Calling all Moms of 7AM! I don’t know what time mornings begin at your home, but here at the Cataldo house, when the clock strikes 7:00 on weekday mornings, a little bit of mayhem ensues! Alarm clocks blare three different radio stations from three different bedrooms. Our dog trots to the kitchen and patiently waits for his morning kibble.
Then, the cacophony of morning sounds begins: Water running. The refrigerator door being opened and closed (and opened and closed.) Lunchboxes clanging on the tabletop as sandwiches, drinks, and snacks are packed by young hands. The dog barks to go out, and someone clicks the television on, blaring the morning news.
“Mom, don’t forget to sign my field trip permission slip!”
“Mom, is my gym suit still in the dryer?”
“Mom, can I take this big box I found in the garage? Our class is making a habitat for our baby chicks!”
(Well, how could anyone possibly say no to that?)
Most mornings are smooth, but sometimes there’s just not enough time to sit down and enjoy a full breakfast and still get out of the house by 7:30am.
Little Debbie® invited our family to incorporate Little Debbie® Mini Muffins into our morning routine over the past few weeks. Our weekday morning routine usually rotates between cereal, toast, or bagels, so my boys were excited when I told them that we’d soon be sampling something new at breakfast time.
My boys have often said that “bloggers’ kids have the most fun!” The day that a large box of Little Debbie® Mini Muffins arrived was certainly one of those days:
Oh my! When Little Debbie® says they’re sending “some samples” over to try, they mean it! Everyone in the house has been enjoying these yummy little muffins, and the boys are sharing them with their friends as well.
Each box of Little Debbie® Mini Muffins contains five bags of muffins, with four mini muffins inside each bag. We tried both the blueberry and chocolate chip flavors. We also received Mini Brownies, which are, of course, tasty little chocolate brownie muffins!
Each serving of Little Debbie® Mini Muffins and brownies range from 180 to 260 calories. If you enjoy Little Debbie® snacks and treats, I think you’ll like these Mini Muffins as well. The individually-wrapped servings make them convenient, both for portion control and for portability. Plus, each bag of muffins stays fresh and moist — imagine if all of the muffins were stored in the same bag? They might dry out or become stale before the entire 20-count package was finished.
(Of course, that assumes that your family wouldn’t down 20 mini muffins in one sitting — which I think is possible in our house.)
The chocolate chip and chocolate brownie muffins are really tasty too. They’re great for breakfast, but kids will enjoy having them as lunchbox or after-school snacks too.
My youngest discovered that the chocolate chip muffins taste great when dipped into milk!
While our kids have enjoyed having ittle Debbie® Mini Muffins at the breakfast table, we’ve also found that they’re great for on-the-run breakfasts for those days when the kids have spent a little too much “tablet time” in the morning before school…
… and breakfast takes place in Mom’s truck!
