Jewel-Osco Deals of the Week: 11/29/13 – 12/3/13

So, buy four. Use four $1 coupons or two $2-off-2 coupons. Pay $16 and get a $3 Catalina! That’s $13 for four, or $3.25 each!

12-16oz. Farmland bacon is $3.99. Buy two and use the $1-off-2 from the 8/25 SS (exp. 11/30!) to drop these to $3.49.

Angel Soft 12 double roll and 24 regular roll packs of bath tissue, and Sparkle 8 regular or 6 big pack rolls of paper towels are both on sale for $5.50. Buy ONE of EACH and get $2 in instant savings, dropping these to $4.50 per multipack. Use one .45 Angel Soft coupon from the 11/17 RP and one $1 Sparkle coupon from the July All You (or, the .50 coupon from the 11/17 RP.) With one .50 coupon and one $1 coupon, pay $7.50 for both. That’s like paying $3.75 per multipack! For Angel Soft, this works out to about .16 per regular roll and .31 per double roll — and for Sparkle, about .63 per big roll or .47 per regular roll. Good prices all around!

Tooth Tunes toothbrushes (the ones that play music in your mouth while you brush!) are $5.98. Use the $1 coupon from the 11/24 SS and pay $4.98.

If you wear your Chicago Bears jersey on any 2013 Bears football game day, Jewel will take 10% off your grocery bill! This is after all coupons, and is not valid on prescriptions, alcohol, tobacco and other usual exclusions.

The next game day is Dec. 1 against the Vikings. GO BEARS! Here’s the full Bears season schedule for reference. 

Jewel has a new Rachael Ray Dinnerware promotion running. You can earn a stamp for every $10 you spend in store. Save them up and cash them in for free Rachael Ray dinnerware. You can choose from dinner plates, salad plates, soup/cereal bowls and mugs. The dinnerware will hit stores on 9/4.

For every 20 stamps you collect, you can choose one free item. For every stamp saver card you fill, you can choose six free items. Or, collect 10 stamps and pay $2.99, plus your stamps, for one item.

Jewel’s coupon policy allows shoppers to apply manufacturer coupon overage to other items in the same transaction. It also allows two manufacturer coupons to be used on a Buy One Get One Free sale. However, the registers are currently programmed to adjust coupons down to match the sale price of an item, and to scan the second coupon on a B1G1F at $0.00. Corporate has stated that the cashiers are supposed to manually enter the overage and second B1G1F coupon.

Watch very closely with two coupons on a Buy One Get One Free. The second coupon will appear to scan fine, but it will show as $0.00 at the register. Be prepared to call on your cashier to manually adjust this for you immediately if they do not intervene.

 If you anticipate any issues with this, I would recommend carrying a copy of Jewel’s coupon policy, which outlines both of these issues clearly.

You do not need to use your Preferred Card to receive sale prices anymore. But if you want to use SavingStar ecoupons and Jewel’s own ecoupons, continue to use your card.  Don’t discard it if you have Fuel Rewards on the card, or if you intend to continue using ecoupons at Jewel! SavingStar has confirmed they will still continue their offers at Jewel. We have also noticed that you get many more Catalina coupons (the per-product kind that are for specific items, like “.75 off Prego pasta sauce”) when you use your Jewel card, as your purchase history is tied to it.

There’s a new “Big Book of Savings” ad valid 11/29-12/31. It has a woman in a blue sweater on the cover advertising the MyRXcare prescription savings program.

UPDATE: That’s exactly what they did. Jewel posted a notice in-store that the 2-for-$1 price in the ad is a misprint, and these are now 2-for-$4. They’ll be $1.50 each after the deal. Not nearly as good…

Through 12/31, Red Star Platinum baking yeast strips are on sale for .99. Use the .40 coupon from the 11/10 SS and pay .59!

Jewel’s site has a new $1 printable coupon for Essential Everyday refrigerated canned rolls. I think these are around $1.69 each every day. If so, with coupon, they’ll be about .69!

Jewel’s site has a new $1 printable coupon for Essential Everyday brown sugar. I think the regular price on the 2lb. bags are $1.99, so this should only be about .99 after coupon!

5.75-6oz. Pearls pitted or stuffed olives are on sale for $1.50. Buy two and use the $1-off-2 from the December Big Book of Savings to drop these to $1 per can.

12ct. Ortega taco shells are on sale for $1.50. Buy two and use the .50-off-2 from the 9/29 SS to drop these to $1.25 per box.
