My Yankee Candle clearance find at Meijer

I stopped into Meijer yesterday to pick up some of the sale items, and I browsed the clearance endcaps too. I spotted Yankee Candle 22-ounce dual-wick jars on clearance for $7! These normally sell for $29.99. I thought, “Wow, that’s super cheap for Yankee.”

Of course, they were all the same scent, so I’m just guessing that this scent wasn’t terribly popular…

“Tailgating.”

Tailgating? What does tailgating smell like?

Well, let me tell you. Tailgating apparently smells like grilled meats with a heavy touch of bacon. This candle cracked me up! I cannot imagine what occasion I might light this up for. However, I found the idea of having guests come over and smell the scent of grilled meats wafting through our house hilarious, and I bought it.

Also, I will tell you that having the lid off the jar is driving my dog crazy. He really, really wants to taste it.

I’m also wondering if I was lured to buy this meat candle simply because I know what Yankee Candles usually sell for. That’s one of the pitfalls of clearance shopping, right? Is it really a deal just because it’s cheap?

Judging from the reactions of my family members, this candle was absolutely worth getting. Everyone’s been laughing at it… except my teenager, who simply said “That’s awful.”
