Smartlife Network is pleased to announce the premiere of its new show, “Centsible Couponing,” hosted by consumer coupon expert Jill Cataldo.

Each episode of “Centsible Couponing” will feature Jill Cataldo going into the home of a family struggling financially. Jill will work directly within the household, teaching smarter shopping tactics, stockpiling in moderation and efficient coupon use. At the end of each episode, Jill will accompany the family to the store and watch the grocery bill total come down at the register, coupon after coupon. Along the way, she’ll share tips to help at-home viewers save money and live responsibly.
“I’m very excited about ‘Centsible Couponing,’ because while extreme couponing is a headlines-grabber these days, showing off stockpiles and glorifying dumpster-diving doesn’t actually teach people how to save money with coupons,” Cataldo said, adding “I can teach anyone to cut their grocery bill by half or better in a way that’s simple, easy and fun. You don’t have to fill your house with groceries or spend more than about an hour each week planning a trip to enjoy big savings.

I read this, and then I thought, “Why would Jill be on some obscure cable channel when lots of us don’t even have cable since we have plenty of channels as per her recommendations?” Seriously, that went through my mind. Then I looked at the date.

It’s clear that the extreme couponers that hoard their conquests will use up their 15 minutes of fame pretty quickly. My kids are funny…they saw an episode from before and they were so grateful to see that my stockpile was so minimal compared to the amount of deodorant and toilet paper they were seeing. My 19 year old said to me, “Who in the world can use 300 deodorants in their whole life?”

but have you pitched this idea to a producer?? I think it’s really a viable idea for a show!! haha. Seriously. If people will watch that New JErsey show with “snookie” or whatever her name is, they would watch this. And they’d actually be learning something valuable instead of rotting their brains. (sorry to anyone who is a fan of that show. haha)

I have only been couponing since June of last year (2010)after attending one of your supercouponing classes, you really got me on this one. I even called the cable company to see what channel. I’ll be ready for you next year. This is a show I would like to see though. Thanks for helping me with all your tips and savings. I love doing this, its kind of like a game now to see how much I can save.
