THIS is why I’m such a big fan of Sears Outlet. Any time I can go buy clothing for myself in the price range that I usually pay for my kids’ clothing… it’s a good day.
As you may know, Sears Outlet stores regularly have Free Clothing Tuesdays, and this being Tuesday, the offer of getting one free item of clothing is usually enough to motivate me to take a trip up to the Woodstock Sears Outlet. On busy days, I usually run in and just grab something for my kids. But then when I see signs like this, and this:
… it makes me start thinking, “Don’t I need some new summer shorts? Yes, I do!”
En route to the shorts racks, I spotted a $10 pair of jeans that I quickly deemed my FREE clothing item of the day. Then, I hit the shorts racks. All of the shorts were priced at a cool $5, and the Capris and Bermudas were $8 per pair.
To take advantage of the $35/$10 instant savings, I was aiming to get to $35 in shorts. Seven pairs of $5 shorts would have done it, but I really liked two pairs of the $8 Bermudas, so that put me at $36, or $26 after instant-savings.
At the register, the deal got even better! I gave the cashier my coupon for my free clothing item (always go with the most expensive item… I used it on the $10 jeans.) She informed me that I had $7.34 in Shop Your Way rewards to use on my points card too. (Incredibly, even when you just get the free clothing each week, you still rack up SYW points!) She applied that discount, and I paid a cool $19.97 for six pairs of shorts! That’s about $3.33 per pair… plus FREE jeans!
The instant-savings sale continues at Sears Outlet through Thursday, 5/3.

I love, love, LOVE the Sears outlets! I had no intention of grabbing anything but my freebie today, when lo-and-behold I found most of the employees working on marking down goodies to 75% off the ticket price (from 50% off). The deals were already outrageous, and then the instant-savings gets thrown in too?!? Someone save me a cart!!
Lands’ End shirts for $1 and change, Nordic Track shirts for $2…insanity!! (And GENIUS on the part of the Sears Outlet folks, since once again they got me for items I didn’t expect to purchase – and for which I have NO buyer’s regret whatsoever.)

Hi Jill,
Were you at the Sears Outlet in Woodstock tonight (5.1.12) between 5:30-6:45ish?
I ask because I was there with my wife and I saw someone that I thought was you (sitting in the kids area) but wasn’t sure and didn’t want to ask. haha…
Anyway, I printed out two coupons and had to drag my wife there but she “reluctantly” spent over an hour browsing before she eventually bought 7 items.
My son and his girlfriend showed up and used the other coupon.
I’m going to write about our adventure and post it to my blog (https://thelifeofjwo.wordpress.com/) tomorrow. I’m going to link to your site because that’s where I heard of the place and got the coupon.
If it was you, I hate that I didn’t get to meet you. If it wasn’t you then I’m glad I didn’t embarrass myself. hahaha…
