Am I finally going to have to jump on the smartphone bandwagon, guys? :) I have diligently been holding out..!

about this app. Unless you can sign into Avenu from it (I have login issues w/the app), Dom’s actually has the better app.

Jill…I am feeling the same way lately!! I don’t want to get a smartphone and have to pay the extra $30-some dollars extra a month….but it seems like EVERYTHING is geared towards those phones and I feel like I am not “keeping up” with the changes of the world. all the QR codes that is now on everything that you can scan with your phone…coupons that you load on your phone…all these apps…I am so wanting an iPhone but need a GOOD reason as to WHY I should pay an extra $30 a month for it (plus the upfront cost OF the phone!). Why does it have to be that much more?! ugh. Any suggestions as to why I should get one are welcome! :)

Jill – I feel the same way you do. I don’t have a smart phone and have no desire for one. I dislike the feeling of always being connected. I don’t text at all. I actually enjoy talking to people! Today I was near Dominick’s and I thought I’d run in quick and grab the cheap Doritos, but when I got inside I realized I forgot to load them onto my JFU. I thought “Oh well, not meant to be”, but then I realized my Doms has a computer in front of the service desk so I logged on, added them, and was out the door quick with my chips! Ended up working out after all….and no smart phone, ha! :-)

Well, I just got my first smartphone and I will say it has already saved me money. I saved 10 cents a gallon in gas just by driving 1/2 mile farther than my “normal” gas station using the gasbuddy app. I’ve also found items on sale and checked coupontom for a coupon with my phone while shopping. Since I keep them in my car, it was easy to go cut them before checking out at the grocery store. Has it saved me $30 a month yet? No, but I’ve only had it two weeks. Since I save well over $30 a month just by using coupons, it’s been my “treat” to myself. Did I forget to mention the iPhone only cost me $20 since I traded in my old flip phone and had a loyalty credit, lol?!
