Jewel-Osco to Discontinue Fuel Rewards Program – Company redirects investment to lower store prices
(Itasca, June 5, 2013) Jewel-Osco announced today that it will discontinue its Fuel Rewards program effective June 25th, the last day customers can earn fuel reward points. The last day to redeem Fuel Rewards at the pump will be on July 31st. Any rewards that are not redeemed by July 31st will be forfeited.
After considerable evaluation, the company determined it would rather redirect its investment in this program towards lowering prices at the store. Jewel-Osco has already lowered prices on items customers purchase every day like eggs, milk, and bananas. Today’s announcement continues the company’s long term focus on offering quality products and competitive prices.
