Hello, Super-Couponers! Ready to shop & save big?
Before we even get started, I have two high-value coupon alerts for you. If you’ve got a little one in diapers, you’ll definitely want to head over to Luvs’ website and register to receive a $5 diaper coupon! They’ve done this promotion in the past and these go fast… so get yours while you can! The last time these were out, Target had a nice Luvs coupon to stack with this, bringing the diapers down to .49 a pack…
AND… did you see that this past weekend’s SmartSource (9/13) had a coupon for $1 off ANY purchase at a store that takes coupons when you use your Discover card? Clip that and use it on anything… anywhere!
If you’re new to the site, take a quick minute to read Using this site and bring yourself up to speed on all the coupon lingo and abbreviations. It’s a good idea to save the grocery and drugstore flyers from both Wednesday and Sunday each week to have on hand & refer to too as you go through the deals! And, if you’re new to couponing in general, check out my Super-Couponing website for a list of FREE coupon classes and instructions on how to start using coupons effectively!
AND… my Super-Couponing class is now available on DVD! Own the 72-minute class and watch it whenever you like! Click for a video preview & learn how to order!

Grocery Deals
Starting at Jewel, Fruit 2.0 water is $1 a bottle… and there are $1 coupons in the 8/23 SS insert. Pick these up for FREE… and why not print another coupon for more free Fruit 2.0?
Wacky Mac pasta is on sale for $1 again too, and if you didn’t use your .75 coupons from 5/10 SS before, you can use them again here to get this pasta for just .25 a bag! And/or, print two more .25 coupons for more cheap pasta…
Did you see the $1.88 Kellogg’s Apple Jacks and Froot Loops cereal this week? Grab the $2-off-2 coupon from 8/30 RP, and you’ll take home two boxes of your choice for just .88 each…
Green seedless grapes are just .78/lb! That’s a steal, even without a coupon!
Like tacos? Lawry’s taco seasoning packets are .50 each. Use the .50-off-2 coupon from 8/30 RP and take two home for .25 each!
Coppertone Nutrashield sunscreen continues to be FREE! Jewel has marked this sunscreen down to $4.99 a bottle at many stores, and with the $5 printable coupon from Coppertone.com, it will be free. Watch your dates and find ones that expire next year, and you’ll be all set for next Spring and Summer!
Did you hear about the new Catalina deal running at Jewel on Campbell’s soups and other products? Buy $15 or more of participating Campbell’s products and get a coupon for $5 off your next shopping order.
Here are your matchups…
Campbell’s Condensed Soups – .40 off 2 – 9/13 SS, $1 off 2
Campbell’s Condensed Chicken Noodle or Tomato – .40 off 4 – 9/13 SS
Campbell’s Select Harvest Soups – .50 off 2 – 8/16 SS, 9/13 SS
Pepperidge Farm Bread – $1 off when you buy 3 cans Campbell’s Soup – Jewel Preferred Card Update coupon book
Swanson Chunk canned chicken – $0.60 off 2 – 9/13 SS
V8 Splash or Smoothies – $1.00 off 2 – 9/13 SS
With the deals above, buying the total dollar amount required (NOT including tax! Make sure you are over, pre-tax) will generate your Catalinas. However, you can potentially save even more money on these already great deals.
If you are VERY NEW at couponing and not comfortable doing a high-level Catalina deal differently than what the ad specifies, skip this and move on to the Dominick’s deals for this week. But if you are comfortable with a higher-level deal…
My black belt couponers know that these deals typically work differently at Jewel than at any other store.
VERY IMPORTANT: If you have never done a high-level Catalina deal at Jewel before, please read this short overview of the way the price structure works. In a nutshell, if you base your dollar-spent mark on the non-Preferred prices, you can save even more money and spend less out of pocket.
It is entirely up to you if you would like to work the deal in this way, but understand that IF you do, and the Catalina does not print, you can NOT go to the service counter and ask/demand that they reimburse you. You are working this sale in a different way than the ad specifies, and you’re on your own if you choose to do this. Know that you are accepting ANY outcome, including getting NO Catalinas.
You can mix and match any items in the list to get to that price mark. It’s important to remember that the non-preferred prices vary at EVERY store, and in some cases there are three prices (shelf, sale, and Preferred) on each item. If there is a fourth price (“Big Relief,” this is the price you use.)
If this makes no sense or is the least bit confusing to you… do NOT do the deal in this way. These high-level Catalina deals can be very confusing, especially when you’re new at this. If you are new, use the PREFERRED price only, and you’ll get the Catalina every time.
But if you’re a “black belt” couponer and want to maximize your savings… here are some of the best deals. You will also note that there are many items in the deal that are not advertised – thanks to Tracey for the spreadsheet. Again, if you use these scenarios and do not get your Catalina, do NOT go to Customer Service and ask them to make it right for you. You WILL NOT have purchased what the ad states that you must. Again, YOU are taking the risk on these deals. You must be willing to accept ANY outcome without complaining, even if it means not getting any Catalinas at all.
Campbells Tomato or Chicken Noodle deal
Buy 20 cans of the above soups. Pay $10 and get $5! Cheap soup at .25 a can! With coupons, it’s even better… use as many .40 off 4 coupons as you have. If you’re a multiple-insert person, four .40 coupons would have you paying $8.40 and getting $5 back… 20 cans of soup for $3.40… that’s .17 each!
Campbells Select Harvest deal
Buy eight cans Select Harvest. Use two .50 off 2 coupons. With two coupons, pay $9 and get $5 back. Cheap GOOD soup!
Campbells and Pepperidge Farm bread deal
2 loaves Pepperidge Farm $2.99 cinnamon swirl bread
9 cans of Campbells tomato or chicken noodle soup
Use $1 Pepperidge Farm coupon from Jewel and any Campbell’s coupons you have. With just the Preferred coupon, pay $9.48 and get $5 back! Use as many Campbells soup coupons as you have here too.
Pepperidge Farm cookie deal
Buy 5 bags of cookies ($2 each.) Pay $10 and get $5. Cheap cookies!
Pepperidge Farm Goldfish deal
Buy 8 bags of Goldfish ($1.25 each.) Pay $10 and get $5. Cheap goldfish!
V8 juices deal
Buy four V8 Splashes. Pay $10 and get $5! That’s $1.25 each, with no coupons…
(Remember to ALWAYS, ALWAYS verify regular/sale/big relief/preferred prices at the PRICE SCANNER for YOUR store before relying on these quantity breakdowns. This cannot be stressed enough. It is never fun to be pennies off from a deal because your store has an item priced a little lower than others.)
And, remember to roll your Cats! Take the Catalina you get and go right back and use it to bring your out-of-pocket down on your next round of items.
Heading to Dominick’s, there are again some Dominick’s Super Coupons in their Wednesday ads. You can stack manufacturer coupons with all of these (use www.coupontom.com or www.hotcouponworld.com [expired database]) for matchups.
Best SUPER COUPONS this week?
$2 off Kleenex. They’re only $1.99! They’ll be free with this coupon…
.99 18-ct. Lucerne eggs
$1.49 5-lb. Idaho Russet potatoes
.99 Grape Tomatoes
A note on Dominick’s Super Coupons: All of the Super Coupons require a total purchase of $20 or more to use. But, the “Minimum $20 purchase” applies to the REGULAR, non-sale price of those items. Really! It’s even spelled out very well on Safeway’s corporate site:
What does “minimum $10 (or $20) purchase required” mean? To use store coupons that include a minimum purchase requirement, you must spend a minimum dollar amount on that shopping trip. You will reach the minimum purchase amount based upon total purchases before your Club Card discount is applied. This total will include the coupon item’s regular price, not the discounted price. For example, the regular retail price of a box of Cheerios (before coupon and before Club Card discounts) will count toward the minimum purchase required in order to use the Cheerios coupon.
So, knowing this, getting over that $20 mark isn’t as hard as it seems. Mix and match what you like, and remember too that if you work any other items into your trip from this week’s deals, they too will count toward your $20.
There are LOTS of meats cheap at Doms this week! Check out…
Pork Shoulder Country Style Ribs – .99/lb
Perdue Roasting Chicken – .99/lb
Safeway Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts – $1.69/lb with Super Coupon on front page of flyer
Rancher’s Reserve Boneless Beef Chuck Pot Roast – $1.99/lb
ANYTIME meats, no matter what they are, are on sale for $1.99/lb or less, they’re a BUY! Get that freezer ready..!
Lastly for Doms… if you have the 2009 Entertainment Book, remember that there’s a $5 off $50 coupon in there too that you can work into one of your Dominick’s trips before the book expires at the end of this year. If you use this, always give the cashier that coupon FIRST, before the rest of your coupons, as your total will probably (hopefully!) dip under $50 after the rest of your coupons. And, if you’re interested in the 2010 Entertainment Book, it’s got FOUR $5-off-$50 coupons for Dominick’s in it, valid this fall and throughout the next year. Nice!
At Meijer, Oscar Mayer Lunchables paired with the $1 Lunchables coupon from 8/23 SS equals FREE Lunchables…! Thanks to blog reader Dealgrab for the heads-up!
Still at Meijer, if you missed the GREAT deal on frozen vegetables last week at Jewel, this is a not-so-bad deal on the same… Green Giant Steamers are $1 a bag. Use these .50 coupons and take them home for .50 each…
Note that Meijers in other states are on different schedules. The Illinois Meijers are about a week behind on the sales vs. Indiana/Michigan. If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store… Confusing? Yes. This is why I don’t blog too many Meijer deals…
Here’s a super stacking Target deal on Softsoap Ensembles pumps! Buy:
1 Softsoap Ensembles Pump at $4.99
1 Softsoap Ensembles Refill at $2.89
So far, not a deal, at $7.88. But now…
Use this $2 coupon for the pump, and use the “$3 off refill when you buy a pump” coupon from 8/30 SS. Now, you’re at $2.88 for both.
And the LAST coupon you want to hand the cashier? The Target 9/13 SS STORE coupon for $3.50 off BOTH a Softsoap Ensembles pump and refill! If you give the store coupon last, you’ll not only get both free but receive overage too! Who doesn’t love that?
Target’s got another GREAT deal on Kashi! Kashi products are currently $2.88 each (see this week’s ad.) When you buy 5 selected products, you’ll get a $5 Target gift card.
So, pre-coupon, you’re at $14.40. But we’ll knock that WAY down with coupons…
Use ANY of these coupons to make this deal extra sweet:
$1.50 off 1 Kashi Honey Sunshine
$1 off Kashi GoLean Crunch cereal
$1.50 off Kashi crackers or bars when you buy GoLean Crunch
The new Mambo Sprouts organic coupon home mailer has Kashi coupons too!
Ready for a Kashi scenario?
Buy 5 boxes of Kashi. Use 5 $1.50 coupons from above. Pay $6.90
Pay $6.90 and get a $5 Target card. This works out to .38 each!
Those of you that got the Kashi Honey Sunshine $1.50 and FREE box coupons from Vocalpoint a couple weeks ago will definitely want to use them here – 5 boxes of Honey Sunshine cereal will run you $5.52 after coupons… and you’ll get a $5 gift card! LOVE that! That’s under .10 a box!
If you pay attention to Target’s printable store coupons each week, you know that while the coupons at Target.com change every Sunday, the coupons from past weeks are still unexpired and valid — they’re just not linked from Target’s site anymore. So how do we get our hands on those coupons?
With a Target Coupon Generator. Sites like this one link to those “hidden” coupons so we can continue to print and use them through their expiration dates, and then… we can enjoy continued savings!
And, if you have a dog (or just want to donate some free dog food!) you’ll want to check out this next Target deal for FREE dog food… go on the generator and print the coupon for $1.50 off 1 bag Chef Michaels dog food.
Now, grab your 8/23 RP insert from this past weekend, and cut your $3 off a bag of Chef Michaels coupon.
Bags of Chef Michael’s dog food are $4.49 at most Target stores. Stack that $1.50 store coupon with the $3 manufacturer coupon for $4.50 in coupon value… and you’re taking it home for FREE!
Deal Update: Chef Michael’s also has a $2.50 printable coupon which, stacked with your Target coupon, will make your next bags just .49… — AND, when I went out to do this deal, the dog food actually rang up at $4.26, even though the shelf said $4.49 (for those who want to know, this was at the Rt. 59 Target in Hoffman Estates.) SO… it was an even better deal!
For my Rockford-area readers, Hilander‘s got some good cheapies and freebies this week…
Bounty paper towels are $1 a roll. Use the .25 coupon from 8/30 PG (doubled to .50) and stack it with the .25 electronic PGEsaver.com coupon … and take this home for a quarter!
Sundown vitamin supplement varieties are again $3.79, Buy One Get One Free. Use the $5 off 2 coupon from 7/12 RP and get 2 for free… with possible overage!
Dial hand soap pumps are $1 each. With the .35 coupon from 8/16 SS doubled to .70, these are just .30 each…
Hefty One Zip bags are $1 each too. With the $1-off-2 coupon from 8/30 RP, pay just .50 each!
Have you seen the new electronic coupons for Hilander/Kroger stores? SoftCoin recently added support for Kroger stores (including Hilander) for their new electronic coupons for Unilever products! Click here to check them out… they load to your card the same way that Cellfire/PGE/ShortCuts do, meaning we now have FOUR sets of electronics we can stack with at Kroger stores. WOW!

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store.
* (All You magazine is not a requirement for using the site, but if you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s a cheap ($2.49 an issue) magazine that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically 20-30 of them. Many websites are now tracking the All You coupons and matching them to deals, just as they do with the newspaper coupon inserts. You can subscribe to All You online and save about $10/year off the cover price. And depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

Which size?I did not see this in the paper and was not sure if this was for the large or small.
mlb1062 says
Sorry, I’m confused…is the Campbell’s Catalina “spend $15, get $5”, or “spend $10, get $5”? The first set of deals are for spending $15; under “black belt” the deals are listed for spending $10. Thanks for clarifying! =)

the kleenex q didn’t work for me yesterday….it beeped and then she informed me it says “must buy 4″….i had read of others getting the free kleenex so i decided to try it too but since it beeped it didn’t work….i guess ymmv

The $3.50 Target coupon is in the 9/13 SS with the mouse on the cover.
shoptiludrop says
if you missed some of the other recent deals (like me)…
use the $1 off any Listerine, Reach floss or Toothbrush from 8/2 SS, pay $1.99, get $2 RR. This is a smaller bottle, just so you know. 250 ml size. Another poster mentioned the above q is good at Jewel this week for free floss since they’re $1 each.
maggie says
The softsoap coupon from the Softsoap website ($2 for the pump – link above) can not be opened. Does anyone else have this problem?
Lynn Simmons says
I signed up but never had a place to print Q. what am I doing wrong?
bearlady110 says
The coupon that I see in the 8-23 SS is for $1 off the new combo with water. I don’t think that one is on sale at Meijer. From the Meijer ad it looks like the plain lunchables are on sale for $1. Has anyone tried to use the coupon in the paper for the plain lunchables?
Momof3Js says
I tried to print from the link above for the H2O water but I get an error that there is an invalid or missing parameter. Anyone have a link that works?
Thanks!
countryjohnsons says
I cannot find the Wacky Mac Q in the link…is there another one?
Kathy D says
Does anyone know if this $10 coupon would be accepted at the Gurnee Mills store? The coupon states not valid at outlet stores.
casagrande says
Careful with the bread. I bought whole wheat cinnamon swirl and did not get the cat. Going from memory is dangerous at my age. Whole grain is the one on the UPC list.
illinigirl1974 says
Does anyone know if the condensed soups are part of this deal? There are not on the list that I saw but there are listed in the Jewel deals above.
doodlebug1970 says
Don’t forget about Target’s new price match policy. Bring your Walgreens ad with you and they will match the Kashi cereal to $2.50 a box!! :)
GMoney says
Bought 16 CNS and 4 Cream of Mushroom and did not get the cata lina…..? Not surer why but could have been b/c of the CoM? Any ideas why?
mhumphrey says
It seems the Kashi deal at Jewel is even better then the Target one…or am I missing something?
Buy 4 Kashi products & save $4 instantly. Cereals & bars are $2.75 – so 4 x $2.75 = $11 – 4 ($1.50Q) – $4 instantly = $1 OOP

I am very new at this(yesterday was my first day). I am a risk taker so I tried the black belt deals at Jewel. My first two went without a hitch(the C&N and Tom soups and the goldfish) I checked all the upcs for the Sel Har and it didn’t give me the cat. I knew going in I may not get it , but why didn’t I because I made sure that they were included in the link with the upcs. I also had a couple of other purchases that I made with that transaction is that why. It was a good learning experience though. Thanks for your answers ahead of time.
dmhuizinga says
I tried buying 5 packages (4 Milano and one other sale pkg) but didn’t get the Catalina. Is there a list with UPC codes? I’ve never had a problem like this at my local Jewel.
sruffolo says
I have had some good luck with most of the high level deals but I tell you every time I roll in a CAT from the previous purchase I do not get the next CAT that I shoud have coming to me. Can someone PLEASE tell me if I shoud be waiting and coming back to roll these into the next deal??? please……
For Example:
Today I did the 4 V8 Splash…..got the cat, did the Peppridge Farm bread with soup…..(I checked all UPC’s)…no CAT. Did the Gold Fish and I got my CAT.
Should I just chock this up to ya win some & ya lose some. I mean I still got good deals. I just want to know has this worked for other people?????

Check the prices on those Green Giant Steamers at Meijer! I just got home from the Algonquin store where the Vegetable Medley, no sauce, were ringing up at 48 cents! A great deal even if you don’t have the coupons!
dancingwolves says
Ensembles pumps and refills in stock….and I was surprised they don’t do rainchecks on price relief items though I don’t shop often at Target because of cleared shelf issues. It turns out it wouldn’t matter anyway because the 8/30 Q for buy any pump and get $3 off replacement base is expiring on the 19th…a really short date wouldn’t you say!
Does anyone have a scenario for doing this at Wags using their $2 off Q?
ereml27 says
I went to 2 Jewel’s and could not find the Apple Jack / Fruit Loops that were supposed to be $1.88. Was that last week’s sale? I do not see it on my Jewel flyer either.
Did anyone else have success?
