JC Penney’s weekly flyer has a $10-off-$25 coupon in it that’s good through today. So, I popped into JC Penney, because a coupon like that can often line up to something good.
There are a lot of children’s clearance sales going on in the store, with signs advertising prices up to 70% off. I didn’t find any bargains in my boys’ sizes — shirts were in the $7-and-up range, and my “buy” price is more like $2-3 per item, post-deal. So, I headed over to toddler clothes to look for some gifts for my adorable niece, who is just so much fun to shop for…
I ended up doing two transactions of clothes for her, taking everything home for under $3 per item, and most under $2.50!
Transaction #1:
– Carter’s zebra sleeper: $4.97
– Arizona long-sleeve blue stripe shirt: $2.97
– Arizona blue print tank top – $3.97
– Sugar Cookies floral sundress – $4.99
– Carter’s green dress – $3.97
– Carter’s “World’s Best Sister” shirt – $1.97
– Okie Dokie denim skirt – $2.97
Pre-coupon total: $25.81
After $10-off-$25: $15.81
With tax, I paid $17.04 for seven items – about $2.43 each!
Transaction #2:
– Little Lass blue & purple top/pants set: $6.99
– Okie Dokie zigzag romper: $3.99
– Carter’s navy stripe dress – $4.97
– Okie Dokie butterfly dress – $3.99
– Carter’s pink tank top – $2.97
– Carter’s indigo dress – $3.99
Pre-coupon total: $27.88
After $10-off-$25: $17.99
With tax, I paid $19.27 for six items – about $3.21 each! (Really seven items at $2.75 each if you count the two-piece set!)
I shopped at the Algonquin, Illinois JCP. They have a lot of toddler clothes on clearance in this price range, both for boys and girls. Remember that the coupon expires tonight if you’re interested in using it. Happy shopping!

While in Meijer last week I checked out their clearance. They had a $2 and under rack for infants-toddlers. Then a $5 and a $10 rack. Thanks to u I try and stay around $2-$3 per item also. Doesn’t save me money really cause I end up buying more tho! Anywho I found TONS of Carter’s clothes for $2-$3. Even some items for $1 or under. My DH wasnt too happy bc I spent $35, but I got tons of clothes for my niece’s 1st birthday next month, some Christmas presents and birthday presents for various babies next year, and some for a baby due in Dec. I can’t seem to help myself when it comes to baby clothes. Best part is hopefully when we have kids they will have the best hand me downs, lol. And starting Sat there’s an additional 15% off. I don’t think it excluded clearance either. Way better then the deals I get at Kohls.

I did not have much luck for my boys either. But I did grab me a bunch of new underware =D
I had 4 coupons and ended up giving 2 away.

That’s funny, I just came back from JCPenney too! I used 2 Qs and gave one away. I bought some pricier things for my boys- shorts that were $12-$15 each (but my boys are very big and wear men’s sizes), and couple of Nike shirts for $8 and $12 each. So after Qs, it was ok price for those. I was looking for something more fashionable for my 7th grader. :)
I also bought a bunch of stuff at Aeropostle since I heard that was fashionable in middle school. They had additional 30% off clearance, so T-shirts were like $2.80 and $4.19 after discount! Shorts around $6-$7, many other things 50% off, or BOGO… On top of that they gave me a Q in store for $25/$100 (or $10/$50), so that was an awesome deal!!!
