My syndicated Super-Couponing Tips column for the week is entitled “Shifts in consumer demand affect sale pricing.“

I’ve found that, if buying the upgraded diet formulations like Coke Zero and Pepsi Zero Sugar, these don’t hold up so well even just before the end of the recommended purchase date. I won’t stock up any more on these than I can use in a month.

Also, Dollar General’s regular price is like $11 for three 12 packs for both Pepsi and Coke products. Buy six of these on a Saturday when they have $5 off $25, which is most weekends, pick up something for $3 that the house needs and this knocks 20% off making it less than $3 per 12 pack. Even if $2.50 for a 12 pack can be found, which generally requires some additional or minimum purchase say at Kroger’s (Mariano’s for you), one need not wait for a sale to get a good price.
