My syndicated Super-Couponing Tips column for the week is entitled “What do you love about saving money?
Here’s an excerpt:
“My complaint: once I find a product I really like, it is discontinued! This is very annoying. I loved a particular soup mix. After researching online, I found that it had been sold to another company, which repackaged the product and did make modifications to it. The ‘new’ product didn’t sell and it also was eliminated from the store shelves. Also, another brand made cleaning cloths that were excellent for cleaning pillows, stuffed animals and chair seats. These were pre-moistened towelettes, and I thought they were the best invention since sliced bread. Unfortunately, no one else thought so.”

You don’t say what your favorite cornbread crackers were, but have you tried the ones from Aldi? I really like them.
The discontinued products I miss most are a bunch of the President’s Choice brand stuff that Jewel used to carry. After one of the corporate mergers, they discontinued them all, and I’ve been unable to find another store in the NW suburbs that carries the PC brand. Emails to the company were ignored.

The crackers we loved were Keebler Club Cornbread – we’d even break them over a bowl of chili! SO good.
I typically don’t mention brands or stores in my syndication column, but I can definitely share that info here.
To the best of my knowledge, President’s Choice was/is a Canadian brand and is still available in Canada: https://www.presidentschoice.ca/en_CA.html

There was also a great brand of spice mixes that we got from Caputo in Algonquin. We saw the supply dwindling, and eventually they closed out the remaining stock. The company had gone out of business, so there is no hope of finding another source :(
It’s as bad as when your favorite restaurant closes.
