My syndicated Super-Couponing Tips column for the week is entitled “Coupon confusion strikes again.”
Here’s an excerpt:
“Most of the time, using coupons is easy – simply read the wording on a coupon to find out for what product the coupon is valid. However, my readers have been adept at spotting unusual or questionable wording on coupons lately, and here’s another batch of reader email sharing what they’re seeing on their coupons…”

All of us have had the experience of CVS of not having enough of an item at CVS and getting a rain check…
…and have been the victims of clean shelves.
…and when you use that raincheck, the deal is off of Checkout51 or Ibotta or another app and you lose out.
If you haven’t visited a CVS lately in the past couple of weeks:
Some stores have the NEW policies right on the checkouts now!
Some stores are enforcing them now, some are giving people a grace period until the end of the month with a hard cut off of September.
Most of the over rides cashiers & managers were able to do in the past are going away.
Limits will now be strictly enforced.
So get ready for some delays if you are going to coupon there, since coupons will be scrutinized.
Things will get better as time goes on, and cashiers get used to the new policy & new register programming being rolled out.
At least the shelves in my area won’t be cleaned out within minutes after opening any more!
