If you shop at Meijer, you will want to take a look at their updated coupon policy. Reader Brittany11717 wrote that her store was handing out copies of the new policy yesterday in the store. You can view the policy online here. Worth noting: Mperks can no longer be stacked with paper coupons; transactions cannot be broken up, and Meijer is now accepting competitors’ coupons for grocery, health & beauty and general merchandise, with guidelines and restrictions similar to what Walmart does with competitor coupons.
From the new policy:
- mPerks offers cannot be combined with paper coupons (manufacturer or Meijer) toward the purchase of a single item
- Transactions cannot be broken up to avoid coupon stacking restrictions
- Separate checklanes will not be opened or designated for customers with large coupon orders
- Meijer will accept coupons from major competitors in each store’s trading area, for Grocery and or for Health and Beauty Care items
- Meijer will accept coupons from major competitors in each store’s trading area for General Merchandise items only if the competitor’s price point is included. The item must be the identical item on the coupon for the match to occur.
- Meijer does not accept competitor coupons for beer, wine, liquor, cigarettes, double and triple coupons, clearance, percent off, total trans- action discounts, special promotions, gift card promotions, limited quantity items, mail-in rebate offers, and going out of business sales
- Meijer reserves the right to limit coupon quantities and to determine the order of application of multiple coupons and/or promotions

Isn’t the only major change the mperks?
Until a month ago or so they would accept the general $x off general purchase from Walgreens/ jewel, now I have problems.
Am I missing something?

So???? Last week they had the buy 4 jello.. get a free container of strawberries… I did this twice in two separate transactions.. is that considered coupon stacking?
Ugh!! Why even have Mperks now? Except for Meijer brand items!!!!

Does it address using Register Rewards or other oyno cats? I’ve never been able to use these at the Plainfield Meijer.

I shopped at Meijer for the first and last time either late last year or early this year when people were beginning to report that the full value of their manufacturers coupons were not coming off the bill when used with an mPerks coupon. I was one of the people who had this happen, and at the Orland Park store, neither the cashier or the Customer Service Department was willing to fix it. I didn’t like the fact that Meijer would be reimbursed the full value of my coupon when they turned it in to the clearinghouse but they refused to give me credit for the full value.
All that Meijers has done is to now put into writing what they’ve already been doing to their customers for at least six months. I’m not at all surprised and now that it’s official, I know I’ll never shop there again.
Hopefully they will lose a lot of business over this change and will reconsider their decision.

Wonder if it’s blowing up like Dominick’s with their fiascos of late. However, I do find it funny. People were going to boycott Dominick’s in droves and now, which isn’t too far removed from the previous b.s., people are turning back toward them. Meijer will wait it out. They know people have short memories and will follow their dollars to the best (at the time) shoppping deals.
***Yes, they do and the comments are coming in on the new policy. Haven’t read to see if Meijer responds.*** https://www.facebook.com/meijer

Here’s her link to Meijer’s policy. Looks like a store coupon with mfr coupon is ok. I guess mperks are store coupons …?
