Jewel-Osco Deals of the Week: 9/3/14 – 9/9/14

You do not need to use your Preferred Card to receive sale prices anymore. But if you want to use SavingStar ecoupons and Jewel’s own ecoupons, continue to use your card.  Don’t discard it if you intend to continue using ecoupons at Jewel! SavingStar has confirmed they will still continue their offers at Jewel. We have also noticed that you get many more Catalina coupons (the per-product kind that are for specific items, like “.75 off Prego pasta sauce”) when you use your Jewel card, as your purchase history is tied to it.

Pick up a free “Cookie Credit Card” in the bakery, and your child can get a free cookie with every visit to Jewel. And, pick up a “Healthy Eaters” card at the customer service counter, and your child can get a FREE banana or Red Delicious apple when they shop with you. Through 12/31/14.

Jewel’s coupon policy allows shoppers to apply manufacturer coupon overage to other items in the same transaction. It also allows two manufacturer coupons to be used on a Buy One Get One Free sale. There have been register issues with this in the past, but many reports are coming in that the issues have been fixed. (Fantastic!)

Watch very closely with two coupons on a Buy One Get One Free. The second coupon will appear to scan fine, but it will show as $0.00 at the register. Be prepared to call on your cashier to manually adjust this for you immediately if they do not intervene.

If you anticipate any issues with this, I would recommend carrying a copy of Jewel’s coupon policy, which outlines both of these issues clearly.

3oz. Hormel Rev Wraps are $1.67 each. Buy two and use the $1-off-2 from the 8/17 SS or a printable to drop these to $1.17 each.

16oz. Jennie-O turkey sausage roll is on sale for $2.50. Use this $1 printable and pay $1.50!

The Chicago Bears have their own ice cream flavor! 1.75qt. cartons of Hudsonville Bear Traxx ice cream are on sale for $3.50. Use the $1 peelie that was stuck to the front of the 8/17 Chicago Tribune and pay $2.50.
