I know my blog is typically about groceries, but I thought I’d remind everyone that right now is a great time to shop summer clothes clearances! I love buying next-summer’s clothes for my kids right now when they are dirt, dirt cheap.
How cheap? Kohl’s & Carson Pirie Scott are having 80% off sales. Macy’s has 50% off the lowest clearance price, plus they have a coupon for an extra 15% off your entire purchase in today’s Tribune (yesterday’s too!)
I cannot even tell you how many shirts, tank tops and shorts I bought for my little guys today. I didn’t pay over $3 for anything. I bought Levi’s and Oshkosh brand shorts for under $3 each at Carson’s. Macy’s sales were just ridiculously good — $2.50 for Disney Cars light-up t-shirts, Marvel comics shirts, and other name brands… and then the coupon took an extra 15% off everything I bought there too.
And, hey, Macy’s? You finally got me back into your store. After you rebranded Marshall Fields over a year ago, I was one of the many former shoppers that vowed never to shop there again.
Then one of my boys got a Macy’s gift card from Grandpa for his birthday, which has been riding around in my wallet, silently reminding me that at some point, I’d have to go spend it. Today became that day. And after getting all these deals at Macy’s, I may finally have to put my unofficial boycott to rest. Good deals have a way of doing that to me!
