Several readers have reported seeing small bottles of Tide on sale for $1.99 – at some stores, these are near the register. We didn’t have them at my store, but apparently they are not trial size, so you can use coupons on these.

With access to one computer, use two printables and one $1-off-2 insert coupon. Pay $10.96 and get a $3 Catalina. $7.96 for four is $1.99 per box!

You may also wish to print and hold these coupons to see if the Milk Bones go on sale before this Catalina ends, or before the insert coupons expire. But, anything under $2/box is a good price for Milk Bones, so you won’t go wrong buying them at this price if you’d like them now.

$1.84 – $2.84 Finish dishwasher tabs

Several readers have been wondering if we’re going to see a “great” deal on Finish dishwasher tabs before those nice $2.15 coupons from the 1/5 SS3 expire on 2/8. While we haven’t seen a free or better-than-free deal, here are a couple better-than-missing-out deals..!

At my Jewel (Huntley) today, I spotted 40ct. regular Finish dishwasher tabs on sale for $4.99 through 2/23. This is a “25% More Free” package, which looks like this (see photo.) The non-bonus 30ct. is the same price, so go for the big ones here to maximize your deal. With the $2.15 coupon from the 1/5 SS3, pay $2.84, which works out to about .07 per load.

The 20ct. Finish Quantum Powerball tabs were also on sale for $4.99. With coupon, pay $2.84, which works out to about .14 per load.

I also saw the 20ct. boxes of regular Finish tabs at $3.99, regular price. With coupon, pay $1.84, which works out to about .09 per load.

$1.98 Rolaids

72-150ct. Rolaids are on sale for $3.98. Use the $2 coupon from the 1/5 RP1 (exp. 2/1!) and pay $1.98!

$1.99 – $2.82 Tide Simply Clean

40oz. bottles of Tide Simply Clean (this is a new mid-priced Tide in a yellow bottle – I found it on an endcap near the detergent aisle – see a photo here) are on sale for $3.49 through 3/2. Page 4 of the new ad shows a $20 rebate offer. If you buy:

– One Bud 18 pack or larger, cans or bottles (24-packs are $13.99)
– One 12-pack or larger Pepsi-Cola product (12-packs are $3.99 each, but they drop to $2.50 each when you buy four)
– One Frito Lay chips or snacks (9.5-10oz. Lay’s chips are $2)

AND your grocery receipt is over $100, you can send in for a $20 rebate. If you plan to buy that much, the total for all three of these items is $19.98, so you’re basically getting them free. If you plan to buy four Pepsi items, the 12-pack drops in price, and you’ll be spending $18.49 to get a $20 rebate on these items (but again, you’ll have to buy more Pepsi too.) Look in-store for the tearpad with this rebate.

Jewel no longer requires Preferred Card, but…

You do not need to use your Preferred Card to receive sale prices anymore. But if you want to use SavingStar ecoupons and Jewel’s own ecoupons, continue to use your card. Don’t discard it if you have Fuel Rewards on the card, or if you intend to continue using ecoupons at Jewel! SavingStar has confirmed they will still continue their offers at Jewel. We have also noticed that you get many more Catalina coupons (the per-product kind that are for specific items, like “.75 off Prego pasta sauce”) when you use your Jewel card, as your purchase history is tied to it.

FREE Cookie Credit Card for kids at Jewel

Pick up a free “Cookie Credit Card” in the bakery, and your child can get a free cookie with every visit to Jewel.

Link your Mastercard to Fuel Rewards Network for new Jewel fuel rewards program

Fuel Rewards are back at Jewel-Osco — that is, if you have a MasterCard. Visit the Fuel Rewards Network at www.fuelrewards.com and create a free account. Or, if you already have an account, log in. Link your MasterCard to your FRN account. Then, pay with your MasterCard when you shop at Jewel-Osco, and you’ll earn a .05/gallon reward for every $50 spent in store. Your fuel rewards points are redeemable at Shell gas stations.

A note on overage and B1G1F sales

Jewel’s coupon policy allows shoppers to apply manufacturer coupon overage to other items in the same transaction. It also allows two manufacturer coupons to be used on a Buy One Get One Free sale. However, the registers are currently programmed to adjust coupons down to match the sale price of an item, and to scan the second coupon on a B1G1F at $0.00. Corporate has stated that the cashiers are supposed to manually enter the overage and second B1G1F coupon.

Watch very closely with two coupons on a Buy One Get One Free. The second coupon will appear to scan fine, but it will show as $0.00 at the register. Be prepared to call on your cashier to manually adjust this for you immediately if they do not intervene.

If you anticipate any issues with this, I would recommend carrying a copy of Jewel’s coupon policy, which outlines both of these issues clearly.

I didn’t want to put this in the deals above as it isn’t really a grocery deal, but in Huntley today I spotted an endcap of Kitchen Selectives 1.5qt. slow cookers for $5.49 each! That’s super cheap if you need a little slow cooker and your store has these :)

I asked a guy who was working scanning stuff in the laundry aisle if they were getting any tiny Tides in and he said Friday. If so, the good coupons expire on 1-31….so run, don’t walk to get the FREE bottles. (or slide on the ice!) brrrrrrrrrrrrrr it’s cold out!

FYI, The small Tide bottles on sale for $1.99 are 10 oz. bottles. There are different varieties (e.g. bleach alternative, original, with Downy). In Glenview, there were LOTS of them on cardboard displays by the registers.

However, on one of the end caps, there were 40 oz. bottles of Tide on sale for $3.49. I think they were yellow — can’t remember what the difference was (e.g. it was a special line or something). If you use the P&G coupons on these, that brings it to $1.99/40 oz… essentially the same price as the small 10 oz bottles, but you get the equivalent of 4 small bottles with one coupon, if that makes sense.

Anyway, I wanted to get the other kinds of Tide which is why I can’t remember what the yellow ones were. But if your store has them and it doesn’t matter to you what kind, you can get the 40 oz bottles for $1.99!

Regarding this: Fresh bone-in pork shoulder roast is $1.69/lb.

My cashier told me today that these are ringing up Buy 2 Get 1 FREE! She told me to go get two more as I was buying one. I went back and got two more, and the least expensive one was FREE. What a great deal!

Apparently, some local Jewel ads do NOT have the free water deal in them – they have a kosher foods sale instead. I do not know if the free water deal is working at these stores (I would hope so!) but if it is not coming off at the register, check your ad and see what it says…

My store also had the free-water signs up on the shelf near the Progresso, so if you see the tags in store, you should be good to go.
