Reader Joy W sent this photo in from her trip to Walgreens tonight to buy dog treats.
O-kay. Dog treats are $3.99 a bag, or two for $7 when they’re NOT on sale.
But hey, they ARE on sale now… for $4.49 a bag or two for $8! Sale! Sale!
But that “sale” costs .50 more per bag.
Seriously, how many people are sucked in by this kind of marketing?
Probably the same people that thought this was a deal:

Once I was done giggling about this little pricing scheme, I noticed they have done away with a good portion of their dog & cat food products in the West Dundee store. They did have Beggin’ Strips 2/$10.00!!!!! That’ll teach me to forget the treats at Jewel. Never again!!

sunscreeen deal was the same way. It was 1.50 more on the “sale” sign with 20% off next to it. It still ended up being pretty cheap with coupons and the register reward but do they really think we are that stupid? If I hadn’t needed it, I wouldn’t have bought it on principle alone.

This would be hilarious if it wasn’t so offensive! :)
