Just had to share this story with everyone… the kids and I made our weekly visit to our food pantry this morning (which is the Grafton Township Pantry, serving the Huntley area) to drop off some bags of food, and the pantry volunteers pointed out a very LARGE pile of Jewel bags on the floor — at least eight of them packed with food. They were smiling and said that someone had come in earlier and brought this food in, and that person proudly stated that all of the food in the bags cost them less than $5, because they’d bought it with the deals they found on my blog! What a great story! So to you, anonymous food donor, THANK YOU! :) I’m always happy to hear from people that are sharing some of their “food wealth” with those less fortunate, but I saw evidence of that firsthand right here where I live. Thanks :)

Yes, Jill, I’ve had the same experience! Kids & I dropped off bags early on Monday Grafton Town.(letting them know how I got it all thru you and yr classes). Only to find out they’d had other visitors from Jewel too. I noticed they were pretty backed up, so kids & I offered to come back and help them shelve everything before their clients came in at lpm. We had fun playing grocery store, checking expiration dates and shelving for them!

This is the great perks of super couponing.Being able to reach out to those in need but also not break the bank on your own family.We are having a food drive at our school.It feels so good to be able to donate so much.I am planning on doing more.Thank you again Jill.I have told several family and friends about you.Some are in very bad financial situations right now.I know this is going to help them so much.

Please keep our animal friends in mind also! i often see coupons for free pet food and pet treats-please use them even if you don’t have a pet! if your food pantry doesn’t accept pet products, your local animal shelter probably will! you may want to call or email ahead-some shelters are very specific about what they will or will not accept. you can also get great deals during kmart double coupon days! if you don’t have a shelter nearby, how about a neighbor? or family? or a friend?
