Jewel-Osco Deals of the Week: 11/13/13 – 11/19/13

16-50ct. Hefty foam plates and bowls are on sale for $1.50. Buy two and use the $1-off-2 from the 11/10 RP, 9/15 SS or a printable to drop these to $1!

T hrough December 1, 50ct. Essential Everyday casual foam plates are on sale for $1.79. Use this .75 printable (Click “Essential Everyday” in the left column to select coupon) and pay $1.04.

15oz. cans of Libby’s canned pumpkin are 3-for-$5. Buy two and use the .75-off-2 from the 11/3 SS2. Pay $2.58 for two, or $1.29 each.

1.48-4oz. Gerber Graduates snacks are on sale for $1.88. Buy three and use this $1-off-3 printable (Puffs or Lil Crunchies) or $1-off-3 printable (Grabbers Snacks) to drop these to about $1.55 each.

14oz. Essential Everyday shredded coconut is $1.69. Use the .50 coupon from the Jewel Big Book of Savings and pay $1.19!

Pepsi and Canfields 24-pack cans, 6-packs of 24oz. bottles and 8-packs of 12oz. bottles are all on sale 4-for-$11, limit 8. The 11/3 SS1 has a $2-off-2 coupon for the bottles. With two coupons, pay $7 for four multipack bottles, or $1.75 per multipack!

 The 6-pack bottles are your best bet here – total 144 ounces vs. 96 ounces for the 12oz. bottles

15oz. tubs of Frigo ricotta cheese are on sale for $2.50. Use the .55 coupon from the 10/13 SS and pay $1.95.

7-11.25oz. New York frozen bread and breadsticks are on sale for $2.50. Use the .40 coupon from the 11/10 SS or 9/15 SS and pay $2.10.

1.5qt. cartons of Breyer’s ice cream and 4-6ct. Klondike bars and ice cream sandwiches are all on sale 4-for-$10. You must buy four (mix or match) to receive this price.

16oz. Land O Frost premium lunchmeat is on sale for $3.50. Use the $1 coupon from the 11/3 RP or a printable and pay $2.50.

10oz. bags of Fisher baking nuts are $4.99. Use the $1 coupon from the 11/3 SS1 or 10/6 SS2 and pay $3.99.

20lb. Tidy Cats cat litter is on sale for $6.98. Use the $1 coupon from the 10/27 RP and pay $5.98.

If you wear your Chicago Bears jersey on any 2013 Bears football game day, Jewel will take 10% off your grocery bill! This is after all coupons, and is not valid on prescriptions, alcohol, tobacco and other usual exclusions.

Jewel has a new Rachael Ray Dinnerware promotion running. You can earn a stamp for every $10 you spend in store. Save them up and cash them in for free Rachael Ray dinnerware. You can choose from dinner plates, salad plates, soup/cereal bowls and mugs. The dinnerware will hit stores on 9/4.

For every 20 stamps you collect, you can choose one free item. For every stamp saver card you fill, you can choose six free items. Or, collect 10 stamps and pay $2.99, plus your stamps, for one item.

Jewel’s coupon policy allows shoppers to apply manufacturer coupon overage to other items in the same transaction. It also allows two manufacturer coupons to be used on a Buy One Get One Free sale. However, the registers are currently programmed to adjust coupons down to match the sale price of an item, and to scan the second coupon on a B1G1F at $0.00. Corporate has stated that the cashiers are supposed to manually enter the overage and second B1G1F coupon.

Watch very closely with two coupons on a Buy One Get One Free. The second coupon will appear to scan fine, but it will show as $0.00 at the register. Be prepared to call on your cashier to manually adjust this for you immediately if they do not intervene.

 If you anticipate any issues with this, I would recommend carrying a copy of Jewel’s coupon policy, which outlines both of these issues clearly.

You do not need to use your Preferred Card to receive sale prices anymore. But if you want to use SavingStar ecoupons and Jewel’s own ecoupons, continue to use your card.  Don’t discard it if you have Fuel Rewards on the card, or if you intend to continue using ecoupons at Jewel! SavingStar has confirmed they will still continue their offers at Jewel. We have also noticed that you get many more Catalina coupons (the per-product kind that are for specific items, like “.75 off Prego pasta sauce”) when you use your Jewel card, as your purchase history is tied to it.

The “Big Book of Savings” Jewel-Osco monthly ad has a coupon for a $25 Jewel-Osco gift card with a new or transferred prescription, and a $75 Jewel-Osco gift card with 5 more refills. The coupons expire 12/28/13, so KEEP some if you will need them down the line. They have been putting these in the ads off and on, but better to have some when you need them.

There is a second ad new for 10/29, and it’s called the “Big Book of Savings.” So as not to confuse it with previous month’s books, let’s call this one the “My RX Care” book as it has a woman promoting the My RX Care prescription program on the cover. It’s filled with sales and coupons that run through November 26, 2013. I am only blogging the best deals from this book (as with any ad.)

The Big Book of Savings has a coupon for $1 off one pound of Dietz & Watson sliced deli meats and cheeses. It’s good through 11/26.

15ct. Mentos gum bottles are on sale for $1. Use the .75 coupon from the 9/29 SS and pay .25!

6oz. Yoplait Fruitful yogurt is on sale for $1. Use the .30 coupon from the 10/13 SS and pay .70.

16oz. Argo cornstarch is on sale for $1.49. Buy two and use the .90-off-2 from the 10/6 RP. Pay $2.08 for two, or $1.04 each! There’s also a .40 coupon in the 10/6RP.

Fleischmann’s yeast strips .75oz. are on sale for $1.49. Use the .40 coupon from the 10/6 RP or 9/8 RP and pay $1.09!

25.4oz. bottles of Kedem sparkling juice are on sale for $3. There is an online rebate that will refund you $1.50 per bottle, for up to 4 bottles. That drops these to $1.50 per bottle. And, the Big Book of Savings has a coupon for a FREE bag of Elite chocolate coins with purchase of one bottle of Kedem!

16oz. Karo syrup is on sale for $2.49. Buy two and use the .90-off-2 from the 10/6 RP to drop these to $2.04 each! That insert, and the 9/8 RP, also have .40 coupons.

13.3-16oz. State Fair corn dogs are on sale for $3.49. Use the .75 coupon from the 10/27 RP and pay $2.74.

20-32oz. Tyson breaded chicken is on sale for $4.99. For nuggets, use the .75 coupon from the 8/18 SS and pay $4.24. For strips, use the .75 coupon from the 10/13 SS and again, pay $4.24.
