Jewel-Osco Deals of the Week: 2/26/14 – 3/4/14

10-12oz. Snyder’s of Hanover pretzels are on sale for $2.50. Buy two and use the $1-off-2 from the 3/2 SS to drop these to $2 per bag.

They’re also part of a  SavingStar ecoupon offer through 3/5: Get $5.00 when you spend $20.00 on any Snyder’s of Hanover® Pretzels (5 oz. or larger). So, if you want to go pretzel crazy, buy eight ($20.) Use four $1-off-2 coupons. Get $5 back, making this $11 for eight, or about $1.38 per bag.

9.5-15.3oz. Oreo cookies are on sale for $2.49. Buy three and get a FREE gallon of Jewel milk. The 2/9 SS and 1/26 SS have .75-off-2 coupons.

Your best bet is to buy SIX Oreos and two gallons of milk. Use three .75-off-2 coupons. Pay $12.69 for six packages of Oreos AND two gallons of milk — like paying about $1.59 per item!

Kotex Natural Balance 4-24 ct. Pads, 40-64 ct. Liners or 18 ct. Tampons are on sale for $2.50. Buy two and use the $1.50-off-2 coupon from the 1/26 SS. Pay $3.50 for two, or $1.75 each!

13oz. Nutella spread is on sale for $3.50. If you still have the Buy One Get One Free printables (no longer available) buy two. Pay $3.50 for two, or $1.75 each.

5-8oz. Sargento shredded cheeses are $2.50. Buy two and use the .55-off-2 coupon from the 1/26 SS (exp. 3/2!) Pay $4.45 for two, or $2.23 each. If you have Jewel Monopoly store coupons from the game, check them too — I have some .25 off Sargento coupons to stack.

32-150ct. Tums are on sale for $3.98. Use the $1.50 coupon from the 1/26 RP2 and pay $2.48.

Assorted boxes and bags of Milk-Bone dog treats are $3.49. They’re also part of a new Catalina through 3/23: Buy 2 and get a $1 Catalina. The 2/9 RP has a $1-off-2 coupon. With coupon, pay $5.98 and get a $1 Catalina. That’s $4.98 for two, or $2.49 each.

40oz. bottles of Tide Simply Clean (this is a new mid-priced Tide in a yellow bottle – I found it on an endcap near the detergent aisle – see a photo here) are on sale for $3.49 through 3/2. Through 2/28 buy three. Use the $2-off-3 from the 1/26 PG. Pay $8.47 for three, or $2.82 each!

27-29oz. Perdue breaded chicken (strips, nuggets) is $3.99. Use this $1 printable and pay $2.99!

You do not need to use your Preferred Card to receive sale prices anymore. But if you want to use SavingStar ecoupons and Jewel’s own ecoupons, continue to use your card.  Don’t discard it if you have Fuel Rewards on the card, or if you intend to continue using ecoupons at Jewel! SavingStar has confirmed they will still continue their offers at Jewel. We have also noticed that you get many more Catalina coupons (the per-product kind that are for specific items, like “.75 off Prego pasta sauce”) when you use your Jewel card, as your purchase history is tied to it.

Pick up a free “Cookie Credit Card” in the bakery, and your child can get a free cookie with every visit to Jewel. And, pick up a “Healthy Eaters” card at the customer service counter, and your child can get a FREE banana or Red Delicious apple when they shop with you. Through 12/31/14.

Fuel Rewards are back at Jewel-Osco — that is, if you have a MasterCard. Visit the Fuel Rewards Network at www.fuelrewards.com and create a free account. Or, if you already have an account, log in. Link your MasterCard to your FRN account. Then, pay with your MasterCard when you shop at Jewel-Osco, and you’ll earn a .05/gallon reward for every $50 spent in store. Your fuel rewards points are redeemable at Shell gas stations.

Jewel’s coupon policy allows shoppers to apply manufacturer coupon overage to other items in the same transaction. It also allows two manufacturer coupons to be used on a Buy One Get One Free sale. However, the registers are currently programmed to adjust coupons down to match the sale price of an item, and to scan the second coupon on a B1G1F at $0.00. Corporate has stated that the cashiers are supposed to manually enter the overage and second B1G1F coupon.

Watch very closely with two coupons on a Buy One Get One Free. The second coupon will appear to scan fine, but it will show as $0.00 at the register. Be prepared to call on your cashier to manually adjust this for you immediately if they do not intervene.

 If you anticipate any issues with this, I would recommend carrying a copy of Jewel’s coupon policy, which outlines both of these issues clearly.

There’s a new “Big Book of Savings” ad valid 2/26/14-4/1/14. The cover of the book has an ad for the new Monopoly “Shop Play Win” game beginning at Jewel. Note that this is not an actual “book,” but a supplemental ad to the weekly ad. Pick it up at the service counter or on racks at Jewel.

.75-1.25oz. Sun Bird Asian seasonings are .89 each. Buy two and use this .55 off 2 printable. Pay $1.23 for two, or about .62 each.

4.4-4.62oz. Pringles are on sale for $1. Buy four and use the $1-off-4 from the 1/26 RP1 (exp. 3/23) and drop these to .75 per can.

13.5-28oz. Alexia frozen potatoes or onion rings are on sale for $2.50. Use the $1 coupon from the 1/19 SS2 (exp. 3/2!) and pay $1.50! Good price for these.

4.8-9.6oz. Jolly Time microwave popcorn is $2. Use the .50 coupon from the 1/5 SS1 (exp. 2/28!) and pay $1.50.

64oz. Blue Diamond Almond Breeze milk is on sale for $3. Use this $1 printable and pay $2. The 2/23 SS has a $1 coupon for the reduced-sugar variety of this too (exp. 3/31.)

8-12oz. Boca meatless products are on sale for $3. Use the .75 coupon from the 1/26 RP2 (exp. 3/23) and pay $2.25.
