My syndicated Super-Couponing Tips column for the week is entitled “‘Are meal kits a good value?“
Here’s an excerpt:
“Meal kit services sell the convenience of meal planning with to-your-door ingredients. Each week, a box arrives at your residence with all of the ingredients inside that you’ll need to prepare and cook this week’s dinners. These meal kits also include the recipes for each dish, either on a card or supplied online.“

These services are really only practical for singles or well off couples. As your column noted the disparity in pricing as compared to self buying ingredients is significant. Using a grocery delivery service would even be much cheaper.
You must be an amazing cook to make chicken thighs tasty. I imagine you trained the family well in this regard as well. Do you care to share how you prepared them? That is the one part of the chicken I just avoid. I wish I liked them better because of the good deals on them.

Oh, thighs are some of my favorite cuts to make! I think they turn out more flavorful and juicy than breasts (and yes, there are usually a good number of deals on them too!) I regularly make them a few different ways. Last night we had them on the grill, which is one of my favorite ways to cook them. I leave the skin on, rub them with olive oil, salt & pepper them generously, and then put them in the center of the grill. I spread the charcoal to the sides of our grill, so they cook indirectly for about ten minutes on each side. After 20 total minutes, I move them directly over the charcoal for about 5 minutes per side to crisp them up.
I also like to bake them with a honey & soy sauce glaze – this recipe is for drumsticks, but I have used bone-in thighs too: https://www.blessthismessplease.com/baked-chicken-legs/
