I headed over to Meijer today to pick up a bunch of sale items that currently have Mperks electronic coupon offers too. All of these products fall into the category of entertaining — lots of meats, snacks, sides, and ingredients for other crowd-pleasing dishes! I found some good savings on food prep, serving, and cleanup items too. Between fall grilling and football Sundays, we’re getting well-stocked for everything from backyard cookouts to potluck game days.
Here’s what I bought and which Mperks I used:
In the “grillable meats” category, I bought:
- Oscar Mayer Selects 12oz. uncured bacon. On sale for $5.24 through 9/21, I used a $2-off-2 Mperks ecoupon and dropped it to $4.24 per package.
- Hillshire Farm 13.5oz. beef smoked sausage. On sale for $2.50 through 9/21, I used a .50 Mperks ecoupon and paid $2.
- McCormick Grill Mates 14oz. brown sugar bourbon smoked sausage. On sale for $2.50 for 9/21, I used a .75 Mperks ecoupon and paid $1.75.
- Oscar Mayer Selects 13oz. Italian Herb uncured smoked sausage. On sale for $2.99 through 9/21, I used a $2-off-2 Mperks ecoupon and dropped it to $1.99 per package.
(And yes, bacon IS a grillable meat. Wrap those sausages in it and pop them on the grill. Try it!)
In the “sides and ingredients” category, I bought:
- Brooks 15.5oz. chili beans. On sale for .95 through 9/21, I used a .40-off-2 Mperks ecoupon and dropped these to .75 per can.
- Prego 24oz. pasta sauces. On sale for $1.10 each through 9/21, I attempted to use a $1-off-2 Mperks ecoupon to drop these to .60 each… however, I somehow overlooked that the Mperks offer is for the larger size jar. Oops. (It happens. I kept my pasta sauce!)
- KC Masterpiece 4oz. BBQ dry rub seasoning. It’s $2.79 through 9/18. I used a $1 Mperks ecoupon and paid $1.79.
- Three Spice Islands seasonings ($3.28 for steak seasoning, $2.99 for Carne Asada, $3.35 for coriander — the secret ingredient to hubby’s homemade guacamole!) Mperks has a $4.50-off-3, a $2.50-off-2, and a $1 ecoupon for Spice Islands. With the $4.50-off-3, I took $1.50 off each jar, dropping these to $1.78, $1.49, and $1.85!
In the “drinks, snacks, and desserts” category, I bought:
- Tropicana 59oz. orange juice and watermelon drink. The orange juice is on sale for $3.33 and the watermelon is $1.99 through 9/21. I used an Mperks offer for “Buy 1 Tropicana 59oz., get Tropicana drink FREE” and paid $3.33 for both.
- Pepperidge Farm Goldfish 30oz. carton. On sale for $6.49 through 9/21, I used a $1 Mperks ecoupon and paid $5.49.
- Snyder’s of Hanover 12oz. Braided Twists pretzels. On sale for $2.49 through 9/25, I used a Buy One Get One FREE Mperks ecoupon and paid $2.49 for both, or about $1.50 per bag.
- Hot Pockets 20oz. Food Truck Bites in Triple Cheesy Bacon Melt flavor. Regular price is $5.39. I used a $1 Mperks ecoupon and paid $4.39.
- Betty Crocker peanut butter cookie mix. Regular price is $1.10. I used an Mperks ecoupon for “FREE Betty Crocker Peanut Butter or Sugar Cookie Pouch With Any Bake Aisle Purchase.” The Mperks’ terms detail all of the baking aisle items that qualify, including any flour, sugar, spices and seasonings. (While I also bought three spices in the same trip, this offer did not come off automatically with Mperks, so keep an eye out for in case you do this deal too and have the same issue.)
- Pepperidge Farm 12.5oz. apple turnovers. Regular price is $3.99. I bought two and used a $1-off-2 Mperks ecoupon, dropping each box to $3.49. (These are a total guilty pleasure of mine and one of my favorite at-home desserts to make!)
Lastly, in the “food prep, serving, and cleanup” category, I bought:
- 6 big roll Meijer Ultra paper towels. On sale for $4.99 through 9/21, I used a $1 Mperks offer and paid $3.99.
- Two 50ct. Hefty Everyday foam plates. On sale for $2 each through 9/21, I used a $1-off-2 Mperks offer and dropped them to $1.50 each.
- Reynolds Wrap 75 square foot aluminum foil. On sale for $3.49 through 9/21, I used a .55 Mperks ecoupon and paid $2.94.
- Meijer 5oz. hand sanitizer pump. Regular price $2.49, I used a $1 Mperks ecoupon and paid $1.49.
In total, I saved more than $22 today with Mperks, and we’ve got lots of provisions on hand for entertaining friends too.
If you go shopping on 9/16 or 9/17/16, Mperks has an extra $5 off a food purchase of $50 or more, so don’t forget to clip that — you’ll save even more!

Some of these deals are even better if you have the Meijer store coupon Catalinas.
I love the $1 off ANY store Catalinas like: $1 off any soda, or $1 off any fresh meat item, or $1 off of any frozen item.
Many times those score you a free item, or an excellent deal on the smallest package you can find.
Before I shop at Meijer, I look over all the Mperks.
I also search for the word FREE in the search box just to make sure I don’t miss anything.
Especially if it’s free!
I always check out the Buy 1 Get 1 Free offers too, because some of those can be great deals!
Filling prescriptions at Meijer is also my 1st choice.
You get a 2 Week Catalina: $20 for New Prescriptions & $25 for Transfers with Catalinas or back page coupons.
Plus for every 5 you fill, you get a reward.
I never have a pharmacy auto-refill, I will just alternate it from Meijer to another Pharmacy, then back to Meijer for another reward.
And remember most of your purchases go toward your Spend & Get Meijer Mperk Reward, which can vary for anywhere from an extra 5% to 10% reward!

I tried the free cookie pouch deal today and the price didn’t come off automatically. They told me it was for Michigan Meijer stores only and I probably didn’t select the Elgin store as my locale on my mobile device. I just looked and I do have my local store chosen as my store. There’s a problem they need to fix.

I definitely checked that I had my Algonquin store selected before I loaded the offer — I would have had no way of knowing about it had it not showed up in my Mperks list last week. I will see if i can find anything out. I did have my shopping list printed out when I went to the store to show them that it was loaded on my Mperks.
