Note that you cannot use the coupon on two items that total less than $2.50. The two items must exceed $2.50. But, here are some good candidates. All prices were gathered at the Huntley Jewel:

Here are some ideas:

One EE scrub sponge ($1.09) and one EE 2-pack erasers, steel wool or big paper towel roll ($1.49) – total $2.58. After coupon, pay .08 for both!

One roll of EE paper towels ($1) and one EE 64-ounce bleach ($1.69) – total, $2.69. After coupon, just .19!

One roll of EE paper towels ($1) and one EE toilet bowl cleaner ($1.89) – total, $2.89. After coupon, just .39!

NOTE: This $2.50 coupon has NOT been scanning automatically at the register. Make sure it comes off your total, or have the cashier adjust it for you.

Buy 2 and get a $1.50 Catalina;

Here’s a .70 printable, and the 3/24 RP has a $1-off-2 coupon (exp. 5/19!)

With two .70 printables and one $1-off-2, pay $5.56 for four boxes and get a $4 Catalina! That’s $1.56 for four, or .39 per box!

With four .70 printables, pay $5.16 and get a $4 Catalina! That’s $1.16 for four, or .29 per box!

The 4/7 SS has a $1 coupon. With two coupons, buy two. Pay $2 and get a $1 Catalina, making these $1 for two jars, or .50 each!

With three coupons, buy three. Pay $3 and get a $2 Catalina, making these $1 for THREE jars, or about .33 each!

While this one is not in the ad, the rolls are still scanning at $1. I had one reader write last week who did not see sale tags at the store, but also did not scan a roll. Why not scan a roll and see if your store has them for $1 too?

The Jewel Allergy Relief coupon book has a $1.50 store coupon for children’s vitamins too. At my store (Huntley,) Equaline 60-count Children’s Multivitamins are $5.49, B1G1F. With one $1.50 store coupon and two .75 manufacturer coupons, pay $2.49 for TWO bottles, or about $1.25 each! GREAT price for kids’ vitamins!

UPDATE: The .75 tearpad coupons did not scan for me when I did this deal. My cashier rang them in manually.

  3. I was at the Bolingbrook Jewel this morning and purchased 5 Barilla pasta’s, 3 Dunkin Hines brownie mixes, 1 Dunkin Hines cake mix, and 1-2pk lever bar of soap. The 5 dollars never came off my total. After brining a manager over and verifying every I purchased was the correct size they still wouldn’t take 5 dollars off my bill instead (after 10min.) they send me over to the customer service counter and gave me a $5 catalina off my next purchase. Not totally horrible, however not the perfect solution. I did everything correct per Jewels add….very frustrating.

  4. The Jewel 24 pk water would be $1.49, not $.99 and the Suave header/body prices do not match. Just thought you would want to know! :)

  5. I ran over to Jewel to get a Redbox (remember your free rental Catalinas expire 5/31!) and went in to run some deals too. Things I saw:

    The Duncan Hines Red Velvet cake mixes at my store had .35 peelies on them, making them .40 after the “Buy 10” deal — I only had two printables so I bought a couple of these too :)

    The Duncan Hines Devil’s Food cake mixes had peelies for a free Duncan Hines Flavor Creations frosting flavor on them too.

    My “Buy 10” $5 savings DID come off after buying ten Duncan Hines cake and brownie mixes. I didn’t buy anything else in that deal.

    I ran the Equaline Children’s vitamin deal today and it worked fine, aside from the fact that the .75 peelies from the Equaline vitamin display don’t scan at all..! My cashier just keyed them in manually.

    AND, I got a Catalina alert (see it here) for Tombstone pizza: Beginning Monday, 5/20, buy four and get a coupon for a FREE Tombstone Garlic Dipping Bites pizza, up to $7.01 value, when you buy four pizzas in one transaction through 6/16. With them being $2.50 this week, you will pay $10 for four and get a Catalina for a fifth free – SWEET!

    WAIT UNTIL MONDAY for this deal if you’re interested in buying Tombstone this week!

  7. The 5lbs of Papa Charlie’s is really about only 2.5 lbs of meat. I emailed them a couple of years ago and they told me their containers are about 50% meat, 50% juice. Still tastes good, but not as cheap as they would like people to believe.

  8. I went to Jewel last night. Bought 2 bags of Fresh Express salad and a 16 oz box of strawberries. Tried to use 3 coupons:

    1. MQ – buy two bags of FE salad, get $2 off strawberries
    2. MQ – save $.55 on FE salad (two) of these

    Cashier scanned the first one (2.00 MQ), then the second one.The second one wouldn’t scan. Manager said I could use one or the other two, but not all three.

    I argued that the first coupon was for the berries and the other two were for the salad bags. Still refused to redeem all three at once. Who’s right? Thank you.

    And
    You have Oscar Meyer wieners in the no coupon needed section, but isn’t there a coupon in 4/28SS? That should work, right? if so, even better deal! Woohoo for summer hot dogs.

  11. I got the following email message back after uploading a picture of my Jewel receipt. I bought >$25 worth of Tide.

    “Congratulations, your purchase has been verified. Please complete your shipping information here http://www.uid8.com/?junCQ8I.”

    There was no link given so I copied and pasted the web address into the browser, it went nowhere!!

    Has anyone else had this problem?

    I called the 888 number this morning and all he told me was that I had to mail in the receipt and the form. So frustrating to get mixed messages.

  12. The boxes of Keebler crackers that I bought had peelies for free eggs when you buy 2 boxes of crackers. When the cashier pulled them off they were expired but the manager said they would take them since the store should have taken the coupons off when they expired. $1.16 for 4 boxes of crackers and 2 dozen eggs !!
