Everything’s working fine now with Jewel’s “Buy 3, Save $5” Procter & Gamble deal! For those who like to see receipts, here’s mine from this morning’s trip (click receipt to enlarge…)
I bought:
12 Puffs
3 Mr. Clean sprays
1 Dawn Hand Renewal
8 Febreze Air Effects
Coupons used:
One .50 off Dawn Hand Renewal
One .50 off Mr. Clean
One $2 off 2 Febreze items
Four .25 off Puffs
One “Buy 2 Mr. Clean, Get One Free”
Two “Buy 1 Febreze Air Effects, Get One Free”
Total: $1.01
Tax .91
I paid $2.01 for all 24 items. $40 in instant savings came off on my receipt.
Technically, I could have used two more B1G1F coupons on the remaining Febrezes that were non-couponed at this point — that was my plan. That would have given me $5.18 in overage, but I had no other items in my cart at that moment to apply the overage to..! Oops. My cashier and I were doing this one together as a “test round” to see if the $5 instant savings would indeed come off after every three items, and how many groups of three would stack up. And, when the $5 instant savings discounts kept coming off, we just kept going.
I hadn’t done any “real shopping” yet and went back for that after I took these things to the car. No complaints though – I gave my last two Febreze coupons to another shopper to enjoy! :) This was a fun one.

If you need Dawn this is a good way to do it too with no Dawn coupons:
Buy 2 Febreze and one Dawn = $7.68
$5 off for Instant = $2.68
Use B1G1F Febreze = .09 for everything!

Are they on sale for the same price? Trying to figure out my shopping list before I get there so I don’t spend too much time standing around the store recalculating.

Does anyone know when Jewel restocks? I went this afternoon and everything I was looking for had empty shelves, so no deals for me! Since I have 4 people sick in the house right now I’d especially love to score some inexpensive tissues. Does anyone know when Jewel restocks shelves? It’s close by my house so I can run over readily but don’t want to bother if the shelves will stay empty.

I did 2 transactions, one where I wanted overage to apply to other things and one that was low subtotal plus tax. I mostly shop at the Wrigleyville store on Southport in the city, they seemed to have a pretty good supply of virtually all the included P&G items including Puffs and Febreze Air Effects. I assure you I cleared no shelves!!
Transaction #1:
3 Mr Clean Extra Power magic erasers ($8.37)
6 Febreze Air Effects ($15.54)
3 Dawn dish soaps ($7.50)
Sub total: $31.41 – $20 instant savings = $11.41
Coupons Used:
3x B1G1 Febreze Air Effects (PG 9/1) = $7.77
Mr Clean B2G1 (PG 9/1) = $2.79
$.50 off Mr Clean Magic Erasers (P&G Home Made Simple booklet)
For a sub total of $.35 plus $1.06 tax – final price $1.41!!
Transaction #2:
This was more complicated because I was adding items not included in the deal including alcohol, for the overage to apply toward.. I also had some manufacturer coupons that came in the mail that many may not have including $2.50 off 2 puffs and 2 Bounty towel products.
16 Puffs Ultra tissue ($28.64)
8 Febreze air effects ($20.72)
3 Mr Clean sprays ($8.37)
2 Bounty basic rolls ($2)
1 750ml bottle Captain Morgan ($15.99 +$1.03 cook county liquor tax)
Sub total: $76.72 – $45 instant savings = $31.72
Coupons used:
4x B1G1 Febreze air effects (PG 9/1) = $10.36
$2/2 Febreze air effects (P&G Home Made Simple booklet)
$2.50 off 2 puffs and 2 Bounty towels (P&G online promotion from last month)
4x $.25/3 Puffs (PG 9/1) = $1
2x $1 off any Puffs (Found inside existing puffs I bought at CVS a while back) = $2
B2G1 Mr Clean spray (PG 9/1) = $2.79
$.50 off Mr Clean Spray (P&G Home Made Simple booklet)
For a sub total of $10.60 plus $2.84 tax (including booze taxed twice in the city!!) = $13.44
Because the liquor would have been $18.50 after taxes by itself, I choose to believe everything else was free and the overage covered tax for the whole basket plus about $2.22 off of the rum.. Too bad that $2 off Captain Morgan from the back of the CVS ad expired on 9/1. ;)

I buy 10 papers a week so I’m having fun.
For the $9.98 I spent – I bought
30 puffs & 30 Febreeze
e Air Sprays 9 Fabreeze that sit on desk & 9 Mr. Clean Erasers.
I help out family & friends who don’t coupon – some don’t understand how to and others have too many kids – to have the time to learn how or go shopping.
I have fun doing this – helps many people.

is febreeze the only product in this p&g sale that has a bogo coupon? i want to get dawn and it seems that doing 2 febreeze and one dawn will make them almost free. but i really dont need anymore room sprays.

I have been away on vacation all summer so I don’t have any of these coupons. Yes, I know that this past Sunday was the P&G insert. But with an 8 hour time zone change and getting the kids school supplies all week, it was to hard to go get the paper this Sunday.
There are still some great deals to be had if you want even without coupons! It just feels so good to be back and see a great promotion like this running, and start saving again.
Yes, I did make it to Jewel yesterday, but the puffs were out. So, I was able to stock up on other essentials. For example, if you get just 3 dawn soap, your only paying $2.50 for 3 big bottles. From past sales we were getting the 9 oz bottle size for around $.50 after coupons and now its $.83 for a 20-24 oz bottle.
