Arizona’s CBS 5 has an update on the Phoenix counterfeit coupon ring:
The families of two Valley women accused of helping a large-scale counterfeiting and forgery operation say they are shocked by the allegations.
Arthur Johnson said his wife was arrested at their south Phoenix home where they run a small dog breeding business. He said it was through his wife’s internet searches for dog food coupons that she became connected with both 40-year-old Robin Ramirez, the alleged leader of the operation, and 42-year-old Amiko Fountain, another alleged helper.
While police confiscated $2 million worth of assets from Ramirez’s upscale north Phoenix home, including vehicles, guns and a speedboat, Arthur Johnson said only in the last four months did his wife begin working for her, boarding and packing coupons once or twice a week, in exchange for free coupons. They were coupons they believed to be legit and were told Ramirez got through a nonprofit organization that she belongs to.
CBS 5 News also spoke with one of Fountain’s relatives, who said Fountain is an honest person who couldn’t have known about the scheme because she never gained financially from it.
Ramirez’s family would not comment.

I’m sorry Jill, but this is dangerously approaching dead horse beating. It was an interesting and relevant story three days ago, but not interesting enough to warrant multiple updates per day since. Do we really need hear comments from the counterfeiter’s families? More importantly, does anyone here actually care about what they have to say?
This particular post offers nothing educational or insightful about couponing or shopping. It’s just another “our family did nothing wrong” statement that you hear in every crime story. This is stuff you can find on any local news station in America.

isnt Johnsons alleged dog breeder site the one that tells how to get fake hologram strips on your coupons – and pay extra money – to persuade a cashier to accept it?
And she didnt know??
Really????
I wanna bet that her lawyer will make sure the jury has no on one there who coupons regularly…..
