In addition to having a Corning Ware “problem,” my mother and I also have a shared Crock Pot problem. We both have more Crock Pots than any human should reasonably own. She has gifted me with many slow cookers over the years. One year she bought me a 4.5 quart because I already had a four-quart and a five-quart, but not a 4.5 quart. I could line up all of my Crock Pots on the counter and feed a football team.
So this past December, my mother gave me an eight-quart (truly huge) slow-cooker for Christmas. This was hilarious because my previously-largest Crock Pot was a six quart. She said “I really wanted to buy you a seven-quart, and then I saw an eight. EIGHT, Jill, an EIGHT!”
It was like that scene from “There’s Something About Mary” where the hitchhiker is arguing about the merits of “Seven Minute Abs” versus “Six Minute Abs.”
If my mom sees this deal before it ends at 11am, she’ll probably buy it. I have a six-quart, and now an eight-quart, but I still don’t have a seven-quart. (Mom, really, I love you dearly. But I do not need this one. But I know you so well!)
