With many people’s health plans changing due to the rollout of the Affordable Care Act, you may be interested in getting free health insurance quotes from a variety of providers. eHealthInsurance provides free quotes online for individual, family, short-term and more.
As an aside, about five years ago I lost my employer-supplied insurance — right about the time I started doing what I’m doing now for a living! I wasn’t sure where to go to find a new plan, and my kids’ pediatrician told me to use eHealthInsurance. So I did, and the site presented me with a variety of options for me and the kids. I ultimate chose a great Blue Cross plan that I have to this day. I found the site to be extremely easy to use, especially to compare features and deductibles for different plans.

Hi- Two years ago when Blue Cross raised my rates for my PPO a ton I decided to look at other policies. Because I already had a policy with Blue Cross. they did not have to pay for preventive care, and if I switched to a different Blue Cross policy, I would have to go through underwriting again. I decided to look at other companies, and I made the mistake of signing up with einsurance.com, and I got tons of calls from different agents, including one agent in the Chicago area that was calling me up twice a day. He had me on automatic dial, and he finally left me a message asking me to get back to him, so he could get me off his system if I was not interested. I called him back, and he talked me into having him look into some policies for him, and I gave him my criteria, and he got back to me, and finally admitted that he had nothing for me, and that I should stick with Blue Cross.
I am glad you had luck with them, but I purposely gave them my cell phone number so I could screen out the calls, and I got calls from agents near and far for weeks. I love the agent that I am currently working with right now. He owns the Health Insurance Shoppe on Belmont in Chicago, and he only deals in health insurance, and he knows the field thoroughly. He was just on WGN noon news last week. When I told him about my bad experience a few years ago with einsurance.com, he just laughed.
I am going to try calling up Jordan tomorrow, because I am still having problems getting on the government website. When I try to log in, and hit enter, the screen goes blank. Supposedly they were supposed to be working out the kinks over the weekend, and it looks like they still have some work to do.
