Oh, how we love Santa’s Village. My sister and I grew up going there almost every year with our cousins. Both my mom and my aunt worked there when they were in high school as Santa’s pixies! Our whole family has great memories of this special little amusement park for young kids.
Santa’s Village closed back in 2006, and even though my son was still in a stroller and not big enough to ride much of anything, I took him there to say goodbye and walk the park one last time. Or so I thought.
In 2011, Santa’s Village reopened to new ownership, and we were proudly among the first families to visit the park that Fall. And now we go each year! There really aren’t any other amusement parks in Chicagoland for young kids. Santa’s Village even has some of the former Kiddieland rides on site now, which it acquired after Melrose Park’s Kiddieland closed in 2009. Where else can you go to relive a little of your childhood with your own kids?
