Fans of Kellogg’s Family Rewards will want to know about a change to the way points are entered into the site. Visit Kellogg’s site and you’ll see a notice that Kellogg’s is phasing out entering on-product codes for points toward rewards like high-value printable coupons and other products.
The site notes, “We’re phasing out codes in packages of KFR-participating products” in favor of a receipt-uploading method.
Kellogg’s Family Rewards is currently offering 100 free bonus points for adding a store’s loyalty card to your account and another 100 free bonus points for uploading a receipt.
Interestingly, Jewel-Osco is still listed among the loyalty-card participants. If you still have a Jewel Preferred card, you may be able to use it instead of the receipt-uploading method. (I myself am going to try this, because I’m kind of frustrated with the wild increase in receipt-scanning apps and sites — I think it’s much easier and faster to simply enter the code the old way. Then again, I tend to generate some very long receipts when I shop..! The site did allow me to add my Jewel card number, so we’ll see what happens.)
Other Chicagoland stores listed for loyalty-card points participants are Mariano’s, Schnucks, Piggly Wiggly, Kmart and Peapod. Walgreens and CVS aren’t listed as participating with loyalty cards.
Kellogg’s site says it will still allow you to enter codes from packages, but it doesn’t specify for how long.
One of my readers posted this in the Forum, and I think the post got lost in the shuffle with the most recent upgrade — I apologize for that, but I do appreciate you bringing it to our attention. Thank you!
UPDATE: The site did allow me to add my Jewel-Osco loyalty card to Kellogg’s Family Rewards:
