Last week, I had a $10-off-$10 coupon to use at JC Penney, and as I wandered around the store looking for a deal, I spotted these Acrylic Ruana Wraps on sale for $28. These were of interest to me because I have several blogger convention-type events coming up, most of which have advised that the conference rooms will be cold, and attendees should “bring a wrap.”
Well, I have a lot of scarves, but I didn’t have a wrap that would cover my arms completely. I wear a lot of black and white clothing (my husband says too much!) and when I spotted this fuchsia wrap, I was smitten. With a $10-off-$10, I paid $18, and I immediately started pairing it with some of my favorite dresses.
Trust me, the photos on JC Penney’s site do not do this wrap justice. Online, it looks like it’s made of a thin, gauzy, transparent fabric. It’s actually more of a lightweight, knitted sweater-style material. Unlike other wraps, it doesn’t have sleeves — it’s just cut to drape over the shoulders without falling off. (When you unfold it, it looks like a large square with a slit in it for your head and neck.)
Ever since I brought it home, I’ve been dressing up formerly-colorless outfits with a big pop of pink. I love it. And I think I’m going to go buy another one in another color…
