Have you heard of Nifti.com? Nifti is a new, free price-tracking tool that watches online sale prices of items you’re interested in buying. You can enter the price you want to pay, and when your item goes on sale for that price or less, Nifti emails you and lets you know it’s time to buy! What a great time-saver this is, especially if you’ve been watching a product online and waiting for a sale or clearance.

All you have to do is paste or drag the link of the product you’re interested in into your Nifti collection – much like creating a pin on Pinterest. Nifti then asks you what price you want to pay for the product. It watches sale prices on your item (or items) each day, then lets you know when an item goes on sale for the price you’re willing to pay. (I’ll walk you through how to use Nifti below – it’s very easy!)

So, let’s play with Nifti.com! It’s pretty easy to use.

I saw a cute boys’ shirt on JC Penney’s site that I liked:

I copied the URL of the item from my web browser, then clicked over to my Nifti.com page. At the top of the page, I clicked the “Add Product” button:

I pasted the JC Penney link in, and Nifti presented me with the following screen:

I entered $4 as the price I’d like to pay, then clicked the orange “Track” button. That’s it! Now, if this shirt drops to $4 or less, Nifti.com will automatically email me and let me know it’s time to buy. It will also track the item’s price changes every day, and I can log into my account at any time and see if the product’s price has gone up or down over the past few days, weeks or months.

Alternately, if you find the copy/pasting of your item’s URL into Nifti to be tedious (hey, for some people, it may be!) you can also drag the Nifti button to your browser’s bookmark bar. Then, when you’re browsing the web and see an item that you want Nifti to track the price of, simply click the button. It does not install a plug-in to your browser — it just creates a faster way to insert the current page’s link into Nifti:

You can also browse Nifti’s picks for what’s dropped in price recently among all items being tracked by the site. For example, look at how the site has tracked this pair of children’s jeans from Carter’s:

Clicking it brings up a graph showing how the price has dropped over time:

Pretty easy, no? I’m having fun playing with this, and I’m curious to see what kinds of results I get back from the items I’ve added to my Nifti page.

  41. Cool site but it told me it wasn’t accepting this link yet (to my url) but that they were working on it…perhaps they don’t track all sites?
