(Anytime meat is under $2 a pound (no matter what it is — beef, pork, poultry) it’s a buy in my book, because $2 per pound is a cycle low and a good benchmark for meat prices. This is also true for most produce. Seafood, by its nature, is more expensive per pound, but a good “buy” benchmark is $4 per pound or less.)

Are you a Meijer Mperks member? Mperks is a different set of electronic Meijer coupons. They’re attached to your cellphone number, but aside from one text message to activate your account, you do not need to use text messaging to continually use them. Once you register with Meijer Mperks, you log into the Mperks website and click the electronic coupons you’d like to load to your account. Then, when you’re at the checkout, type your cellphone number into the keypad at the register, and your coupons come off automatically.

• Fresh Grade A boneless skinless chicken breasts are $1.99/lb.
• Center cut bone-in pork chops are $2.49/lb.

Meijer seafood deals:

Here are your Hilander deals… View weekly ad

The Rockford-area Logli stores share the same ad as Hilander (Schnucks) now, so these deals apply at the four Rockford-area Logli stores as well. I have had some readers from DeKalb write and ask if these deals will also apply to their store. In looking at both ads, SOME of the deals are the same, but Rockford has been having a Hilander-specific wraparound that isn’t a part of the DeKalb Schnucks ad. Remember too that the DeKalb store does not double coupons.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: The Scnhucks ad cycle is a WEDNESDAY to TUESDAY ad, which means these deals will now end on Tuesdays of the current week. These deals end TUESDAY, OCTOBER 25th.

Wolf Chili (15oz.) is on sale for $1. Use the .40 coupon from 10/2 SS, which doubles to .80, and pay .20!

Betty Crocker Boxed Potatoes (4.5-6.6oz.) are on sale for $1. Buy two and use the .50-off-2 coupon from 10/2 GM, 9/11 GM, or a printable. The coupon will double to $1, so you’ll pay $1 for two, or .50 each!

Tai Pei Frozen Entrees (12-14oz.) are on sale for $2 each. Use the $1 coupon from 10/2 SS and pay $1!

Selected Kellogg’s cereals (8.7-14oz.) are on sale for $1.77 per box, including Rice and Cocoa Krispies. Buy three and use the $1-off-3 coupon from 10/16 RP. You’ll pay $4.31 for three, or about $1.44 each.

Coupon books to look for at Walgreens: Walgreens Infant Care (has a $2 coupon inside for Walgreens brand diapers, which often go on sale. All expire 12/2011.)

TheraMax Cold and Fuel Relief Nasal Spray (.5oz.) is on sale for $7.99. Buy it and get $7.99 back in Register Rewards, making it FREE!

Scott Naturals Paper Towels (6ct.) are on sale for $5. Use the $1 coupon from the November Walgreens IVC book and stack it with the $1 manufacturer coupon from 10/23 SS. You’ll pay $3, which works out to .50 per roll!

Dentek Dental Floss Picks (75-90ct.) are on sale 2-for-$4. Buy two and get $2 back in Register Rewards! There’s a .75 coupon in the 10/23 SS.

With one coupon, pay $3.25 and get $2 back in RRs. With two coupons, pay $2.50 and get $2 back in RRs. .50 for two is .25 each!

Popcorn Indiana Kettle Corn (6-10.5oz) is on sale for $1.99 a bag. Use the $1 coupon from 9/25 SS and pay .99!

DEAL IDEAS: All of these will require multiples of the same coupon to pull off, but they’re decent deals.

An all-Kleenex deal: Buy 30 boxes ($30.)
Use ten .50-off-3 coupons.
Pay $25 and get $10 back. $15 for 30 boxes is .50 each.

An all-Scott deal:
Buy five 6ct. Scott ($30.)
Use five $1 coupons.
Pay $25 and get $10 back. $15 for 5 is $3 each.

Remember that these deals run all week, and you don’t have to buy all of the items in the same shopping trip. Your CVS card will keep track for you and print the $10 gift card voucher when you hit $30.

Deals continuing from previous weeks

Did you see the nice $8-off-2 Cover Girl coupon in the 10/2 PG? You can score some free makeup at Walmart this week with it! Single-color Cover Girl Cheekers blushes and Enhancers eye shadows are $3.99 at most stores. Buy two… and with your coupon, pay NOTHING. They’re FREE!

Policies to know:

• Walmart will price match any competitor’s advertised price. Bring the other store’s flyers with you to the store.
   
• With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept other store’s STORE coupons with an actual price listed on them. For example, a Dominick’s store coupon advertising “.99 Ragu Pasta Sauce” would be accepted. A Walgreens store coupon advertising “2/$1 Morton’s Salt” would be accepted. (A Target store coupon for “$2.50 off Huggies” would not, because it does not show the actual selling price of the item.)
   
• With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept competitor’s Catalina manufacturer coupons. You can get a Catalina for $1 off Snuggle and use it at Walmart.
   
• Walmart’s new coupon policy specifically addresses coupon overage. It says “Coupons may exceed the price of the item. Change may be given or applied toward the cost of the basket purchase.”
   

I would print a copy and carry a copy of the coupon policy with you if you anticipate any issues.

I do not blog Walmart deals each week unless there is a weekly ad with noteworthy deals. Every store location’s regular prices are different, and Walmart does not issue a weekly ad every week. I’ve listed Walmart at the end of each week’s Deals writeup, because if you see any deals above that you want, you’ll likely also be able to do them at Walmart.
