’s Apple Juice is $1.99 a bottle. If you have any of the Dominick’s “Make a Muscle” coupon books from earlier this summer, there’s a $2-off-2 inside — use it for .99 Mott’s apple juice! The Jewel “Fall Into Savings” coupon book has a $1.50-off-2 for $1.24 juice — also cheap!
7-Up 2-liters are .88 each. If you still have any “Score More Savings” coupon books from Jewel earlier this summer, there’s a $1-off-3 (exp) coupon for the 7-Up 2-liters inside. Use it and pay $1.64 for three, or .55 each.

What does “minimum $10 (or $20) purchase required” mean? To use store coupons that include a minimum purchase requirement, you must spend a minimum dollar amount on that shopping trip. You will reach the minimum purchase amount based upon total purchases after your Club Card discount is applied. For example, the regular retail price of a box of Cheerios (after Club Card discounts) will count toward the minimum purchase required in order to use the Cheerios coupon.
Heading over to Meijer, here are your best deals for Meijer stores in in Algonquin, Aurora, Bloomingdale, Bolingbrook, Elgin, McHenry, Oswego, Plainfield, Rolling Meadows, St. Charles, and the Indianapolis area:
It’s really kind of a quiet week at Meijer, especially compared to what’s going on around town! Here’s the best of what I see for this week…
Reader MomOf4 spotted a deal if you have multiple $1 Gain dish detergent coupons from this past weekend’s P&G inserts.
UPDATE: We are not sure if this is for this CURRENT week at Meijer or starting Thursday (Meijer runs two different cycles nationally, and Michigan’s current sales are the sales we get starting Thursday.) At any rate, this is the deal, which MAY be running now, or MAY be starting Thursday (so, buyer beware :) …
When you purchase 3 Gain products, you’ll receive a $3 Catalina. The BIG 26-30oz. Gain dish detergent bottles are currently on sale for $2 each. If you have three coupons, buy 3, pay $3, and get a $3 Cat back… making ALL 3 bottles free!

Note that Meijers in other states are on different schedules. The Illinois Meijers are about a week behind on the sales vs. Indiana/Michigan. If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store… Confusing? Yes.
AND, if you shop at the Illinois NILES or ORLAND Meijer locations, they haven’t been following the same sale flyer as the other Illinois Meijers, under the convoluted reasoning that because the stores are newer, people will shop there -without- as many products being on sale. O-kay.
For my Rockford-area shoppers (and Kroger shoppers too!) here are your Hilander sales for the current week…

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)
And, also, as always, a huge thanks to the many readers who posted and emailed deals that made it into today’s Deals of the Week! We’re all in this together, and I sincerely appreciate everyone who spots and passes along good deals that we can all enjoy :) Thank you… to YOU!
* (All You magazine is not a requirement for using the site, but if you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s a cheap ($2.49 an issue) magazine that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically $50-$100 worth per issue! You can subscribe to All You online and save about $10/year off the cover price. And depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

The Idahoan Potato catalina deal you blogged about in the Dom’s section is also running at Jewel. I think the “Loaded Baked Potato” flavor is actually pretty good as a filler for those last-minute dinners…..

At Jewel Tylenol Liquid Cold meds is on sale for $4.99 with $2 on your next order. use the $3/2 from 10/03 RP, spend $7 with $4 back…not bad! The tag said it expires on Oct. 14
HeatherPate says
I believe that coupon expired. If it’s the same coupon I looked at useing last week at Target, it expired on the 30th of Sept. Unless I am missing or using the wrong coupon booklet from Jewel.

Jill, have you used the 3/7 S (exp.) or 8/29 S $1 off two pastas to use towards the two “free” pasta for buying two Classico sauces? Did note the Piccolini cut is part of the deal. Wasn’t sure if Dominick’s would let you use the coupon on the free items.

scanning my card at CVS yesterday got me a $5/$15, $1/1 Colgate total (already free after ECB, so I paid $0.99 for my toothpaste and got back $2.99) and a $0.99/ candy corn which is on sale for $0.99 =)

Is anyone able to find and print the Crisco coupons past 7am this morn? I think they reached their print limit. Please advise if their are any others out there. Thanks!

Not sure if mentioned yet but, at Wags yesterday I noticed that they have the Colgate 2pk Wisps for $.99 and I beleive there is a $1/1 in the more recent inserts, but it escapes me at the moment so that would be free and Jill I know you love Carmex… They had it for $1.59 or $1.69 B1G1 so if you have that rare Carmes Q and while not free it’s be pretty cheap for 2!

Hi Jill! You probably won’t have time today b/c you’ll be at Jewel :) But could you possibly post some ConAgra deal examples? I think it can get started with two Angel Soft and two Sparkles, w/two Swiss Miss (b4 q’s = $25.96)
But, I’d like to know if I’m doing this the best way.
Does anyone else have any suggestions on how best to capitalize on the ConAgra deal?
Thanks SO MUCH for your help :)

There are come Conagra Q’s in either the August/Sept ALL U mag for $1/2 Hunt’s Ketchups and $1/6 Chef Boyardee’s. Target.com also had a MFG Q for the chef Boyardee $.50/3

My Jewel and Dominick’s never have tearpads or coupon books; could some of you posters give an idea of what stores you find these at?
Thank you!

In several people’s ConAgra scenarios on other sites, I have seen people menion a coupon for the popcorn. Does anyone know where to find one?

At Meijer this week, if you buy 2 Stouffer’s family or party size entrees, you get a $5 catalina. There is a $1/1 coupon in 9/26 RP and a $2/2 coupon in MeijerMealbox, for a total of $8 off two, or $9 off two if you get 2 papers.

I hadn’t even been aware of this one Saturday morning when I was shopping:) I needed cinnamon and pepper. Noticed a select number of spices were BOGO free, so I picked up 2 cinnamon & 1 pepper, and got a $3 cat, so it was a nice little surprise to me. I didn’t see any tearpads in Shorewood

Jill,
So I just came home from Walgreens and I got (6) Total 5 Right Guard Deodorants for .89 cents each!! These little babies normally go for $4.79 at Walgreens. This week they are a BOGO FREE so then I used my $3.00 off the purchase of 2 coupon that I printed from coupons.com a few weeks back and got them for .89 cents each!!!! I’m so excited my DH goes through deodorant like CRAZY. He showers at work and needs tolietries in his locker so I’m stocking up with this deal.
Walgreens also has Old Spice body wash 3/$10.00 and then you get $3.00 back in register rewards so it’s like 3/$7.00 BUT I used my BOGO FREE coupons from last months PG Saver and brought home (4) Old Spice body washes for about .83 cents each!! (after you figure in the $3.00 rewards on next trip)
Also, Walgreens has Energizer batteries for 2/$6.00 and I used my coupons.com coupons for $1.00 off each and picked these babys up for $2.00 a pack..GREAT DEAL since Christmas is coming up and I need these for my toddlers toys!!!!
LOVE YOUR SITE!!!!! HUGE FAN!!!!!!! This has changed my household shopping and budget FOREVER!!!!!
Thank You,
Crissy

Went to Jewel today, did the Boxed Pampers deal Value pack $29.99. Used the $5 store q and $3 man q and it worked great, got the $5 CAT. Tried the Huggies Box deal, got the Big Pack (60-92) ($19.99) b/c there were $5.00 man q on the boxes, but no Cat??? Just wondering where this Box Huggies/Pampers Store CAT is being promoted b/c I am missing a CAT if in fact the deal includes the $19.99 boxes….hmmm wondering if anyone else has done this deal.

Was trying to do some Conagra deals and of course many of the usual items are out of stock but was trying to be creative so I was going to incorporate some peanut butter. I was wondering though, Jif is the peanut butter noted in the deal but the Conagra booklets always have Peter Pan as one of the coupons?

I and some of my friends have visited at least 4-5 jewels nearby in the Des Plains/Arlington Hts/Niles area and don’t find this soup at all…we went to the store right on Friday (the next day when this went on Sale) and there were none. We were told that the stock will arrive on Tuesday and even today, there is none available..Can we do something about it? they don’t seem to keep the stuff enough in stock if they go on sale..anyone else facing same issue?

Sara Lee white or wheat bread is on sale this week at Jewel for $1.49. There were tearpads last week in my store for $1 off milk WYB Sara Lee bread.
If you buy the Shoppers Value milk that means:
Sara Lee bread $1.49
Milk $1.99
minus $1 coupon = $2.48 for both, which is cheaper than the usual Shoppers Value price of milk alone ($2.66)
Good deal!

So, went to Jewel this morning. Bought 7 HC soups and 1 Wesson Oil. Thought it was a good “black belt” scenario, since I really don’t use oil that much and didn’t want to purchase 5 of them. Well, I must have goofed…just wondering if anyone out there might know why. When I looked at the shelf prices of both (Wesson $5.49, and HC $2.89, should have added up to over $25) Well, when the Wesson rang up on the receipt it rang up as 2/$10 or $5 each, with the preferred price of $2.50. Is this why I didn’t receive my $10 Cat? I thought I looked at the shelf prices correctly, etc. Any ideas? Or was this just my luck. I sucked it up and didn’t say anything to the people at the store…but it would have been GREAT to rec. another cat!
dschiff says
I was wondering if you are supposed to use your jewel preferred card for the black belt deals?

Hey Jill! I was at the Couponing class at the church in Elgin this past weekend, and boy was I inspired. I cant wait to figure this whole thing out so I can get started. I got the paper this past Sunday and found a lot of great coupons. But my question is how do you end up getting multiple manufacture coupons for the same product? And do you know what store to go you, is that done by following the adds for the store that week?
Crissyv21 says
Can someone give me an all Healthy Choice sceneario with the ConAgra deal at Jewel. I’m try to figure out how you get them for free like Jill posted. She has they are .88 cents but my Jewel has them for $2.89.
I did get 2 HC last night for .19 cents each. I used my $1.00 off coupons from coupons.com and this particular brand was on clearance for 1.19! Good deal.
Any help would be appreciated!
:)

I was wondering whether you had to buy only $25 worth to get your Cat, or whether you can do multiple sets within the same transaction? For instance (sorry my brain is still fuzzy), if I bought $50 worth of ConAgra in one transaction would I get 2 $10 Cats? Running out this afternoon, and just needed to know.
Also, some people mentioned the Preferred card “resetting”? Can you not do back to back transactions? Buy, pay, ring up another set?
Thanks everyone!

Went to Jewel at lunch and was rushing to get back to the office. Purchased 7 popcorns and did receive my cat, but forgot to scan my preferred card…paid way tooo much :( and was in such a hurry didn’t realize it until I left as I had a few other items that were not on sale. Can I take the receipt back to Jewel with my Prefered Card and get a credit or is it only at time of purchase?
tjkinnear says
What a fun day of shopping! I did 5 separate transactions between 2 stores and never even came close to clearing a shelf of anything. Plenty of soup, oil, spaghetti sauce, popcorn for me and many others. Kudos to the Shorewood and Plainfield (Caton Farm & Rt. 59) Jewel stores for keeping their shelves stocked!!!
Thank you, Jill for your awesome scenarios!!!

Ok so im new at this couponing thing…quick question. In order to get the $10 Catalina do you have to spend $25 of the Sale price or is the $25 from the original price?

does anyone know how to best do this deal: If Fuze is BOGO at Jewel and I have a few Fuze coupons that are BUY 2 get 1 free how do I do that to get the best deal? buy 4, then 3 end up being free? I am drawing a blank. Or buy 6?
greep says
Didn’t get a chance to shop til today and the shelves at my jewel where empty. No healthy choice soup in site. Talked to the clerk she said they may get another shipment tonight.

OK, so I see General Mills is running the same buy $25, get a $10 cat. So, if the scanned prices of the items listed there add up to $25.00, I will get the cat, right?

I was kinda hesitant to shop at Jewel today, becuase of all of the people last night saying that most of the stores were out of everything ConAgra. People were posting that Woodstock was clear out of HC soup and the warehouse had none to send them. I headed out to Jewel at 7am like every wednesday and was presently surprised! I was lucky because my cart was already full around 8 am when the store started to get busy, and i spotted a few “jill cataldo” followers (yes…you caught me, i was peeking into other peoples carts). At 7 am I headed to the ConAgra deals right away and was able to find nine soups that we love, all of the HC frozen meals i was planning on buying, hunts spaghetti sauce, hungry jack pancake mix, etc… The only thing is was bummed about…no toilet paper and that’s the thing we needed the most! So Jewel went very well and I had fun putting the deals together to recieve my $10 catalina.
Just got home from my local Dominick’s and I am very pleased. Went for a few things that i found myself with great coupon matchups (gotta love those super coupons)! Was able to pick up some toilet paper for the same price as i would have if Jewel was not out of stock. This is the third time i have shopped at Dominicks in the past two months, and i have to say i am starting to love this store. The coupons match up with deals very well, cashiers are actually friendly, now only if i can get in and out of the store faster. I guess i need to study the layout of the store a little better! : )
Sorry that was a little long…can you tell i had an exciting “couponing” day! Hope you all can say the same! : )

I sent in my receipts a couple weeks ago, still no record on their website of having received it (you can track whether they have received you entry). Weird thing is, I received the P&G grill I sent in for the following week. It showed up in the mail today.
Anyone else having trouble getting the $110 book? Anyone receive theirs?

Does it matter if my Jewel card is scanned before my items are rung up or should i wait to give it to the cashier after wards- does it make a difference for the $25/$10 deals?
