It’s Halloween party and Fall Fun Fair time again, and if you’re a parent, you just may find yourself in the same situation as we are:

Yes, that’s my son (the ninja!) showing off the new goldfish he won at his school’s fun fair. We were not planning to get another fish, but fortunately, thanks to a Meijer fish tank clearance last year, we were prepared for a new fish’s arrival.

If you suddenly find yourself in the same situation this season with a newly-acquired pet fish, you may want to check your local Meijer for another fish tank clearance. I just got back from the Algonquin Meijer, and the entire back wall of the pet section is filled with small and large fish bowls and tanks on clearance!

Betta bowls are $2.75 each, and large fish bowl/tanks are $3.75 each. I saw Dr. Seuss, Barbie, Hello Kitty and Avengers styles. The price sure is right if you need a home for a new fish.

  2. My daughter was so thrilled she won a fish at a fun fair, but two days later it died. Oh! the drama of so wanting a pet and then not having one. Went and bought another goldfish. Remember to ask around too. We had friends who had a small fish tank but no fish anymore.
