Jewel sent over a newer copy of their revised coupon policy in progress, which takes effect July 1st, 2012.
Here’s what’s changed. I will have a final complete policy to post at some point soon.
– Competitor manufacturer coupons that say “redeemable at” our competitor will still be accepted
– Competitor catalina manufacturer coupons that say “redeemable at” our competitor will still be accepted
– Competitor store coupons for national brand products will not be accepted
– Competitor Catalina store for national brand products will not be accepted
– Competitor manufacturer coupons that say “redeemable only at” our competitor will not be accepted
– Competitor Catalina manufacturer coupons that say “redeemable only at” our competitor will not be accepted
– Cents off Coupons – will be accepted for the full face value on a “cents off” coupon provided the customer has other purchases against which to credit the additional amount. Coupon deductions may not exceed the total amount of purchase – no cash back may be given.
And how about that last part about the Cents off Coupons? YES, Jewel’s policy will finally allow for coupon overage! (I’ve confirmed this with corporate this afternoon via email too – just wanted to be sure!)

Jill, do you know if Jewel is addressing the issue of coupons ringing up at $0 when you use two on a B1G1F sale? I used two coupons on a B1G1F sale at Jewel about a week ago and sure enough the second one rang up at $0 and the supervisor said she had never seen one ring up at zero before!! I wonder how many people have not even noticed and been shorted. You’ve had that red notice on your blog for how long now!! :)

Hi,
Thanks for the upcoming new Jewel policy!
In reading it over, I’m a little unsure about something under the Service Desk Procedures section:
–“Customers are eligible for cash back on their coupon no later than 60 days after purchase with a legible,
dated receipt, coupon expiration date valid on day of purchase.”–
It sounds like (for example) if we buy something on Monday and then come Wednesday we find our coupon for an item we bought on Monday, that we can go to the service desk and redeem it then. I rarely go to the service desk, but there have been times when I’ve later found a coupon for something I’ve purchased.
Have you had experience doing this? What is your reaction from the service desk (even though it is part of policy)? Do they seem pretty amiable to it? With my service desk, I’m envisioning a case of the “stink eye”.
Thanks!

Sad about wags cats not accepted any more. I was going to jewel because of those cats. I am thinking it will hurt both jewel and wags.
Walmart recently had a great quarter after 8 or 9 bad sales declining quarters. I have to wonder whether the worse coupon environment sent people back there. How sad but not boding well for the jewels and co.

because they are so short dated and their follow-up sales, that I can use the RR on and still get another mfr’s RR, are getting worse in terms of desirability and far and few between, in addition to nothing being in stock for the sale. I just DO NOT shop Wags as some of you do.
I also never paid attention to the ‘only at’. Did Jewel take them anyway because they are additionally stated as mfr’s coupons (top portion)? I didn’t think they took ANY printed coupon/cents off with wording ‘only at’, just terms like ‘redeemable at’ which does not contain the qualifier ‘only’.

Jewel’s advantage also? Sale is .88, use 1.00 coupon and get that plus .08 or more for each coupon turned in? As it is now, many might not buy the product without the ability to use the coupon. I know that I think twice before buying without a coupon, even if it is a measly .25.
I mean, why wouldn’t they have done this before? Or is my math totally off base?
Speaking of measly .25’ers, what the heck is up with Hellman’s lousy coupons? At the price of their product, couldn’t they afford to reward extremely loyal couponers with, oh I don’t know, .75 to a buck? These current coupons are insulting and certainly not a reward to loyal users or an incentive to new ones.

The Spring Grove Jewel is already not accepting Walgreens RR that say redeemable only at Walgreens.
