Here’s a great Groupon deal on admissions to the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, Illinois! Did you know it’s the largest railway museum in the USA?
This is one of my boys’ favorite “Staycation” places to go. The museum owns about 5 miles of track, so in addition to touring many buildings filled with historic trains, you can ride them around the museum’s property too. (If you’re a movie buff, the new Transformers movie was partially filmed at this museum last summer too — we went over one day to watch!)
Normally $10, museum admission is $5 with the Groupon. Plus, you’ll get another 15% off with code LOCAL15.
You can choose from any of the following deals:
$5 for admission for one, redeemable Monday–Friday only ($10 value)
$11 for admission for two, redeemable Monday–Friday only ($20 value)
$22 for admission for four, redeemable Monday–Friday only ($40 value)
$7 for admission for one, redeemable Saturday and Sunday only ($14 value)
$15 for admission for two, redeemable Saturday and Sunday only ($28 value)
$30 for admission for four, redeemable Saturday and Sunday only ($56 value)
(I don’t know why the admission for two is $11, not $10 – nor why the admission for four is $22, not $20. You’re allowed to buy up to five of the same Groupon, so I bought single vouchers vs. multiple-people vouchers.)
Note that while some trains and trolleys run every day, the steam engines and more well-known trains only run on the weekends. You may wish to check the museum’s schedule if you have specific trains you wish to ride, then shop accordingly.
Go get your Illinois Railway Museum admissions for as little as $4.75 each!
