My syndicated Super-Couponing Tips column for the week is entitled “Not everyone is interested in saving money.“
Here’s an excerpt:
“Something strange happened to me at the grocery store the other day. I was buying dog food, and there was a coupon pad on the shelf for $5 off any bag seven pounds or larger. I pointed out the coupon on the shelf and told him the best deal was to buy the smaller bags. He shrugged, ignored the coupon, and continued shopping. Why would anyone ignore an easy deal like this? I was baffled…“

I think some of it has to do with how stilted interaction with strangers has become. Both the gentleman with the dog food and the lady with the pop may have thought they were somehow being taken advantage of, although I cannot imagine anyone interacting with Jill and that coming to mind. Hard to comprehend, but it happens.

I agree. I was nothing but nice, because I am all about trying to help people save money :) You are right though that some people do not want to engage in any kind of conversation in public — with anyone.

I hope the cookout was good. Does the Keto diet allow you to drink diet pop?
Coupon Maven says
I am not a fan of diet – I’m one of those people for whom diet pop tastes akin to paint thinner. But yes, on Keto, you can have as much diet pop as you want.
I do enjoy a Coke Life on some days. These are the green can Cokes. They are half sugar, half Stevia, and they actually taste way more like a traditional Coke than Diet or Zero Cokes do to me. They are a 90 calorie, 24 carb Coke. Not Keto, but low enough to sneak one here and there :) I try to stay under 25 carbs a day, so if I go carb free the rest of the day, I can have a Coke Life.

I was firmly in that camp as well, until I had stomach reduction surgery and couldn’t have sugar anymore. Diet Mtn. Dew is now preferable to me than the regular and, forgive me, but Pepsi (please don’t hate me) Zero Sugar is amazing for a cola. Appreciate you responding.

Ha – I don’t hate you! My parents are Pepsi drinkers, and we have long debated which cola is superior :) Glad the Zero is working out for you! My husband likes it too. :)

I also have tried to tell a fellow customer that was grabbing the 18ct eggs for 1.99 when the 12ct were on sale for .49 limit 2. They said they needed 18. Oh well.
