Note: I refer to coupon inserts found in the Chicago Tribune, as it is the newspaper with the largest quantity of high-value coupons for Chicagoland.

Jewel-Osco Grocery Deals

The following stores have ad differences again this week:

1220 S Ashland Ave, Chicago, IL 60608 – Page 5 has different meat deals than were in my ad, including .69/lb. chicken and $2.99/lb. catfish. These are noted in the meat deals below with asterisks. Page 6 has a “Savor and Save” ad with:

  • 12oz. Frank’s RedHot sauce on sale for $1.50 – use the .35 coupon from the 1/19 SS1 and pay $1.15.
  • Essential Everyday 24oz. ketchup and 16oz. mustard are .88 each
  • 5.7oz. Zatarain’s rice mixes are $1.25. Buy two and use the .50-off-2 from the 2/16 RP to drop these to $1 each.

2485 Howard St, Evanston, Illinois 60202 – Page 6 has a “Taking Kosher Shopping to a Whole New Level” ad with:

  • $1.25 Kedem 6.5oz. sparkling grape juice, limit 12

Buy 7 Smart Ones entrees, making sure 6 of them are breakfasts. Use the $2-off-$7 printable. Pay $12 and get $4 back. That’s $8 for 7, or about $1.14 each!

Your lowest out-of-pocket deal is to buy one Tide and two Downy liquid ($18.97.) Get $5 instant savings (now $13.97.) Use one $1 Tide coupon and the $1.50-off-2 Downy coupon. Pay $11.47 for all three, or about $3.82 per item!

Buy 2 and get a $1 Catalina

Now, I have alerts from Meijer, Safeway and Price Chopper, so it’s likely that this is also running at Jewel. If you’d like to try, buy four ($20.) Get a $3 Catalina, making these $17 for four, or $4.25 each.

Watch very closely with two coupons on a Buy One Get One Free. The second coupon will appear to scan fine, but it will show as $0.00 at the register. Be prepared to call on your cashier to manually adjust this for you immediately if they do not intervene.

 If you anticipate any issues with this, I would recommend carrying a copy of Jewel’s coupon policy, which outlines both of these issues clearly.

  2. The coupon for this item says, “Redeemable at Walmart,” I’m not sure if Jewel will take it. I’ve lost track of all the changes Jewel has made regarding coupons.

  4. Regarding the $1.50 off 2 Downy coupon that is mentioned in your recommended deal, does that refer to the coupon from the 2/23 SS? The fine print on that coupon only lists Downy Unstoppables (not the liquid). Am I missing something? Am I allowed to use the $1 off 2 Downy from the 3/2 PG along with a $0.50 off 1 Downy coupon to create the aforementioned $1.50 off 2 Downy?

  6. I was just in the Spring Grove Jewel tonight and the breakfast entrees were not part of the $2.00 ones. They were 3.49. Being that 6 had to be breakfast to get the $4.00 back it didn’t work out so I didn’t get anything. I did bring up one of them to make sure they were indeed not on sale.

    Are the prices different in other stores?
