Look for food clearance finds at Jewel-Osco

As Jewel-Osco’s new owner continues to make changes in the stores, I’ve noticed that many of the former Jewel house-branded products are hitting the clearance shelves (and freezer cases!) You may want to look in your seafood department the next time you’re at the store..! Check out some of the things I spotted ay my local Huntley Jewel:

These 4-ounce Shoppers Value Salmon, Tilapia and Pollock 4-ounce fillets are all .25! Yes, a quarter! These fillets usually sell for $1, so this is the equivalent of paying $1/lb. — an absolute steal! My store was already out of the salmon fillets, unfortunately, but they had plenty of Tilapia and Pollock. (I bought some, of course, but there was still plenty there when I left….)

The Arctic Shores coconut shrimp are pretty tasty – I love the Margaritaville frozen coconut shrimp as well, but the when the price is right on these, I’ll buy. And today it was – these boxes were $2.98, down from $5.99.

And, if you liked those Pasta Prima lobster ravioli we had a great deal on last month:

My store apparently won’t be carrying them anymore..! Bummer. But, there’s a .75 printable on Facebook that ups to $1 in value if you share the coupon with a friend. With the $1 printable, pay $1.98.

  1. love the pasta prima lobster ravioli! especially when it is so cheap! we are going on our last one from the freezer so hopefully they will have some at my jewel for one last go round!

  2. I’m bummed about this. I always bought the 4oz Salmon portions (reg. priced $1 at the South Elgin store), but a couple weeks ago I noticed they were out. Such a great price for wild caught Salmon.

  3. breast was on clearance for 39 cents ea. for the 4 oz. packages, which equals $1.56 a lb. for boneless, skinless, no waste chicken! I got 20.

    My store had the tilapia for 79 cents, so I passed.

    I also found the Fast Fixins nuggets for $1.59, down from $2.99 last week in the clearance, and I happened to have the 2 -$1/1 printables in my purse! I got the last 2 of those.

    I also saw those tiny pizzas for 50 cents and some 4 lb Jewel wings for $2.99. I would have got those too but my freezer is too full! The clearance stuff is going fast!

  4. In the meat department, Fast Fixins’ frozen chicken nuggets, patties, & strips were on sale for $1.29 last week and we bought 3 of them. I can’t remember, but it may be a discontinued product. Anyway I checked online and found a $1 printable for 20 oz or larger. I’m going back today to see if they have more.
