We went to Meijer (Algonquin) tonight, and I spotted some fun clearance items worth sharing…
Thirty-One home parties popularized this style of utitity tote, but after my dismal experiences with two of their bags falling apart the first time I used them (and their subsequent refusal to replace said bags) I vowed that I wouldn’t buy any future bags from their company. Look what a tote like this usually sells for:
And then, another great deal to wrap up our night. We went to Meijer tonight to replace our boys’ pet fish, Jack, who sadly did not make it to his two-month anniversary of being won at Santa’s Village.
(I should note that Jack’s arrival came as a surprise too. I left all three kids near the park’s big slide while I went to use the drinking fountain. When I returned, all three kids were roaring with laughter, “surprise” in hand. In the minute I was away, my children had walked to the midway. The 17-year-old gave her brother a dollar so he could throw a ball and try to win a goldfish. Well, he succeeded!)
Jack’s passing brought great anguish upon our sons, particularly because I had not yet bought a bubbler for his bowl. After Jack’s funeral in the backyard last week, I promised that we’d buy a new fish to replace Jack and I would buy an air bubbler for Fish #2.
This time around, the boys decided they wanted a Molly, and so while they picked out the perfect fish, we also looked at bubblers. Bubblers were $12.99, not including an airstone, and then we saw this:
Happy Meijer deal hunting! (And now I’m really ready for our next day at the pool!)

Hey Jill you did really well with that utility tote. It is the only thing I have thought of getting from 31! Don’t like home parties but want that bag. Pictures don’t do it justice, it is a huge bag and great for everything summertime. I have seen people use them at Aldi too carrying groceries home in. You did great and I am hitting Meijer today =)

I was at Santa’s Village around the first week of June too with my kids. And although I’ve never met you in person, I’ve “met” you through your videos. While at Santa’s Village, there was a lady hanging out by that rocking pirate ship who I thought looked just like you. But I did not want to walk up to a random stranger and ask if their name was Jill. But I bet it was you, lol.

My son won a goldfish 3 years ago at a 4th of July Fair in Bartlett and its still alive and getting huge! :)
I also have a similar tank (without LED lights), that I bought at a garage sale a few years ago for 2-3 bucks. That’s a good item to look for at garage sales.
I like that bag too. I usually use reusable grocery bag for small things and my kids carry their own towels, but that is really nice.

Not a go in Bolingbrook (Weber and Boughton). I just came from Meijer and sadly, none of those nice sales are sales by us. The shirts are still at $12.00, the little aquarium is still at regular price… no tote (I walked the whole area, twice). :( But thanks for the review on them. I had been tempted to by the name brand (not to mention their name) and because of the expense, I had been passing them. Thanks for sharing the UPC code since I was on my way to ask for it, LOL.

You crack me up with the KISS merchandise! I LOVE it! How do your kids feel about using KISS beach towels?

I just got one of the tote bags at the Elgin store tonite. They had several more left, they are located by the storage container aisles on the endcaps at the back of the store.
