In addition to being a fun source for all things frugal, All You magazine has a fun new book out to celebrate Halloween! It’s called All You Awesomely Fun Halloween, and it’s available right now at Walmart and at online book retailers for $9.99.

All You sent me a copy to enjoy, and I think anyone who loves Halloween would really like this! The book is divided into six sections, each focusing on a different aspect of Halloween: pumpkin transformation, decorating your home, Halloween crafts, Halloween parties, Halloween “sweets & treats” and lastly, easy Halloween costumes. There are so many fun and easy ideas here for the holiday. A few I thought were creative:

  • Use black pillowcases over chair backs to “drape” the chairs for a vampire-themed party
  • Fill a clean plastic glove with water and freeze it – then remove the glove. You’re left with a “hand” of ice. Put it in a red punch bowl and it looks like a dead hand floating in there!
  • A graveyard cake that uses Pepperidge Farm Chessmen cookies as gothic-looking tombstones sticking up vertically in a “cemetery”
  • A kids’ bat costume that uses an old black umbrella as wings – great way to repurpose a broken umbrella! Pull the fabric off the umbrella frame and cut the umbrella shape in half, then attach each half to a child’s sweatshirt sleeve and side. It’s adorable!

  9. How do you clean a plastic glove? Most gloves I’ve seen have a powdery residue inside…. sounds gross to put into a punch bowl. lol

  38. I love ALL YOU and HALLOWEEN one of my favorite holidays! I love the black pillowcase over the chair we have pumpkins over ours. I think the black vampires would make a great addition to our table.
