One of my favorite perks of being a Good Cook Kitchen Expert blogger is getting to try out many of the new kitchen gadgets Good Cook releases. This week, it was my pleasure to play with the new Sweet Creations Bake-A-Bowl pan! The Good Cook Bake-A-Bowl is a two-piece nonstick pan set. The lower pan holds whatever you’d like to bake a bowl of — brownie mix, cake mix, even mini meatloaf bowls are fair game! The upper pan nests inside the lower pan, ensuring that your bowls retain their bowl shape in the oven. I can’t wait to show you what I made with my pan, which we’ll get to in a moment, because… One of my readers will win this Good Cook Bake-A-Bowl pan! Are you ready to have some fun in the kitchen? To enter, simply post a reply in the comments! This Good Cook giveaway begins today, May 1, 2014, and runs for one week. The giveaway will end on May 7, 2013 at 11:59pm CST, and on May 8, one winner will be chosen via a random number generator!
Good Cook asked its bloggers to create a recipe with the Bake-A-Bowl pan. I immediately pictured my children happily enjoying ice cream sundaes in crunchy cookie bowls! So, I created:
Crispy Cinnamon Butter Cookie Bowls
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
A pinch of salt
1 cup softened butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
Preheat the oven to 350°. Whisk the flour, salt and cinnamon together in one bowl. In another bowl, with an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar until creamy. Add egg and mix. Then, add the dry ingredients slowly until well mixed.
Use a spatula to fill each cup of the Bake-A-Bowl lower pan with batter up to the fill line in the pan. Nest the top pan into the bottom pan. Bake for 20 minutes.
Carefully remove the top of the Bake-a-Bowl pan and reveal the cookie bowls. I let the bowls sit in the pan for about five minutes before gently lifting with a spatula and moving them to a baking rack to cool. The cookie bowls will be soft when you remove them from the pan, but they will harden and become crunchy as they cool. This recipe will make enough dough for nine bowls – one batch of 6, and a second batch of three. (You can always roll the extra dough into balls and bake as traditional cookies if you don’t wish to have nine bowls.) Serve with a scoop of ice cream inside each bowl. Yum!

What a super idea. Instead of using it to bake cookie-like things, I would love to try it with a turkey meatloaf bowl, filled with either stuffing or mashed potatoes. Also, mini lasagnas would be awesome, although it would take some thought as to how to combine the ingredients to successfully bake it to perfection! Game on!
