Perhaps this is common knowledge among Ibotta users, but it certainly wasn’t to me..! I’ll admit that I’ve been a bit lax about using Ibotta this summer. I am still couponing avidly, of course, but I haven’t used the app in over a month.
Tonight, I received an email from Ibotta notifying me that if I didn’t log in and interact with offers at least once a month, the app would begin deducting $3.99 from my Ibotta balance every month..! I of course logged in to make sure I didn’t lose what was in my account, then withdrew the entire balance.
I’m sharing this with my readers in case any of you have also had busy fun-filled summers and haven’t been hitting the coupon apps as often as you used to. The email I received is below.
Dear Jill cataldo,

Want to come back and earn cash?
Reactivating your account is simple! Just log in and engage with any Ibotta rebate (complete any task associated with a rebate – a quiz,, fact, joust, etc.). If you’ve forgotten your password, just select “forgot password” so that we can send you a link to reset your password. Check your spam folder if you are not seeing an email from us with password reset instructions.
30-Day Grace Period
Unfortunately, if you stay inactive for the next 30 days, as outlined in our Terms of Use, we will begin deducting $3.99 from your account balance each month until you have reactivated your account, or until your account balance has reached $0.00. We do this for legal reasons, and to comply with various rules and regulations. Again, the good news is that as long as you reactivate your account and keep it active, no cash will be deducted from your account.
