I just received a press release from Jewel-Osco. The Avenu ecoupon program is being discontinued on Monday, June 18th:
Effective Monday, June 18th, we will be discontinuing our Avenu program and next week we’ll be announcing a new way for customers to save at our stores. I know your readers enjoyed saving through our Avenu program, but I’m excited to share new savings opportunities for our shoppers in the coming weeks. Lowering prices on thousands of items in the store is just one of the exciting new changes coming to JEWEL-OSCO this summer. Our customers can still enjoy discounts using our Preferred Savings program, it is just Avenu that is going to be discontinued.
We can’t say that we didn’t see this one coming… Avenu’s offers have not been very strong as of late, unfortunately. I’m hoping for better things as they roll out more of their new programs over the summer.

I’m sorry, but I’m not sure if this has anything to do with Savingstar? Savingstar seems to work very similarly by registering your preferred cards with them and you get reimbursed for buying the products you check online. I actually had a couple good payouts with it recently and I’m very pleased with the deals even though they aren’t instant.

the “gotta love lower prices” they are rolling out – I was told prices will be down to Food 4
Less levels by September.
