An interesting find in the Jewel dairy case today

I headed over to Jewel this morning to pick up the new April Jewel Big Book (yes, Jewel deals and matchups are coming later today!) and get a few things, and when I headed over to get some organic milk, this is what I saw:

Next to the Wild Harvest milk — O Organics milk! O Organics is Safeway’s house brand. I hadn’t seen O Organics products in a store since Dominick’s closed a year ago. At first, I wondered if this was another strange case of one store’s brand showing up at another’s, like the time many of us spotted Meijer pasta on clearance at Jewel.

That’s not the case here though. I spoke with an employee, who said we can expect to see more O Organics items at Jewel soon as the Albertsons/Safeway merger was recently completed.

UPDATE: I got home and began flipping through the Big Book, I spotted an ad for O Organics and Open Nature brands at Jewel too!

Hi- That explains why I have seen a lot of Wild Harvest stuff on clearance at Jewel lately, including cocoa, pasta and a few other things.

Since they’re merging, will we be able to use the JFU coupon site that is still available for Safeway, at Jewel. I much preferred that to the MyMixx. My guess, probably not :( The special JFU prices, combined with the coupons made for some great deals!

i hope they bring in the open nature and ranchers reserve line of meat products. they were of better quality than jewel’s in my opinion.
