UPDATE: GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED! The winner is Italy323!
Hey, Super-Couponers… if cookies are on your mind this week, you’re probably not thinking about potato chips… but you should be! To celebrate the holiday season, Pringles have put a twist on the traditional Christmas cookie, using their popular potato crisps as a tasty, crunchy ingredient in their Kringle Spiced Pringles cookie recipe! It’s a tasty twist on a fruit-filled gingersnap… with a crisp!
One can of original Pringles is all you need to whip up a batch of Kringle Spiced Pringles. And, when you’re through, don’t be too quick to toss that Pringles can out. Pringles also has a bunch of seasonal ideas that will give you quite a few bright ways to recycle your Pringles cans.
Both the Kringle Spiced Pringles recipe and can recycling ideas are below. And while everyone can take advantage of these, one reader will find it even easier to do just that by winning this Pringles “Kringle Spiced Pringles” giveaway! The winner will receive two cans of Pringles and a Kringle Spiced Pringles recipe sheet. You’ll get one can of Original Pringles to make Kringle Spiced Pringles with, and one can of Pringles Sour Cream and Onion to enjoy… and then you can reuse your cans too!
Want to win? To enter, simply post a reply in the comments under this article! This Pringles “Kringle Spiced Pringles” giveaway begins today, December 22nd, 2011, and runs for one week. The giveaway will end on December 28th at 11:59pm CST, and on December 29th, one winner will be chosen via a random number generator!
Kringle Spiced Pringles Cookies
Yield: 2 dozen sandwich cookies
Consider mixing-up your traditional holiday cookie batch this year with a recipe using Pringles crisps. Below is an original recipe for Kringle-Spiced Pringles Cookies, a sandwich cookie recipe that combines the savory crunch of Pringles Original Potato crisps with a sweet and zesty jam to create a winning substitute for the usual ginger cookie.
Ingredients:
· 1 can Pringle’s “The Original”
· 1 cup all-purpose flour
· 1 teaspoon baking soda
· 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
· 1 teaspoon allspice
· 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
· 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
· 1 cup dark brown sugar, packed
· 1 egg
· 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
· 1 cup fruit preserves, raspberry or mixed berry
· 1/3 cup crystallized ginger, finely chopped
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven at to 350 degrees and place Pringles, flour, baking soda, and spices in a food processor, and puree until the consistency of corn meal; set aside.
2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until slightly fluffy.
3. Add the egg and vanilla, and mix for 30 seconds.
4. Pour the Pringles spice mixture into the bowl and mix for 1 minute; place dough in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
5. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto ungreased baking sheets, and bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
6. In a small bowl, combine fruit preserves and ginger (if desired, ginger is optional); spread 1 teaspoon onto a cookie, and top with another cookie. Instead of crystallized ginger, you can swap out 2 teaspoons of powdered ginger to the jam.
Did you know that there are many ways to reuse the empty Pringles container after your cookies are baked? Here are just a few ideas:
· Ornament Storage: The unique tube shape makes each can the perfect storage container for ornaments. Just stuff the bottom with a few pieces of tissue or newspaper and then stack the ornaments inside, placing a layer of paper between each one.
· Unique Gift Box: Wrap the can in wrapping paper and it becomes the perfect gift box for Kringle-Spiced Pringles Cookies or other hard-to-wrap gifts. Decorate with personalized stickers, ribbon, glitter and tulle to make it stand out under the tree.
· Gift Wrap in a Jiffy: Store ribbon, tape and scissors inside each can to insure you have everything you need to finish wrapping that gift. No more searching for the scissors and tape after you’ve gotten that wrapping paper perfect
· Dinner Centerpiece: Garnish the outside of the can and add festive decoration; a great kid’s arts and craft project. For a more personalized craft, fill each decorated can with homemade treats and candy and use to mark place settings for dinner guests.
· Share the Holiday Spirit: Give a can of Pringles and the Kringle recipe to encourage holiday baking as a family activity.

I learned you can put a piece of paper in an empty can, add a little paint and a few marbles, and then cover with the lid. Roll the can around and let the marbles distribute the paint around the paper. Uncover, dump marbles, unroll paper, and let dry.
(You could sprinkle glitter onto the paper after you unroll it, if you’re the kind of person that doesn’t mind vacuuming up glitter over and over and over and over again.) : )
