My syndicated Super-Couponing Tips column for the week is entitled “‘Where did the coupons and sales go?“
Here’s an excerpt:
“Why aren’t stores having many sales anymore? I understand that with the coronavirus, it is harder for stores to keep products in stock, but my grocery store has gone from having an eight-page ad to a single two-sided sheet each week.“

A lot of things have changed and the dearth of specials and coupons is just one thing added to the list. I thought you responded to the queries with great tact. As we start to see specials advertised again and some more coupons, it’s one more thing to mark that we are emerging from the crisis.

Thank you. It’s a tough topic, because there are so many moving parts to what’s going on right now: Empty/strained shelf stock, few coupons, and little to no manufacturer-funded promotions are all present together to frustrate shoppers at a time when people want to spend as little time shopping as possible.
I agree that when promotions start increasing again, and ad sizes also begin increasing again, we’ll be headed back in the right direction. :)

I noticed that Jill said there aren’t any Catalina Offers for May 2020. I shop at a Meijer Store in the Chicago region and got Catalina printouts for 3 items: Keurig Pods, Nature Valley Granola Bars and Purina Pet Products. I noticed a posting on the LRWC site by someone for Tops Markets for the same offers.
Now, I know Meijer is not featured in any of the Catalina posting websites: Jill Cataldo, Living Rich With Coupons or ForTheMommas. However, I usually check these sites and when ShopRite has a Catalina Offer listing, Meijer usually has the same offer.
The Nature Valley Granola Bars and Keurig Pods expire on 5/17/2020.
The NV Bars are as follows B3G$1, B4G$2, B5G$3

MJ, I’m happy to get these posted – thank you. On the 1st of the month, I looked around & hadn’t seen or received any alerts. I know promotions are down due to Corona :(

I noticed that your column is no longer being published too, hopefully that’s temporary.

Pat, my column is still syndicated weekly in papers all over the country. Which paper dropped it, if you don’t mind me asking?
